They have become very close to humans, and some are designed even with sentence synthesizing ability which makes it possible for the robot to formulate its own response to questions posed to them. Human-like speech is by far the most highlighted feature in a robot that makes it ‘humanoid’. In several applications such as teaching, storytelling, reading and communication aids for the blind and vocally handicapped and to pronounce text messages on mobile phones at busy times, the human-like speech techniques are used by robots to provide more realistic feedback to humans. Control of facial features, especially lip and other facial muscle movement and synchronization with speech are some of the most important aspects in making humanoid robots. A robotic mouth with the ability of mimicking human-like speech was developed with to synchronized lip movements while providing sound through a text-to-speech conversion system attached to the mouth module.","PeriodicalId":309754,"journal":{"name":"2021 3rd International Conference on Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Engineering (ICECIE)","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114399755","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A novel oscillator design using a closed-loop dual comparator circuit (CLDC) has previously been proposed and proven as a good relaxation oscillator for high-performance future applications. In this paper, other configurations of the CLDC circuit will be investigated for voltage regulator and power supply controller applications. The simulation results confirm that CLDC as a controllable switched capacitor for voltage regulator application can provide precise regulation with a peak-to-peak voltage ripple of 5 mV. Furthermore, CLDC is also promising to be used as a voltage mode controller for buck converter and can achieve load regulation and line regulation of 0.00025 mV/mA and 0.0015, respectively. The proposed controller demonstrates a fast load transient response and low dropout voltage despite high variability in the input load. As a result, a lower cost and better performance on-chip voltage regulator can be realized to fulfill the needs of future power supply systems.","PeriodicalId":309754,"journal":{"name":"2021 3rd International Conference on Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Engineering (ICECIE)","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115936653","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Weaponizing the data in the line between network attacks and data breaches continues and the number rises upward even during the recent year with a massive increase in the attack type. Many consider Intrusion Detection System (IDS) datasets publicly available are becoming outdated and inadequate due to the availability of newer attack techniques. Therefore, it is a concern that the extensive usage of these available datasets in the current attack scenario to evaluate IDS models. This paper lists 37 datasets available for testing the IDS models and discusses those publicly accessible datasets, describing the characteristics and limitations for researchers who use such datasets. Finally, based on the dataset characteristics and usage survey, we conclude with a summary of the problems and provide our insights and suggestions for the use of network-based datasets for the Deep Learning approach for further improvement.","PeriodicalId":309754,"journal":{"name":"2021 3rd International Conference on Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Engineering (ICECIE)","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129162497","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Current devices used to monitor fetal health are stationed at big hospitals, inaccessible to those living in remote areas. In this study, MAX-ECG-MONITOR, a device for collecting ECG signals, was used to develop a mobile application for fetal electrocardiogram (fECG) monitoring system. The signals gathered will be processed first through Singular Value Decomposition. The signal processing consists of three fundamental steps: estimation of maternal electrocardiogram (mECG), subtraction of maternal component from the waveforms, and extraction of fECG from the remaining signal. The signal processing was validated using a testing framework for the fetal ECG extraction algorithm. The program showed accuracy above 90 percent for signals with and without noise.","PeriodicalId":309754,"journal":{"name":"2021 3rd International Conference on Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Engineering (ICECIE)","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128817255","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For instance, the contemporary graphics processing unit (GPU) is limited by the relatively small memory size and the increasing size of the interpolator. This issue makes multidimensional Fourier domain interpolation problematic, while finding an optimized configuration remains an unsolved challenge in industrial applications, e.g. magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or computerized tomography. To enhance the performance of multi-dimensional interpolation on GPU, a new parallel hierarchical tensor products tree approach is proposed. The method combines the composite 1D interpolators under the limitation imposed by the memory size of the device. The resultant run-time performance on the GPU varies with different configurations. The best-tuned method is 2.52-4.98× faster than the compressed sparse row (CSR) on the discrete GPU and 4.16-9.59× faster than CSR on the integrated GPU. The hierarchical tensor product interpolation is used to compute the multi-dimensional nonuniform fast Fourier transform. An acceleration of 30× was achieved in 3D MRI reconstruction.","PeriodicalId":309754,"journal":{"name":"2021 3rd International Conference on Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Engineering (ICECIE)","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125940476","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

At present batteries are dominating the storage technology of electric vehicles, however due to the challenging power demands of the urban driving cycles, batteries face accelerated deterioration. To compensate for the loss, manufacturers tend to oversize the batteries at the expense of additional cost and weight. Researchers have observed that battery life can be increased significantly by smoothening the battery charging and discharging currents [2] . Hence Electric vehicle manufacturers worldwide have incorporated several variations of Hybrid Energy Storage System (HESS) with combinations of conventional Internal Combustion Engine (ICE), Fuel cells, Batteries, Ultra Capacitors (UC), etc. intending to decouple the high power and high energy demands and assign them to separate sources. In this study, an electrical forklift that runs with the lead-acid battery as its Energy Storage System (ESS) was considered. Hybrid Ultra Capacitor (HUC) banks were integrated with a lead-acid battery pack similar to that of the forklift and the performance of the HESS was studied for the forklift application. It was observed that HUC banks help in smoothening the battery current thereby helps in increasing the battery life.","PeriodicalId":309754,"journal":{"name":"2021 3rd International Conference on Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Engineering (ICECIE)","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124457644","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Usual two-way WPT systems for V2H consist of a bridge converter, which makes the apparatus larger and more expensive. As a result, the system has become larger and more costly. In this study, the radio V2H is composed of a single switch converter to reduce the size and cost of the system. There were two problems in the early studies. First, the transmit power varied significantly by only few % variation of circuit parameters. Thus, the operation is less robust for circuit parameter variation. Next, the transmit power changing region is not sufficient, since the transfer frequency is not kept in the allowable frequency band of the international standard. To solve these problems, we propose a wireless V2H using a bi-directional single-ended converter controlled by a power supply voltage and a resonance parameter change scheme. The system robustness become strong, and the transfer power can be changed from zero to a maximum power output of 6 kW under constant frequency by using a voltage changer. The proposed system is validated by experiments.","PeriodicalId":309754,"journal":{"name":"2021 3rd International Conference on Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Engineering (ICECIE)","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128514497","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
