Nevertheless, a systematic study of these has not started until recent times. As a result, it could be argued that a part of archaeological literature, not specialized on pigmentology, shows sometimes a certain lack of terminological accurateness. With this document we mean to, through an analysis both of the functioning and the geochemical and mineralogical properties of ochre, hematite and iron oxides themselves, expose the need for an appropriate terminology, as well as to show the problems derived from an inadequate naming. Finally, we bring some proposals, which could maybe help on an appropriate terminological standardization.","PeriodicalId":31419,"journal":{"name":"Espacio Tiempo y Forma Serie I Prehistoria y Arqueologia","volume":"15 1","pages":"13-42"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.5944/ETFI.9.2016.16056","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71267420","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These naru originated in Kassite Babylon and were being used until Neo-Babylonian Period (ca. 1400-650 a.C.). The majority of them have been discovered in Susa without contextualizing, because the items which have been found in situ tell us that their original placement was Southern Mesopotamia. In this paper, the main aim is to study the naru corpus, currently formed by 178 items, in a interdisciplinar way, that is to say, analyzing the information which their texts, iconography, materiality, archaeological context, etc. give us. This is the reason why the author of this article will try to define the corpus according to their own inscriptions and according to the main previous studies of several scholars on this subject. Then, the circumstances which could cause the rising and the historical and political events which could affect their development will be studied, together with the geographical context which they expand on. Subsequently, the content of their inscripctions and symbology of their iconography will be analyzed in a comparative approach. Finally, the main results of this research will be shown in a conclusions paragraph.","PeriodicalId":31419,"journal":{"name":"Espacio Tiempo y Forma Serie I Prehistoria y Arqueologia","volume":"1 1","pages":"67-98"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.5944/etfi.9.2016.17229","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71267137","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

La concentracion en un cerro de unas 3 has de cinco yacimientos arqueologicos con distintos modelos de ocupacion, dotan a este conjunto de una singularidad unica. El Parque Arqueologico del Calvero de la Higuera, inaugurado en 2015, busca constituirse como punto de encuentro para aquellos interesados por nuestro pasado mas remoto, asi como en impulso para la economia del Valle. La situacion del Calvero de la Higuera a tan solo 100 km de la ciudad de Madrid y dentro del area de influencia del Parque Nacional de la Sierra de Guadarrama es un aliciente mas que anadir a su importancia cultural. The Pinilla del Valle sites, located in the High Lozoya Valley, are a unique enclave to know more about the way of life and environment of Homo neanderthalensis during the Late Pleistocene. Its singularity lies on the existence of at least five archaeological sites with different models of occupation in a same promontory of 3 has. The Calvero de la Higuera Archaeological Park has been opened in 2015. It will act as a meeting point of those who are interested in our most remote past, as well as a good impulse for the valley economy. De esta manera, a la contextualizacion cronologica de las diferentes fases de la pieza a partir de su estudio formal, hemos unido la identificacion del marmol utilizado, cuyo resultado confirma un origen local (area de O Incio). Este nuevo dato aporta informacion esencial, dada la excepcionalidad de la pieza, para conocer aspectos vinculados a la calidad tecnica de los talleres locales, y consecuentemente sobre las implicaciones economicas, sociales y politicas de este tipo de producciones dentro del noroeste de la Peninsula Iberica. In this paper we present a new study about the Amiadoso plaque (Allariz, Ourense) has been developed, in which this Roman object has been analysed from an interdisciplinary point of view based in the combination of stylistic and archaeometric studies of its material. Consequently, we have linked up the analysis of the different artistic phases of this piece from a formal study with the identification of the marble used, which confirms a local provenance (O Incio area). Para ello resulta esencial la informacion proporcionada por la moderna tradicion historiografica y los resultados obtenidos en las ultimas decadas por la arqueologia urbana y subacuatica, en particular en las areas arqueologicas del teatro romano y del Molinete, que han permitido obtener amplias secuencias ocupacionales de la ciudad historica, desde sus inicios hasta la actualidad. Estos resultados completan el panorama conocido hasta la fecha de la ciudad punica, definida por su elevado grado de helenizacion, y de la romana, caracterizada por las fundaciones republicanas en la acropolis y el proyecto urbanistico-arquitectonico de edad augustea, asi como por el fenomeno de la etnicidad urbana. Ademas, el registro arqueologico constatado recientemente en el Molinete obliga a redefinir la ciudad del siglo III, cuya situacion de crisis y decadencia urbana deben ahora matizarse. This article gives a diachronic account of the evolution of the Punic Qart Hadast and the Roman Carthago Nova (modern Cartagena, province of Murcia, Spain), especially focusing on the most significant landmarks in the process of architectural and urban monumentalisation undergone by the city between the 3rd century BC and the 3rd century AD. For this, historiographical information will be combined with the urban and underwater archaeological data collected in the last few decades, particularly in the areas around the theatre and Molinete, which have uncovered long occupational sequences that cover the whole history of the city. This work has greatly contributed to increasing our knowledge of the Punic city, which was a highly Hellenised enclave, and also of its evolution in the Roman period, including the Republican foundations in the acropolis, the urban-architectural project launched in the Augustan period and the reflection of ethnicity upon the urban structure. In addit ion, recent excavations in Molinete have demonstrated that the notions of crisis a nd urban decadence must be revised, forcing us to rewrite the history of the city in the 3rd century.","PeriodicalId":31419,"journal":{"name":"Espacio Tiempo y Forma Serie I Prehistoria y Arqueologia","volume":"1 1","pages":"13-60"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.5944/ETFI.7.2014.15668","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71266428","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
