This paper presents an analysis between the relationship of social media use to mental health issues in 262 adolescents. In this study, we applied Structural Engineering Modeling (SEM) to analyze factors of social media addiction and how it contributes to mental health issues. We measured mobile usage, emotional investment on social media, sleep quality, self-esteem and levels of stress, anxiety and depression. Results implies that those people who are highly invested in social media experienced poor sleep quality, lower self-esteem and higher levels of stress, anxiety and depression. These findings suggest that excessive use of smartphones due to social media can be linked to negative psychological characteristics and possibly lead to suicidal ideation.","PeriodicalId":315518,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2021 3rd International Conference on Management Science and Industrial Engineering","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124201646","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Coefficients of dynamic friction between the skin of the index finger and test plates of five textures were estimated for six Asian males while exerting 1, 10, 20 Newton normal forces. The test plates were made of polycarbonate with100%, 75%, 50% or 25% skin contact areas. The results showed that the coefficients of dynamic friction increased as the contact area increased, and decreased as the exerted normal force increased. The measured coefficients of dynamic friction were also compared to the results reported by Bobjer et al.’s article appeared in print on 1993. Two-sample t-test statistical analysis was used to evaluate the differences between the mean values of the coefficients of dynamic friction obtained in these two studies. Out of fifteen test plate-normal force combinations, only one test plate-normal force combination showed statistically significant difference in the coefficients of dynamic friction. In conclusion, the device designed and fabricated at the Chaoyang University of Technology (CYUT) Occupational Ergonomics Laboratory can serve the purpose to characterize the coefficient of dynamic friction between the fingertip pad and surface of potential handle materials where more subjects should also be recruited in the near future to further verify the results.","PeriodicalId":315518,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2021 3rd International Conference on Management Science and Industrial Engineering","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115849004","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research model uses the basic attributes of m-LBS which consists of nine dimensions with 29 attributes in it, and uses revised IPA method to identify attributes that need to be improved. The advantages of revised IPA there are three additional factors, namely basic factors, performance factors and excitement factors useful to complete the existing factors in conventional IPA. The study analyzed data on 301 suitable questionnaires collected from customers aged 17 years and over who had used online motorcycle services in Indonesia, especially Jakarta, Yogyakarta and central Java. The results of this study show that there are two indicators that are the main priority of improvement, namely RL1: The service is provided stably without error and IQ1: I can easily access the service provider whenever I have a problem.","PeriodicalId":315518,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2021 3rd International Conference on Management Science and Industrial Engineering","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130534414","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This problem considers the influence of the duration under work continuity and non-continuity, in order to comply with the relationship of project cost, project makespan and resource effectiveness. To solve the problem, multi-objective repetitive project scheduling model is proposed, and an cloud genetic algorithm is designed, which uses randomness and stability of Normal Cloud Model to generate priority of repetitive project scheduling activities and obtain repetitive project scheduling plan. The results showed that, in repetitive projects under work continuity and non-continuity, the performance comparison shows that the cloud genetic algorithm significantly outperforms the previous multi-objective algorithm.","PeriodicalId":315518,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2021 3rd International Conference on Management Science and Industrial Engineering","volume":"186 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116532123","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Detecting unknown events and anomalies in time series data is challenging due to the presence of noise, seasonalities and long-term trends. Data-driven methods applied to identify such patterns are called anomaly detection. Typically, the amount of available abnormal data, e.g. failure states in manufacturing plants, is not sufficient to construct an explicit model. Novelty detection is a special form of anomaly detection which detects when a data point differs from the majority of data. In this work, a novel approach to detect anomalous patterns and events in real-world time series data is proposed. The novelty detection approach is based on deep generative learning and utilizes natural properties of the variational autoencoder to create a novelty indicator. Therefore, a wide range of deterministic and stochastic novelty scores calculated in the latent and original data space are combined. The combination of these novelty scores leads to a novelty indicator that accurately detects novel events in real-world time series data. An experimental study evaluates the method on data collected at an electrocoating plant which was affected by internal and external disturbances. The proposed method is benchmarked against other state of the art methods and achieves highly competitive results.","PeriodicalId":315518,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2021 3rd International Conference on Management Science and Industrial Engineering","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114428438","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

