OBJECTIVE: This article corresponds to the third, qualitative phase. It proposed to explore the subjective experience of people with different levels of mentalization during the COVID-19 pandemic. METHOD: For this, 14 semi-structured interviews, designed according to the variables were carried out. The Consensus Qualitative Consensus Research (CQR) methodology (Hill et al., 1997, 2005) was used for data analysis. RESULTS: According to the frequency of appearance of the categories, it was found, as a general category, that it was the relationship with others that allowed the participants to cope with the situation. Typically, strategies to cope with discomfort, the negative impact of the pandemic on work, and feelings of sadness and anxiety were highlighted. Discursive differences were found according to the level of mentalization, reflecting a progression in relation to the person's register and possibilities of agency. DISCUSSION: We propose the implementation of mentalization interventions to moderate the negative effects of this and future crises.","PeriodicalId":318287,"journal":{"name":"Clínica e Investigación Relacional","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123361244","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Despite the fact that the text was written almost a century ago and there are aspects that are clearly outdated, its reading does not leave us indifferent. Why? Because despite the passage of time, some of the conceptions about femininity of that moment are still very present today. Freud addresses in his text issues such as upbringing, motherhood and sexuality. Can something be rescued from its conception in these themes? The text reviews these and other issues from a gender perspective, taking into account Freud's androcentrism, which runs through his theory and concepts (such as penis envy).","PeriodicalId":318287,"journal":{"name":"Clínica e Investigación Relacional","volume":"57 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128950794","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

From the relational perspective in psychoanalysis we maintain, instead, that the mind is not something innate or internal, but is a product of human interaction, within a particular way of life. The metaphysical counterpart of the egocentric perspective is the problem of other minds – how can I be sure of the existence of minds other than my own? We should urgently review the concept of \"internal representation\", and its derivatives, such as the \"internal object\", probably also that of \"object of the self\", internalization and many others. Relational psychoanalysis, within the great variety of existing proposals, puts the origin of the psyche in the group, starting with the family group, departs from the energetic metapsychology but does not accept an exclusively hermeneutic version, but pays special attention to the evolutionary trauma and the attributions and family myths at the origin of the pathology.","PeriodicalId":318287,"journal":{"name":"Clínica e Investigación Relacional","volume":"73 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132876439","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper is meant to share the emotional and therapeutic difficulties I went through at the beginning of my clinical practice. Some theoretical, but mainly practical concepts from Harry Stack Sullivan and Sandra Buechler have helped me bear the struggles of the novice experience in the clinical setting and have also helped me locate paths for therapeutic action. Mostly, I emphasize on the importance of curiosity, not only as an emotion, but also as a clinical value that allows us to deepen in the therapeutic experience. Curiosity, along with an active inquiry, guide us ahead of the uncertainties and ambiguities of the professional work experience. Coming out of the novice darkness experience has been possible due to the calm, inspiration, and guidance that these two authors have offered me throughout their works.","PeriodicalId":318287,"journal":{"name":"Clínica e Investigación Relacional","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124839301","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
