The spectrum of the clinical manifestations includes from the classical picture of systemic sclerosis to cases of scleroderma and scleromyxedema. To date, less than 10 cases of this type of paraneoplastic skin syndromes related to prostate cancer have been reported [3,4].","PeriodicalId":311273,"journal":{"name":"General Internal Medicine and Clinical Innovations","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132363673","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They comprise about 60-70% of the white cells in humans and other animals [1]. Neutrophils a part of the polymorphonuclear leukocyte cell family along with eosinophils and basophils. Neutrophils become “activated” during the early stages of infection or inflammation due to allergens or some other type of environmental exposure, and are one of the first cell types to arrive “on scene” [2,3]. They are recruited to sites of injury or trauma within minutes. They are activated or recruited to do so by chemokines such as IL-8 and C5a. Neutrophils have a maximum life span of under 140 hours [4]. They are continually replenished in healthy individuals.","PeriodicalId":311273,"journal":{"name":"General Internal Medicine and Clinical Innovations","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115022896","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Unemployment is a great problem particularly in developing countries including Ethiopia. course, every country in the world striving to face with the limitations of the wage employment and public sectors and is turning, either by plan or by plain force of need, to the informal sector and self-employment to help address the unemployment problem. Therefore, for increasing productive employment the remedy would be by boosting the science and technology strategy. This policy, the government claims, has been led by the science and is based largely on the mathematical modelling developed at Imperial College London [2]. This modelling predicted that, without mitigation measures being imposed, the NHS would be completely overwhelmed and many thousands of lives lost. These mitigation measures have been well documented and involve, among other things; closure of universities and closure of schools. Beyond these modelled scenarios, on March 23rd the total ‘lockdown’ was imposed with complete closure of shops, bars, restaurants, sport and all forms of social gathering, with people being told to stay home and all non-essential journeys banned, a restriction enforced by law [3]. The introduction of these draconian measures are intended to reduce transmission of the virus, lower the magnitude of the epidemic peak and extend the epidemic curve into the summer months, hence reducing daily demand for NHS resources to a more manageable level. Surprisingly, the science underpinning this decision making has received very little critical analysis by the scientific and economic communities. The Imperial Model, first developed to understand the evolution of an Influenza Pandemic in the early 2000s, had not been published, or opened to scrutiny, before it led politicians to shutdown normal daily living in the UK, France, USA and many other countries.","PeriodicalId":311273,"journal":{"name":"General Internal Medicine and Clinical Innovations","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129938388","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study was aimed at evaluating the curative potentials of Citrus aurantifolia (Lime) juice extract on cadmium chloride induced ovary tissue toxicity. Female Sprague Dawley adults were grouped into six (n=5), Group A–Group F. All the groups were subjected to 48 hours fasting. Group B, group C, group D and group F were induced with double dose of 0.5 mg/kg body weight of Cadmium chloride (CdCl 2 ) orally using oral gastric tube. Group A and group E were exposed to 0.5 ml/kg of physiological saline. The rats were allowed access to food and water post 24 hours of drug administration. Group B, C, D and group E were further subjected to treatment with lime juice twice daily for 6 weeks post 72 hours of exposure to cadmium chloride while Group F was left untreated. Group B was treated with 1 ml/100 kg weight of fresh Citrus aurantifolia (Lime) juice ; group C received 1.5 ml/100 kg of fresh lime juice while group D and Group E received 2 ml/100 kg of fresh lime juice respectively twice a day for six weeks. Photomicrograph shows abnormal ovary epithelium with spindle to round cells scattered in a collagenous background and failure of oocyte development. Pulmonary manifestations are often revealing and found in nearly 90% of cases, often associated with neurological symptoms in most cases [2]. On the other hand, the appearance of a serious isolated brain syndrome without respiratory signs remains exceptional. We report a case of fat embolism with isolated brain syndrome following a displaced fracture of the ascending branch of the left mandibular bone.","PeriodicalId":311273,"journal":{"name":"General Internal Medicine and Clinical Innovations","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126332349","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