ORH platform acts as an intermediary and their main job is to match passenger requests to the driver. Drivers and passengers might accept or reject the assignment result based on their individual preferences. From the platform's standpoint, it is necessary to ensure that the acceptance likelihood is high. To do this, the platform needs to consider each party's interests, and it often involves a multi-objective characteristic. Drivers are income-sensitive, while passengers are interested in a safe trip, low trip price, and short pickup distance. Several researchers have considered these factors in their assignment model but overlooked the possibility of dependency among factors as well as the heterogeneity of drivers and passenger's behavior. In this paper, we propose an assignment model which considers the multi-objective characteristic, factors dependency, and customer behavior's heterogeneity. A weighted-sum multi-objective optimization model is used to find the optimal solution, which allows us to incorporate the interests of the ORH platform, drivers, and passengers into the model. We defined how the trip price could affect the driver's and passenger's pickup distance tolerance and solved simultaneously the assignment and trip price determination. We tested the model developed using hypothetical data and showed that the solution of the model is better compared to the output of the general assignment models which use a distance minimization policy.","PeriodicalId":315518,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2021 3rd International Conference on Management Science and Industrial Engineering","volume":"148 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123320460","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This calamity has changed various aspects of human life activities to prevent the spread of a very dangerous and deadly disease. The role of information technology as a social media for the community is important in reducing direct social interaction between humans. Therefore, transmission of coronavirus 19 can be prevented. With no exception, social life related to the public education activities are changing as well. This study is intended to see the impact of changes in social interaction in the online education process using information technology facilities on the changes in student personality behavior patterns. Students who were the objects of the research are engineering and non-engineering collage students. The purpose of the study to obtain important information about the possibility of changes in the student's personality behaviour patterns after using information technology for some time in the teaching-learning process. It is the first step for further exploration in reducing the negative impact of online technology to support the teaching-learning process during coronavirus 19 pandemic. The results showed that online learning made both engineering and non-engineering students more introversion, antagonist, lack of direction, neuroticism, and closedness to experience. In terms of the differences between engineering and non-engineering students, it is found that online learning encourages engineering students to be more individualistic, asocial, impolite, and irresponsible compared to non-engineering students. In other words, online learning had more effects toward the personality patterns of engineering students than non-engineering students.","PeriodicalId":315518,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2021 3rd International Conference on Management Science and Industrial Engineering","volume":"103 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123028536","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In Indonesia, the number of container throughput has reached 12.85 million TEUs in 2018. In providing fast and efficient port services, container terminals (CT) constantly face complex problems on its everyday operation, one of the operational level problems occurred at CT is Container Stowage Problem (CSP). CSP is an NP-Hard Problem, therefore metaheuristic algorithm is used to solve the problem. This study proposed the use of Global, Local, and Neighborhood – Particle Swarm Optimization (GLN-PSO) algorithm to solve CSP. The basic idea of GLN-PSO is emphasize on the particle movement that considers multiple social learning structures. GLN-PSO algorithm is a development of the PSO algorithm that has been used in previous studies and is proven to outperform Bee Swarm algorithm. In this study, GLN-PSO is used to solve two types of data, namely small instances (consist of 5-27 containers) and medium instances (consist of 100-140 containers). The result showed that for small instances, GLN-PSO can outperform the PSO algorithm in terms of objective function value by 0.72% and in terms of computational time by 0,172 seconds. For medium instances, GLN-PSO has not been able to outperform the PSO algorithm by producing a gap of 27% for the objective function and 8,2 seconds for computational time","PeriodicalId":315518,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2021 3rd International Conference on Management Science and Industrial Engineering","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122678237","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A better understanding of Critical Success Factors (CSFs) of BCM will increase the chance of success in applied projects, which is still not clearly identified. This study aims to fill in this gap. The potential success factors were identified by using the Delphi study with ten BCM experts. Then, they have been identified as four main categories and twenty sub-categories. According to this, a questionnaire was created and distributed to employees who have experience of involving with the BCM project in the research company. In total, 22 effective surveys were collected, and the response rate is 85%. Further, the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) was used to analyze the questionnaire survey. As a result of AHP, the consistency values (CR) of all categories were calculated less than 0.1, which reveals that the decisions made by all the employees were consistent. The results show that the BCM Capability is the most important category leading to the BCM success. In the BCM capability, the most influential sub-categories was identified as Competent BCM project manager, Mutual understanding among BCM team members, BCM expertise of BCM team members, Strong relationship and involvement of BCM team members, and Aligned BCM needs of team members, respectively.","PeriodicalId":315518,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2021 3rd International Conference on Management Science and Industrial Engineering","volume":"3547 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127518619","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
