These systems have been incorporated into applications ranging from e-commerce to leisure, successfully enhancing user experience. Moreover, recommender systems are now being applied to a wider diversity of emerging context applications on the Internet including social media and online platforms for communities. In this study, we present a novel collaborative filtering recommender system model. This model differentiates from other recommender system models in that it utilizes two aggregation operators, namely OWA and uninorm, to compute similarity degrees between users. We demonstrate the application of the proposed model by integrating it in the HARMONISE platform for communities in the Urban Resilience domain. The application example illustrates how the proposed model of collaborative filtering recommender system can predict content of interest to users in the platform, based not only on user preferences but also on features of their user profile.","PeriodicalId":312629,"journal":{"name":"2015 10th International Conference on Intelligent Systems and Knowledge Engineering (ISKE)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132705969","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, sharing user-item preferential data for use in collaborative filtering poses significant privacy and security challenges. In recent years, privacy has attracted a lot of attention. There are many existing works on privacy-preserving collaborative filtering. However, while these schemes are theoretically feasible, there are many practical implementation difficulties on real world. In this paper, a privacy-preserving collaborative filtering algorithm based on weighted singular value decomposition is proposed. The users' needs are considered in the algorithm, and the user can disturb their original data with different weights according to their needs. At the privacy-preserving stage, the variable weighted-based BSVD scheme is used to protect the data privacy. At the prediction stage, the improved Slope One algorithm is used to get the prediction. Some experiments are performed using the proposed algorithm. The results indicate a good performance of the scheme in comparison with the Slope One algorithm. Meanwhile, it is shown that the algorithm can preserve the data privacy efficiently with high data usability.","PeriodicalId":312629,"journal":{"name":"2015 10th International Conference on Intelligent Systems and Knowledge Engineering (ISKE)","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123113454","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Production scheduling lies at the heart of the manufacturing systems performance, therefore, a better resolution of scheduling problems will ensure the above objectives. Agent based systems were widely adopted in the literature as dynamic and adaptive approaches capable of enhancing scheduling decisions, relying on their distributed nature as well as the adaptive and intelligent behavior of agents. In this study we present a self-adaptive neural-agent-based decision support system where we integrate a set of neural network (NN) candidates at each control system agent. This integration gave rise to simultaneously exploited agents' communication and NNs' learning capabilities. It builds an innovative agent-based architecture able to make suitable real time scheduling decisions, and to improve the production efficiency based on embedded NNs assistance. Thus, according to our experimental results, the self-adaptive neural-agent-based decision support system was able to effectively and efficiently yield better results for production schedule, especially with respect of the mean tardiness of jobs that was significantly reduced when compared to the outcomes of the other applied methods.","PeriodicalId":312629,"journal":{"name":"2015 10th International Conference on Intelligent Systems and Knowledge Engineering (ISKE)","volume":"412 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115325826","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Visualising higher order information for moving objects is a challenging task due to the marriage between higher order complexity and dynamic nature of moving objects. Treemap is a popular visualisation method to display hierarchical information as a set of nested rectangles, and it is a solid candidate for visualising higher order information. Previous researchers have got less attention to build up treemap with higher order information. This study presents a robust way to represent higher order information for moving objects through treemaps. We emphatically experiment well-studied 7 different treemap layouts for higher order information of moving objects, and evaluate their performance with two metric measures: aspect ratio and distance change.","PeriodicalId":312629,"journal":{"name":"2015 10th International Conference on Intelligent Systems and Knowledge Engineering (ISKE)","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116036046","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Various kinds of metaheuristic algorithms, aiming at finding an acceptable good solution rather than the optimum solution for NP-complete problems, have been studied for parallel execution on GPUs. The simulated annealing algorithm (SA) is one of metaheuristic algorithms and has been widely used on solving hard problems on many application areas. In general, when the number of iterations is decreased, the execution time is shortened but the solution quality becomes poorer. Therefore, it is a hard work for programmers to choose an appropriate number of iterations for the SA algorithm when they parallelize the sequential SA. This paper proposes an approach that optimizes the mapping of the simulated annealing algorithm onto CUDA-enabled GPUs. Unlike the previous research, our goal of this work is to parallel the SA algorithm by setting the number of iterations to that adopted in the sequential version, which results in high speedup and good solution quality.","PeriodicalId":312629,"journal":{"name":"2015 10th International Conference on Intelligent Systems and Knowledge Engineering (ISKE)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114286587","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Motivated by these needs, this paper aims to study how to achieve agility in sustainable supply chains by exploiting the state of the art information technologies. Our goal is to develop architecture and propose a solution methodology to endow the actors with the ability to configure sustainable supply chain network quickly, flexibly and cost effectively. Managing workflows in sustainable supply chains is a challenging issue due to the computational complexity involved, distributed architecture and dependency among different partners' workflows. To respond to these challenges, we propose a framework to achieve coherent and consistent workflows that can meet order requirements based on multi-agent systems (MAS). To achieve sustainability and reduce the cost and time involved in software development, we propose an approach that combines contract net protocol, workflow models and optimization theory. We implement a prototype system based on industrial standards, including FIPA and the Petri net workflow specification model.
