Through an engaged participant observation, in which I tried out different fishing practices, I observed the importance of environment for the life of the community and for the construction of my narratives. From this, I propose in the present text, an immersion in the environment and in the perceptions that I experienced during the displacements made with the fishermen. For that, I used a detailed ethnographic narrative of the environment in its entanglement, highlighting the places, the stories told and the beings involved in the observed phenomena","PeriodicalId":312767,"journal":{"name":"Tekoporá Revista Latinoamericana de humanidades ambientales y estudios territoriales","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128735383","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Alto Camaqua region, a mining target since the 18th century, presents a paradox: on one hand it is where the biodiversity of the pampa biome is preserved the most, on the other hand, it is considered as the poorest part of the state. In 2014, the transnational companies Nexa Resources (ex-Votorantim Metais) and Iamgold Corporation requested the opening of a mining Project of lead and other heavy metals in the district of Minas of Camaqua, with the expectation of using water from the river. In this sense, this text follows the lida campeira and the lifestyle of the inhabitants of Alto Camaqua, but also the historical mining experience – and resulting terror of it.","PeriodicalId":312767,"journal":{"name":"Tekoporá Revista Latinoamericana de humanidades ambientales y estudios territoriales","volume":"330 2","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114025793","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since that year the Citizen Coordinator of the Maipo Rivers (hereinafter the coordinator) leads a socio-environmental conflict against this project, and warns about the threats to the ecosystem of the River basin and the quality and availability of water for Santiago. In the field of anthropology, as well as in other disciplines, the interest in the ways in which people relate to the environment is not new, from classical ethnography and using tools to know the interaction in virtual social networks, the ways in which the #NoAltoMaipo movement communicated threats from their environmental perspective were analyzed; in which and why has emphasized complaints about the installation of PHAM. In the last decades, the advance of afforestation and agriculture have deepened the displacement of family and medium-sized producers, with the consequent overexploitation of the grassland. The data was collected in all four seasons in the field and four workshops were held in livestosk establishments in the area. The consequences of this process lies with the society, since human welfare is strongly linked to ecosystem services (ES) provision. The participation of local communities is essential for the identification of ES and the threats that compromise them. The aim of this paper was to contribute to territorial planning of Yaguari stream upper basin (Rivera, Uruguay). In order to do this a participatory approach is used, which consist of the analysis of linkages between the supply of ES, social assessment carried out by local population and threats that affect the provision of services. The methodological strategy integrated interviews, surveys and workshops with local population. A Geographic Information System was generated from the information collected, which allowed its spatial analysis. The main results show that the area presents ecosystems of high social values that are threatened by current land uses, helping to determine priority areas for management. This research contributes elements towards the elaboration of participatory strategies of sustainable territorial planning at a local level.","PeriodicalId":312767,"journal":{"name":"Tekoporá Revista Latinoamericana de humanidades ambientales y estudios territoriales","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126372750","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
