Findings The inclusion of commuting characteristics showed an increase of explained gender wage gap proportion from 14.2% to 22.6%. The commuting time variable contributes to 14.6% of the explained wage gap. Research limitations/implications From the results it can be identified that the increase of women’s commuting time has the potential to reduce gender wage gap in Indonesia. Originality/value Gender wage gap is a labor market discrimination issue that persists worldwide, including Indonesia. Previous researches pointed out that the gender wage gap in Indonesia is mainly composed of parts unexplained by demographic, human capital, and job characteristics. While the commuting characteristics have the potential to explain more of the gender wage gap, it is still underexplored in Indonesia.","PeriodicalId":31557,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Indonesian Applied Economics","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41892189","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Design/methodology/approach In this paper, the graduate students of Guizhou University are targeted, and the specific impacts of COVID-19 on their personal safety, extra costs, self-control ability and employment are expounded. Findings The study founds that to support university graduate students during the prevention and control period, focus on establishing effective psychological support mechanisms and self-discipline development programs. Provide accessible counseling services and mental health awareness campaigns while enhancing resources to boost self-control and time management skills, especially for remote studying. Additionally, reinforce employment services with improved career guidance and job placement support, and address enrollment pressure through better communication and mentorship initiatives Research limitations/implications In this context, it is necessary to study the obstacles and problems brought by the COVID-19 epidemic to the study of graduate students in universities and try to resolve the adverse effects caused by the epidemic. Design/methodology/approach The study makes use of an annual data spanning from 1980 to 2021, the data is collected from International monetary fund. To ensure the order of integration of variables, the study used Fourier LM unit root test and Minimum LM unit root test. The study uses maki cointegration test with multiple structural breaks to examine the long run relationship between the variables in the presence of structural breaks. Findings Maki cointegration test confirmed a long run relationship between exports and imports of goods and services. The results indicate that the current account sustainability of South Africa is weakly. Research limitations/implications This study did not consider the effect of nonlinearities in the modelling processes. Another drawback of this study is that it did not use frequency analysis such as wavelet /Fourier transform since the current account can be affected by volatilities in the domestic and global markets. Therefore, for future studies it will be better if they overcome the limitations of this study. Originality/value This study focuses specifically on the issue of current account sustainability, taking into consideration the possible consequences of structural changes brought about by South Africa's prior economic crises. In addition, this study recommends the devaluation of currency for South Africa to ensure that the exports always exceed imports or the improvement in the current account deficit.","PeriodicalId":31557,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Indonesian Applied Economics","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135827754","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It applies the UTAUT to the coal mining sector, focusing on five main aspects. Design/Methodology/Approach This study employs a systematic literature review (SLR) to analyze data from 13 selected papers on mobile app usage as digital technology. Data from 2014 to 2022 were gathered using the Scopus database, revealing insights into UTAUT-related research trends in the mining industry. Findings Reviewing the chosen papers reveals a strong link between tech adoption and leadership in coal mining. Empowered leadership notably drives technology adoption, positively impacting knowledge processes among followers. Research Limitations/Implications It recognizes that the systematic literature review offers valuable insights but findings could be constrained by available relevant papers. Future research might delve into more tech adoption and leadership aspects in coal mining to boost understanding. Originality/Value This research fills a gap by deeply examining technology adoption with UTAUT in coal mining. Given limited existing research, this study contributes insights and knowledge about digital tech in this field. Moreover, exploring leadership empowerment as a unique form adds originality and value to the research.","PeriodicalId":31557,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Indonesian Applied Economics","volume":"98 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135827755","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Findings As a result, it was found that the Busdev&IT Department had the most information security risks (35 risks out of 384 total risks), which required further treatment based on the established risk appetite. Therefore, vigilance on the use of information systems in the laboratory needs to be increased in terms of information security. The aim was to improve financial literacy and behavior among students through interventions. The study deepened understanding of self-efficacy's role in university students' financial behavior. Design/methodology/approach In quantitative research, researchers employ SEM, specifically PLS, to examine self-efficacy and financial behavior in university students. The study has 100 student respondents and uses SEM-PLS for complex analysis, aiming to offer empirical evidence for hypotheses. Findings could significantly enrich comprehension of self-efficacy's influence on financial behavior in college students. Finding Results show a positive link between variables. Higher self-efficacy relates to improved financial behavior. Confident individuals budget, save, and make wise financial choices. This underscores the need to enhance self-efficacy in interventions for better student financial behavior. Overall, findings emphasize self-efficacy's pivotal role in shaping financial behavior. Research limitations/implications This study offers empirical evidence of a positive link between self-efficacy and financial behavior, broadening understanding. It highlights psychological factors in financial behavior and extends self-efficacy's role in financial management literature. Financial education programs should enhance self-efficacy for better financial management, benefiting students' overall well-being.
