As a result, we observed improvement in the participants understanding of the relationship among elements that cause climate change, and the complexity and interdependence of climate-related systems. {"title":"Biodiversity Learning Program for Elementary School Children Using the Chinese Windmill (Byasa alcinous)","authors":"Sachiko Kawamura, Hiroshi Sato","doi":"10.5647/jsoee.28.3_70","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.5647/jsoee.28.3_70","url":null,"abstract":"生物多様性が加速度的に失われつつある現在、地球環 境や生態系を保全することの重要性を理解し、行動化に 向けて主体的に取り組む人材の育成が切望されている。 多様な主体が問題の重要性を理解し行動するうえで、生 物多様性と生態系に関する十分な科学的素養の醸成が欠 かせない。そのためには、自然史と生態系に関する学習 を初等教育、幼年教育から重視する必要がある(1)。す なわち、その課題解決のために学校教育の果たす役割は 大きく、学校現場において小・中学生が自然体験をする 機会を保障し、その重要性を実感できる場を意図的・計 画的に設け、一人一人の児童・生徒に生物とその生活環 境を保全する能力と態度を育成することが重要である (谷村2014)。 生物多様性の重要性を理解するうえで課題となるの が、その問題がわかりにくいとされることである。これ は全体像が大きく複雑で理解しにくいことによっている (須賀2013)。そのような問題を子どもたちにどのよう に伝えるべきか。生物多様性は地球上にいろいろな生物 がたくさんいることだけが大切なのではなく、その多様 な生き物がつながっていることが重要なのである(阿部 2012)。したがって、そのつながりの理解を促す学習プ ログラムの開発・展開が望まれる。 本研究はジャコウアゲハを用いて、生物間および人と のつながりを通して小学生に生物多様性保全の理解を促 すための環境学習プログラムを開発し、そのプログラム の有効性を明らかにすることを目的とする。本稿では、 開発したプログラムとその試行結果について報告し、そ の結果をもとに本プログラムにおける生物多様性学習と しての有用性について考察する。 ジャコウアゲハは東北地方から南西諸島にいたるまで 広く分布し(藤岡1981)、年2 ~ 4回(西南日本ではふつ う4回)産卵・羽化する(白水2006)。地理的変異が大 きいため、国内外来種の問題を考えることができるチョ ウである。多年性のつる性または木本植物であるウマノ スズクサ属のみを食草とし、害虫ではない。飼育が比較 的容易で、幼虫時の寄生も少なく羽化率が高い。飛翔が ゆっくりのため観察しやすく、雌雄の判別も容易である。 また、ジャコウアゲハの雄は「麝香」の独特の香りを 出し、蛹はその形態から「お菊虫」と呼ばれ、怪談「播 州皿屋敷」の主人公に名前が由来するなど、人との関係 も深い(相坂2009)。さらには、食草が同じ外来種のホ ソオチョウとの競合問題(今井2005)や、食草が生育 する河川敷や畦は定期的に草刈が行われることなど、 ジャコウアゲハは生物間や人とのつながりを考えるうえ で格好の学習素材である。","PeriodicalId":308853,"journal":{"name":"Japanese Journal of Environmental Education","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121864733","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
