The framework of the Islamic financial system (IFS) is laid on shariah injunctions, drawn on the Quran and Sunnah. The contemporary institutionalization of an IFS is based on secondary sources such as Ijtihād (scholarly research), Ijmā (consensus), Istihsān (public good), and Qiyas (analogical reasoning). The goal of IFS is to furnish an equitable and just financial system that adheres to Maqasid-e-Shariah and enacts social well-being and welfare (Falāh). The challenge of rising above commercial goals and prioritizing Shariah objectives as a means of socio-economic welfare is yet to be mastered by the Islamic finance industry, both nationally and globally. Real success can only be achieved if shariah adherence vis-a-vis socioeconomic well-being becomes the primary concern of Islamic financial institutions. This article reviews the origins and the progress of IFS during the past five decades. We also articulate the interwoven implications of Islamic financial institutions’ observance of Maqāsid-e-Shariah and socio-economic well-being barriers as the principal objective. Our findings point, towards the strong convergence of shariah and well-being which fundamentally revolve around the prohibition of Ribā not only in Islam but in all three Abrahamic religions i.e. Judaism, Christianity and Islam.","PeriodicalId":310030,"journal":{"name":"International Research Journal on Islamic Studies (IRJIS)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123803898","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Holy Qur’ān, as an everlasting miracle, contains injunctions and rulings to all facets of life for all ages. Tafsir, literally ‘to explain’ is the explanation of Holy Qur’ān. To provide elucidation for better understanding, different kinds of Qur’ānic interpretations are being penned from early Islamic history. Principles of Tafsir, as a separate academic field, developed in the early centuries of Islamic History in different phases. Few Tafsir principles are unanimously agreed upon among exegetes while others are not accepted by all. Thus, dissension in Tafsir principles leads the interpreters to ponder in Qur’ān differently and bring valuable aspects of Qur’ānic teachings into the light. This research paper briefly reviews the fundamental principles of Tafsir and its impacts on Allamah Anayat Allah Khan al-Mashraqīs Tafsir “Tazkirah”. Exegetes of the Subcontinent have contributed significantly to Tafsir Literature. In all interpretations, exegetes established and describe a few principles which they did follow to interpret Holy Qur’ān. Exegeses in the subcontinent can be classified into two major types, Tafsir bi al-Riwāyah (explanation through sound transmissions), and Tafsir bi al-Ra’ay (Interpretation by reasoning). Generally, the latter one was not approved by mainstream Islamic theologians of the subcontinent. Moreover, the comparison and relevancy of Tafsir Tazkirah to traditional Tafsir, as well as, outlook of this modernist exegete, is also a prime concern of this research paper. By adopting qualitative methodology, findings would be concluded in the end.","PeriodicalId":310030,"journal":{"name":"International Research Journal on Islamic Studies (IRJIS)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125259804","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Companions of the Prophet transmitted these readings faithfully to the next generations. These variant readings were subsequently standardized during the second and the third century of the Islamic era. The Muslims developed a consensus on reading the Qur’an according to one of the ten well-known canonical readings. This process continued until modern times when some Muslim modernists embraced scripturalism. Muslim modernists from Pakistan including Amīn Aḥsan Iṣlāḥī (d. 1997) and Javed Ahmad Ghamidi have rejected all the variant readings except the reading of Ḥafṣ ᶜan ᶜĀṣim, declaring the rest of the canonical readings as non-Qur’anic. Ghamidi has repudiated the seven-aḥruf narrative as militating against the Qur’an, commonsense, and history. This article studies Ghamidi’s criticism of the seven-aḥruf narrative through a historical-critical and philologicals method. This investigation shows that the Ḥadīth about the seven aḥruf enjoys overwhelmingly certain support, provides conclusive proof for the permissibility of the variant readings of the Qurᵓān, contrary to the claim of Ghamidi, who rejects it as militating against commonsense and the Qur’an.","PeriodicalId":310030,"journal":{"name":"International Research Journal on Islamic Studies (IRJIS)","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127940887","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Today, mankind is facing plenty of ecological issues globally and natural resources are endangered. Several experts, professionals, and scientists are continuously struggling to find ways for ecological preservation and resources development. The ever-increasing needs of mankind have proved to be a threat as resources are finite. To handle this threat and solve the issues, many enthusiastic scientists and scholars are showing interest in religious instructions about natural resources management for sustainable development. This research paper will try to highlight solutions to these issues and environmental threats in the light of revealed injunctions of the Quran and Hadiths. According to the Quran, man is responsible for the proper use and protection of natural resources provided by Almighty Allah. The notion of sustainable development seems to be modern but its Islamic sequel is ancient, as Islam has integrated sustainable development in the Islamic resources management system. The objective of this paper is to highlight Islamic teachings related to natural resources management for sustainable development such as water, wood, and animals, etc. It will also analyze some of the modern environmental preservation principles such as the “3R principle” and “Common but differentiated responsibility” from an Islamic perspective. At the end of the article, recommendations will be given for ecological and resources preservation that will ultimately result in sustainable development.","PeriodicalId":310030,"journal":{"name":"International Research Journal on Islamic Studies (IRJIS)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117102985","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Comprehending why terrorists kill innocent civilians is crucial to understanding the situation. The current discussion on ‘root causes' focuses on identifying a terrorist's anti-civilization motivations. But the debate over what motivates a terrorist misses the circumstances that enable terrorism. To reduce the number of terrorists, it is vital to identify their enablers and root causes. Terrorism's purpose will take a decade or more to decrease, and its capabilities will need continual attention. Radicalism shares several values. It was a happy, tranquil, prosperous period. Fundamentalists believe that change comes from above, and hence support force and coercion above democracy and popular will. So, the structure isn't democratic. One for every fanatical. Armed forces toppled progressive anti-imperialist leader Ahmed Soekarno in 1964, slaughtering communists posing as American imperialism. In 1973, General Pinochet killed Chile's first elected socialist president, Silva Durlande. Forcing martial rule in Pakistan and deposing Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, fundamentalists supported General Zia-ul-Haq. Extremism and fanaticism yield their fruit. Our religious seminaries teach the same mindset that is spread by Islamic groups and religious politicians, which has produced the present position for Islam and Muslims worldwide. However, what is the right Islam? If there is a religious riot in Muslim culture, it is not the preaching of secularism, but a religious counter narrative that may bring peace. ۔ \u0000Keywords: Radicalization, Emerging trends, Solution, Islam, Pakistan","PeriodicalId":310030,"journal":{"name":"International Research Journal on Islamic Studies (IRJIS)","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114597755","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Epistemological reductionism is the methodology used in this research which is an integrated approach for a thorough understanding of mechanisms that generates and maintains the connections between heart intelligence, self, society, nature, and God from the interdisciplinary perspectives. This research has explained three elements of the heart intelligence named, emotional, rational and spiritual according to their functions. These elements of the heart intelligence are explained from the verses of the Quran and scientific evidence is also provided. Realignment of the individual thoughts patterns with the heart intelligence is fundamental to peace, harmony and wellbeing at the individual, societal and global level. Through this Divine inner guiding system, individuals can understand the challenges of life and acquire true wisdom. This research affirms that the socialization of heart intelligence will bring new more creative ways of thinking about the nature of reality and create the possibility for self-empowered existence where individuals in the society have enormous influence over their lives with an optimistic approach.","PeriodicalId":310030,"journal":{"name":"International Research Journal on Islamic Studies (IRJIS)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132112250","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
