The research was conducted on a sample of 400 inhabitants of the Silesian Voivodeship (Poland). The region of the Silesian Voivodeship is, in this respect, a specific region in Poland - highly urbanized, industrialized with a rich communication and transport infrastructure. The analyzed research was based on the results of a survey conducted using a questionnaire based on selected socio-demographic characteristics, considering the current distribution characterizing the inhabitants of the Silesian Voivodeship. Supporting factors and areas of expected support in starting a business activity were identified, as well as factors limiting the interest and readiness to start such activity. The results indicate that the main obstacles are the lack of financial support for starting, fear of risk, lack of access to information on the possibilities of financial support, frequent changes in legal regulations, lack of updating knowledge regarding the possibilities of financing and starting a business, lack of support in strengthening skills. in managing all areas of management of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises. An interesting result with a sociological dimension is the support of family and relatives in terms of motivation to start a business.","PeriodicalId":315981,"journal":{"name":"System Safety: Human - Technical Facility - Environment","volume":"61 3","pages":"359 - 369"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139190732","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Agriculture is recognized as one of the most hazardous industries, second only to construction. The study delves into the reasons for the high incidence of accidents, which include a tolerance for risky behaviors, poor engagement, lack of proper risk assessment, and inadequate safety regulations. By analyzing data from the International Labour Organization and other relevant sources, the research identifies the primary risks faced by agricultural workers, such as mechanical, chemical, biological hazards, and accidents involving animals and machinery. The findings highlight the necessity of comprehensive safety education, technological improvements, and legal regulations to mitigate these risks. The goal is to provide a thorough understanding of the current safety landscape in agriculture and to propose actionable strategies to enhance occupational safety and health.","PeriodicalId":315981,"journal":{"name":"System Safety: Human - Technical Facility - Environment","volume":"68 4","pages":"212 - 223"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139191446","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

On the other hand, the significant volumes of reconstruction in Ukraine will require studies of the work of various RC structures strengthened under different load levels. In addition to choosing the method of strengthening itself, the relevant tasks will be studies of bearing capacity, crack resistance, reliability (including residual resource) of structures, etc. This article presents the method of crack resistance experimental study of eccentrically compressed RC members. The proposed method was tested on unstrengthened (ordinary) and strengthened (in a stretched zone) RC columns; the results of experimental studies for ordinary and strengthened samples were also obtained. The columns were strengthened with a composite material (from many carbon-fiber-reinforced polymers) – the Sika Carbodur S512 strip. The feature of the crack resistance study of columns was that they were strengthened under the initial load level of 30 %. As a result of experimental research on the samples strengthened under load, we stated that the width of the crack decreased on average by about 36 % (at the comparable values of the active load). In turn, the average maximum length of cracks decreased to about 50 % of the height of the cross-section (for unstrengthened samples, this value was approximately 80 %), and the eccentric compressive ultimate load was increased by about 33 %.","PeriodicalId":315981,"journal":{"name":"System Safety: Human - Technical Facility - Environment","volume":"68 3","pages":"36 - 45"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139187638","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is shown that the majority of them are single-phase circuits, which can cause overvoltages at the point of damage and negatively affect electrical equipment, which can lead to a decrease in economic indicators. The methods of increasing the reliability of distribution networks with a voltage of 6-35 kV have been analyzed. The main attention is focused on the method of increasing reliability due to grounding of the neutral through an arc reactor, the main advantage of which in operation is the continuation of single-phase ground fault operation without disconnection of consumers. A simulation model of the distribution network in single-phase ground fault mode was developed and its main parameters were calculated. The DiGSILENT PowerFactory software complex is used as a simulation environment. A concrete example of parameter calculation when using the proposed simulation model in the DiGSILENT PowerFactory program, which contains 5 overhead and 5 cable power transmission lines with a voltage of 35 kV with a length of 10 to 100 kilometers. The use of this model will make it possible to study transient processes in the mode of single-phase grounding, to prevent emergency situations in distribution networks. The goal of the work ist development of the simulation model of the distribution network in the mode of single-phase circuit to land and the calculation of its basic parameters.","PeriodicalId":315981,"journal":{"name":"System Safety: Human - Technical Facility - Environment","volume":"83 3-4","pages":"350 - 358"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139188706","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is even more complicated if companies strive for the sustainable development of their activities. Therefore, the aim of the article was to develop a method to help predict the direction of product improvement, taking into account its quality level and environmental impact during the life cycle (LCA). The method was based on the design phase of LCA and the process of obtaining and processing customer expectations. Techniques supporting the developed method were: a questionnaire, a seven-point Likert scale, a standardised list of criteria for assessing the product life cycle, the WSM method, and a scale of relative states. The product analysis was carried out according to modified criteria states, which were evaluated according to: i) customer satisfaction (quality criteria), ii) environmental impact of LCA (environmental criteria), and iii) importance of quality and environmental criteria for customers. The originality of the method is to support the product improvement process to make it environmentally friendly within LCA and, at the same time, satisfactory to customers in terms of quality. The method will be used mainly by SMEs that want to initially predict the environmental impact of a product, including taking into account customer expectations.","PeriodicalId":315981,"journal":{"name":"System Safety: Human - Technical Facility - Environment","volume":"23 4","pages":"19 - 27"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139193529","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
