The research was descriptive qualitative research. 65 students of second semester. Test, questionnaire, and observation sheet were used as the instrument of data collecting. The finding of this research was the students’ vocabulary ability was low that can be seen from the result of the test that the students’ mean score in vocabulary test is 50.8. Then, the results of questionnaire are 78.46 % students like learning vocabulary, 53.84 % students think that vocabulary ability is very important. It means that students have realized that vocabulary ability is essential. Although 53.84 % students think that vocabulary ability is very important, 0 % students think that their vocabulary ability is high and 52.30 % think that their vocabulary ability is medium. Tulisan ini mendeskripsikan nilai-nilai multikultural dalam sastra Indonesia sebagai bahan pembelajaran apresiasi sastra di SMA, yang dapat menjadi pemantik bagi terbentuknya karakter multikultur. Lewat apresiasi sastra diyakini penanaman karakter tepat sasaran (efektif) karena sastra bersentuhan dengan nilai-nilai kemanusiaan. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dengan teknik simak catat. Data diambil dari empat karya sastra Indonesia, yakni satu cerpen terpilih dan tiga novel. Data dianalisis dengan pendekatan struktural-semiotik. Salah satu unsur pembangun cerita rakyat adalah perwatakan. Suatu karya sastra tentu diceritakan atas peristiwa-peristiwa yang dialami oleh tokoh yang memiliki watak berbeda dan juga mencerminkan kebiasaan watak di masanya. Tokoh dalam suatu cerita memegang peranan penting, karena tanpa ada tokoh tidak akan berkembang suatu cerita. Dengan mengkaji perwatakan, peneliti dapat mempelajari pola tingkah laku manusia dan dapat dijadikan bagi pembelajaran hidup. Perwatakan dalam suatu cerita dapat dilukiskan secara langsung maupun tidak langsung oleh penuturnya. Penelitian ini mengkaji mengenai penggambaran watak. Dengan demikian tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan Penggambaran watak tokoh, baik secara langsung maupun tidak langsung dari cerita Rakyat Pak Saloi. Adapun yang menjadi Objek sekaligus sebagai sumber data penelitian adalah cerita pak Aloi yang dituliskan oleh Zainuddin Muhyid dengan judul Pertualangan Pak Aloi. Data yang dipeoleh dari objek tersebut berupa kutipan yang berisikan mengenai penggambaran watak, secara langsung maupun tidak langsung. This study used a test, a questionnaire, and documentation to collect the data. The population of the study is all of the second-semester students while the sample is 50 students taken by cluster random sampling technique. The techniques used to analyze the data are simple and multiple correlation and regression by using SPSS 23. The results of the study show that there is a positive correlation between student’s English interest, and vocabulary mastery toward student’s English achievement. Penelitian deskriptif qualitative ini dilaksanakan di IKIP-PGRI Pontianak dengan sampel penelitian dari mahasiswa semester empat. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan berupa interview, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Penulis menggunakan metode deskriptif analitis yang berusahamenggambarkan data yang diteliti yang terjadi pada masa sekarang serta menguraikan aspekaspekyang menjadi fokus penelitian. Kualitas karya ilmiah setelah bahan ajar kalimat efektifdiujicobakan adalah 1) penerapan aspek pilihan kata dan istilah dalam karya ilmiah baik, 2)penerapan aspek kesatuan, kesejajaran, kehematan, ketegasan/penekanan, dan kevariasian dalamkarya ilmiah baik, 3) penerapan aspek kelogisan dalam karya ilmiah setelah bahan ajar digunakanbaik, dan 4) penerapan kaidah ejaan dalam karya ilmiah bidang kewarganegaraan setelah bahanajar digunakan cukup baik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategiscaffolding bisa meningkatkan kemampuan speaking skill siswa .Dari pengamatan dan didukung dengan catatan lapangan penulis, dapat dilihat bahwa siswa bisa berbicara dengan baik, kosakata mereka bertambah, struktur gramatikal menjadi lebih baik, dan motivasi siswa dalam speaking skill semakin meningkatkan. This research was classroom action research which was set out in two cycles, they are the first and second cycle. The subject of this research was E class second semester students of Business English and Management Concentration of Tonggak Equator Polytechnic in the academic year 2017-2018. Field note and test were used in collecting the data. The test consists of pre-test and progress-test. The data of the students' pre-test and progress-test score were analyzed by using the mean score and the data of the observation by using field note was analyzed descriptively. The finding of the research was structural analysis positively improved the reading comprehension of E class second semester students of Business English and Management Major Tonggak Equator Polytechnic in academic year 2017-2018 within two cycles, and the significance of the use of structural analysis in improving the reading comprehension of E class second semester students of Business English and Management Major Tonggak Equator Polytechnic in academic year 2017-2018 could be seen based on the test given they were 64 for the pre-test, 71.6 for the first progress-test and 83.4 for the second progress-test, and from the field note, that the students looked tired, sleepy, looked for answer from student beside them and could not finish the test by the time given by the researcher in the first cycle but have significant progress in the second cycle that the students looked more relax in doing the test and could finish the test by the time given by the researcher.Keywords: reading comprehension, structural analysis, classroom action research.","PeriodicalId":30889,"journal":{"name":"Chie Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa Jepang","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87363684","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
