This question is related to the diversity of the criteria integrated in the decision-making, and to the very great number of possible space alternatives. We propose in this article an approach of aid to the industrial localization decision by profiting from the advantages offered by the geographical information systems to multiple representation compounds to the AHP method and from the advantages of the mathematical programming models. The use of a GISMR combined with AHP will help us to reduce the number of the space alternatives and to evaluate them according to real criteria of decision which are quantitative or qualitative. The evaluations obtained will be integrated in a mathematical model to make the final choice of the best alternatives. In fact this model is used to identify the best solution taking into account the criteria fixed by the decision-maker and the data provisions generated by the GISMR.","PeriodicalId":314768,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Symposium on Computational Intelligence and Intelligent Informatics","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-03-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129990067","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The development of such systems is mainly driven by the social demand that the citizens want to see safer, more reliable vehicles on the roads, which can also handle more complex situations than the human driver can. Redundant electronic systems confront us with new challenges in reliability analysis, since handling and defining their back-up strategies is not a straightforward task by means of using qualitative approaches. It is also questionable whether the well-known approaches of classical reliability theory are appropriate for redundant electronic systems, especially if they are of safety critical nature, such as the electronic brake system that has been used in commercial vehicles in Europe for almost a decade. The paper presents a less widespread and a more widespread technique through reliability theory, which enable the designer organizing functions and subsystems, failures and logical relationships between failures from the system level up-to the last component without missing any of them.","PeriodicalId":314768,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Symposium on Computational Intelligence and Intelligent Informatics","volume":"68 5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-03-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132793830","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Exact estimation or measuring of the absorbed energy by the deformation is almost impossible, so we apply an estimation for this. The classical tool for this task is usually a differential equation based finite element method, which requires exact knowledge about the parameters. In the following we introduce a simple numerical model describing the changing of the energy distribution during the whole deformational process. The main idea is similar to a finite element method: let have a 3D rectangular grid on the car-body, according to the energy absorbing properties of the vehicle, so each cell is approximately homogenous. For For each cell a monotonous decreasing function is assigned , which describes approximately the rate of the absorbed and the input energy. For different possible directions of the impact we define different absorbing functions, and instead of the original input, we deal with its orthogonal components, so the final result then will be the sum of the particular result.","PeriodicalId":314768,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Symposium on Computational Intelligence and Intelligent Informatics","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-03-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133544308","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This method differs from the commonly used ones by defining the term \"cluster\" in an alternative way: a cluster can even be a set of vertices that don't connect to each other at all, provided that they have the same connectional preference to other vertices. First, a short overview of the current state of the art will be given. Then the underlying theory of this alternative clustering method will be explained and a possible implementation will be proposed. To support the validity of this approach, benchmark results on computer-generated graphs as well as two real applications are presented.","PeriodicalId":314768,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Symposium on Computational Intelligence and Intelligent Informatics","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-03-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131295674","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A large amount of research has been focused on information retrieval and image understanding. Typical examples are searching for similar objects/images in large databases and understanding the objects in images. The main point of these tasks is to extract the most characteristic features of the objects in the images, like edges, corners, characteristic textures, etc. Another very important aspect can be the separation of the \"significant\" and \"unimportant\" parts of these features, i.e. the enhancement of those features which carry primary information and to filter out the part which represents information of minor importance. By this, the complexity of the searching and/or interpreting algorithms can be decreased while the performance increased. This paper describes a new edge processing method which is able to extract the \"primary\", i.e. those edges which can advantageously be used in sketch based image retrieval algorithms.","PeriodicalId":314768,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Symposium on Computational Intelligence and Intelligent Informatics","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-03-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132013773","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Creating the mathematic model for transportation reconstruction needed developing a quick, dynamic programming process which considers the costs of single reconstruction phases and the direct or indirect profit emerging after completing reconstruction works. In the study we examined the application possibilities of the highly prestigious Bellman-theorem. We found that the combinatorial method for optimal distribution of investments is not very efficient in the current issue, although it applies the sequential method and the Bellman-theorem in a remarkable way. The method proposed in the study applies exponential partial profit-functions. The primary advantage is that it solves the problem of the complicated nonlinear dynamic programming on the basis of direct relations, without numeric analysis. Consequently, results are supplied quickly and the method allows solving enormous problems without any constraints.","PeriodicalId":314768,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Symposium on Computational Intelligence and Intelligent Informatics","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-03-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131217405","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
