Las autoridades navales, como el cuatralbo de las galeras y muchos oficiales –y muchos de los regidores municipales- fueron austracistas y no borbonicos, por lo que en 1706 entregaron la ciudad a las fuerzas navales britanicas. El dominio ingles duro menos de seis meses –a diferencia de Alicante, donde fue mas largo- pues Cartagena fue recuperada en noviembre de 1706 por tropas borbonicas. Pero tal situacion implico la caida de Oran en manos argelinas, que no fue recuperada hasta 1732. A pesar de ello Cartagena participo en la preparacion de las expediciones de Cataluna (1710-1714), Cerdena y Sicilia (1717-1719) u otras, aunque tales expediciones salieron de Alicante y no de Cartagena. En estas preparaciones destacaron algunos comerciantes de la ciudad, como Julio Antonio Chereguini y Pedro Antonio Pereti, genoveses EnglishThe naval base of Cartagena, which was the post of galleys in Spain since 1668, was very affected in the War of the Spanish Succession. The naval authorities, like the cuatralbo of the galleys and many officers -and many of the municipal regidores -wereAustrian and not Bourbon, so in 1706 they delivered the city to the British naval forces. The English domain lasted less than six months -unlike Alicante, where it was longer -as Cartagena was recovered in November 1706 by Bourbon troops. But such a situation meant the fall of Oran into Algerian hands, which was not recovered until 1732. The development of this litigation makes possible, from the documents of the practice and its comparison with the legislation to use, an approach to the public notary of Cadiz at the beginning of the 16th century, based on institutional aspects such as personal, moral and aptitude requirements demanded both to the aspiring clerk as the notary public, as well as to the official means of access to the notarial offices and the private forms of transmission thereof. El poligrafo gallego Jose Cornide fue un personaje relevante en la cultura del setecientos espanol, fundamentalmente por sus investigaciones acerca de la historia y la geografia. En este caso vamos a tratar una faceta poco conocida de su obra, como es la de fundamentar sus aportaciones dentro de las lineas del proyectismo que mencionamos anteriormente. De igual forma, y a traves del analisis de algunos de sus trabajos, se podra constatar las preocupaciones de este caballero corunes por la educacion y el bienestar de sus conciudadanos EnglishDuring the eighteenth century different projects were launched, by different authors, with the aim of solving the diverse problems of the nation and its citizens, promoted with a philanthropic and national feeling. The Galician polygraph Jose Cornide was a relevant figure in the culture of the 1700s in Spain, mainly for his research on history and geography. In this case, we will deal with a so far unknown facet of his work, specifically his contributions within the lines of utilitarianism and projectism mentioned above.
