The data on special education teachers’ attitudes towards special education curriculum and teaching were selected. Descriptive statistics, one-sample t-test, independent sample t-test, and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) were used to analyze the data and compared with the data of special education teachers’ attitudes towards special education curriculum and teaching in the National Survey of Special Education Teacher Professional Development (NSETPDS). The results indicated that the cognitive response of special education teachers in Guangdong Province to the special education curriculum and teaching attitude is positive (M=1.81, SD=0.51), significantly higher than that of the national special education teachers. The emotional response and general attitude were positive but significantly lower than that of the national special education teachers. The attitude of male special education teachers toward the special education curriculum and teaching was significantly higher than that of female special education teachers. Special education teachers with more than 20 years of teaching experience had a more positive attitude towards special education curriculum and teaching than those with 1-5 years of teaching experience. Based on the analysis of the research results, some suggestions are put forward to provide a basis for the professional development of teachers in Guangdong Province.","PeriodicalId":31190,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Research and Advances in Mathematics Education","volume":"17 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88294615","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study aimed to determine the difficulties teachers perceive during their English teaching to young learners with EOI in China. This case study’s data consisted of a survey, in-class observation, and in-depth interviews with two teachers in an English institute in Shenzhen. Results from thematic analysis of the data show that teachers face three types of difficulties, including teacher-related, student-related, and institutional. Teachers’ use of Chinese in lessons, lack of related pedagogic skills and experience, personalities, and self-recognition lead to teacher-related difficulties. Young learners’ short attention spans and safety issues are concluded as student-related difficulties. Institutional difficulties are the headmaster’s management style and appointed textbooks.","PeriodicalId":31190,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Research and Advances in Mathematics Education","volume":"89 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88693923","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One must be aware of the various indicators surrounding this very important phenomenon. In this study, the researchers endeavored to surface students’ level of awareness of the DRRM indicators. The approach was quantitative, and the research methods were descriptive and comparative. The technique in gathering data was through a questionnaire administered via Google form. The study was conducted in the college department of Saint Mary’s University with 495 participants. The study recorded more female respondents coming from the four schools of SMU, and most respondents were those who did not have any DRRM-related organization. The findings showed a good level of awareness of disaster risk reduction. However, as evidenced by the lower mean ratings in human resources, programs and activities, and structural resilience, it could be concluded that some students are not aware of some of the standards and protocols of local and national DRR programs and activities. It was also found that regardless of Sex and School, respondents’ awareness of disaster and its programs do not vary that much. However, DRRM-related organizations could be considered a factor that affects the perception of students’ level of awareness of DRRM programs and activities. Moreover, students’ perceptions do not vary when compared across the seven DRRM indicators.","PeriodicalId":31190,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Research and Advances in Mathematics Education","volume":"14 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81739515","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Fullan and Langworthy’s (2018) core principles of 21st-century skills, such as creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, cooperation, and character education, are closely related to deep learning, which has been demonstrated to lead to better learning outcomes. PBL is an innovative teaching approach that has been recognized as an effective pedagogical strategy for enhancing student learning. The study will draw on constructivism and Bloom’s taxonomy to examine the three stages of deep learning in PBL classes and assess how well the author’s personal PBL teaching experience promoted deep learning for their students. The study will present a literature review of PBL and deep learning, followed by a description of the PBL session, its three stages, and the shortcomings of the learning process that occurred. Finally, the study will conclude with the author’s reflections on their teaching session.","PeriodicalId":31190,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Research and Advances in Mathematics Education","volume":"36 5 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83838965","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As an important subject, physical education has a direct impact on the quality and level of physical education in China in terms of knowledge and skills. Therefore, physical education has received more and more attention. Physical education teachers are the key factors that determine the effectiveness of physical education. Through the investigation of the teaching situation of PE teachers in remote primary schools, it is found that most of them are part-time teachers. They are tired of teaching ideas, heavy teaching tasks and traditional teaching methods, which can not meet the needs of the rapid development of sports today. Through field investigation, this study explains the difficulties in the teaching of primary school physical education teachers, finds out the causes, and puts forward some feasible suggestions for these specific problems.","PeriodicalId":31190,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Research and Advances in Mathematics Education","volume":"98 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80883541","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is an important decision made at the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China to do a good job in early childhood education and realize “early childhood education” through a multi-pronged approach. This chapter uses the literature method and standard analysis method to summarize and analyze the papers on preschool education management published by CNKI in the past ten years, and draws the conclusion that researchers focus on the research of government management responsibility, the research of primary school tendency, and the research of private kindergarten management. It is expected that the study of preschool education management will be deeply explored in the policy level, the construction of teachers and the safety of kindergartens, so as to improve the preschool education management.","PeriodicalId":31190,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Research and Advances in Mathematics Education","volume":"24 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85491971","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This method can be used in education for a variety of behavior changes, such as to improve individual learning habits, academic performance, weight control, daily habits and so on. It is also conducive to the improvement of individual self-management ability. In the implementation of the behavior contract, the educator and the educated must respect each other and agree on the relevant content through the form of consultation. This helps them to enhance the self-binding behavior of the parties and make them more willing to comply with the terms of the contract. Whether to make the contract public or not, educators should handle it carefully according to the personality characteristics of the parties and the characteristics of the acts in the contract. Educators also need to obtain the consent of the parties before making public the deed of conduct.","PeriodicalId":31190,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Research and Advances in Mathematics Education","volume":"152 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77469213","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
