It has been shown that how the transmission line model can still be used to determine the input characteristic over a large band of frequencies with minor adjustments. The models developed by Deanley and Pues have been chosen as the basis for this work as they fairly complete and give good results. Pues model has been applied with adjustment for fundamental mode, whereas for obtaining accurate model for higher modes, Wilkinson power divider is used to combine them and filters and matching networks are added to obtain broadband circuit model, the effect of higher order modes excited in the patch, can easily be incorporated in CAD software, with little computational effort. Eventually, we have introduced a broadband circuit model for rectangular microstrip antennas. Finally our results are compared with the results obtained form Method of Moment for same antennas.","PeriodicalId":315133,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Conference on Microwave and Millimeter Wave Technology","volume":"16 2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134359973","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The traditional methods of peak power measurement can no longer fully satisfy its test requirements. So the statistical methods are introduced to analyze the characteristics of the digitally modulated signals. In this paper, the techniques used in peak power measurement are firstly proposed. Then the usual probability functions and their implementations in a peak power analyzer are discussed in detail. According to the complex digitally modulated signals in modern wireless communications and their power measurement demand, the statistical method of CCDF is fully studied. Emphasis is placed on the selection of modulation scheme, the design and test of RF component and the evaluation of spread-spectrum. In the end we draw a conclusion that CCDF can effectively describe the power statistical characteristics of digitally modulated signals and is becoming a necessary design and testing tool in wireless communication.","PeriodicalId":315133,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Conference on Microwave and Millimeter Wave Technology","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-06-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126683916","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The model of probability density function (PDF) is studied. The results of measurements are analyzed with respect to the corresponding ideal theoretical model. The function is observed over a frequency range that allows for the conditions in the chamber to vary from under-moded operation to overmoded operation (1 GHz- 9 GHz). Ultimately, the paper states that the distribution of the field power density at the certain position in the RC fits a Weibull distribution.","PeriodicalId":315133,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Conference on Microwave and Millimeter Wave Technology","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-04-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115365646","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this report, new fractal bandpass filters using equilateral triangular patch resonator are presented to implement high performances of multi-transmission zeros, wide passband and stopband, and low passband insertion loss as well as miniaturization. Using fractal defection in patch, multi higher order modes are driven for coupling a much wider passband, and parasitical harmonics are effectively suppressed as well. Compared with some literatures, sizes of the new filters reduced and performances are greatly enhanced. The proposed filters have compact and simple structures, small sizes, high selectivity and so on, and all these features are the requirement of wireless communication systems.","PeriodicalId":315133,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Conference on Microwave and Millimeter Wave Technology","volume":"92 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-04-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124424290","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The first kind of filter uses conventional LC-type resonators with a feed back capacitor between the input and output. The second kind of filter exploits multilayer coupled stripline structure configuration, the structure shows the promising application potential in miniaturized RF components. The measured results of first kind of filter agree very well with the full-wave electromagnetic simulation results. One CSRR can couple to the other through electric coupling, magnetic coupling and mixed electromagnetic coupling respectively. Different coupling structures can cause different frequency responses, especially the stopband characteristics and the position of transmission poles. In order to find the influence of coupling spacing, a novel compact ultra-wideband (UWB) low-pass filter using double CSRRs is proposed. By adjusting the coupling spacing between two CSRRs, the spurious passband can be successfully suppressed. The stopband shows ultra-wideband and excellent insertion loss characteristics.","PeriodicalId":315133,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Conference on Microwave and Millimeter Wave Technology","volume":"74 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-04-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117115410","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The weighted mean temperature estimated from the regressed formula is higher than that from the Bevis formula when the surface temperature increases, which introduces the difference of approximate 1.9% of the GPS precipitable water vapor when the surface temperature gets to 40degC, and smaller difference in the lower surface temperature. The different regressions between different years induce the difference of 0.72% of the GPS PWV when the surface temperature reaches 40degC, and the difference of 2.17% of the GPS PWV in the surface temperature of -10degC. It suggests that the regressed formula to estimate the weighted mean temperature will be beneficial for the estimation of the GPS PWV in the summer, while it has little positive impact on the estimation in the winter.","PeriodicalId":315133,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Conference on Microwave and Millimeter Wave Technology","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-04-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117233057","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed scheme is a closed-loop MIMO system, and the tradeoff between the diversity and multiplexing gains that can simultaneously achieved over a low-rate feedback channel with limited bits. Based on this criterion, a low complexity decision algorithm is proposed. The proposed scheme improves the performance of the receivers, achieves good performance close to the optimal algorithm, has much lower cost, and meets the real-time and rapidity requirements of communication systems.
