Semarang City has an increasing number of LF. The aim of this study was to investigate potential sources of transmission and distribution of LF. It was descriptive research using cross-sectional design. The sample were 28 LF cases. The variables studied were level of knowledge, physical and biological environmental factors, and provision of health service. Data were collected with interview and observation. Data were analysed descriptively and spatially. The results showed that LF cases were distributed in centre of Semarang City, especially in the coastal area. Poor drainage and stagnant water around the houses were potential breeding places for mosquitos, which are suspected as a vector of LF transmission. Physical and biological environmental factors around the houses of LF patient may possibly be sources of distribution and transmission of LF. It was indicated with the existence of mosquito larvae in any habitats.","PeriodicalId":30840,"journal":{"name":"Unnes Journal of Public Health","volume":"9 1","pages":"43-49"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46476583","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in lured rats number between uncombined bait trapping and combined bait trapping. This is a quasi-experimental study with a post-test only non-equivalent control group design. Each house has 5 traps setup with 6 replications. One trap was set with combined bait types (rice, anchovy, tofu and roasted coconut) and four other traps set with separated uncombined bait types; (1) rice, (2) anchovy, (3) tofu, (4) roasted coconut. The instruments used were house screening sheets, traps and observation sheets. The data obtained were tested with the Mann-Whitney test. The results showed that there were not significant differences in trapped rats number between combined bait and uncombined rice bait (p=0.748), between combined bait and uncombined anchovy bait (p=0.355), between combined bait and uncombined tofu bait (p=1.000), and also between combined bait and uncombined roasted coconut bait (p=0.734). Uncombined anchovies bait trapped rats most. Combined bait and uncombined anchovy bait were most consistent in trapping rats.","PeriodicalId":30840,"journal":{"name":"Unnes Journal of Public Health","volume":"9 1","pages":"28-33"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46390209","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nutritional problems that are often faced by pregnant women are Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) and nutritional anemia. According to the Indonesian Ministry of Health in 2013, the prevalence of CED pregnant women was 24.2%. This was a survey research with descriptive analytical and cross sectional design. The sample in this study were 80 people. Analysis of data in the form of univariate, bivariate and multivariate. The results showed that Knowledge (p = 0.015, PR = 4.608), Attitude (p = 0.008, PR = 7.933), Family Support (p = 0.035, PR = 3.857), Family income level (p = 0.009, PR = 5,000) , parity (p = 0.003, PR = 6,667), sexual relations behaviour (p = 0.598). The results of the dominant variable multivariate analysis were attitudes obtained. The most dominant variable related to nutritional status of pregnant women was PR = 8,576. It can be concluded that there is a relationship knowledge, attitudes and family support with nutritional status of pregnant women while family income level is not a related factor Attitude variables are dominant factors at risk of developing CED.","PeriodicalId":30840,"journal":{"name":"Unnes Journal of Public Health","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43494313","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Elevated prevalence of kidney stones is often associated with metabolic syndrome itself. This study aimed to assess the association between kidney stones and metabolic syndrome parameters in differences gender. This was a cross-sectional study with Chi-square and multivariate logistic regression for data analysis from the secondary data Riskesdas 2013 with 26,063 respondents. Diagnosis of kidney stone based on Riskesdas 2013 interview, metabolic syndrome based on NCEP ATP-III and PERKENI. Result showed that there were 226 (0.9%) diagnosed kidney stones cases by doctors. After adjustment age, central obesity was dominant factor which associated with the risk of kidney stones in male (OR 1.9; 95% CI 1.3-2.9; p=0.003) and metabolic syndrome was dominant factor which associated with the risk of kidney stones in female (OR 6.1; 95% CI 3.4-11.3; p<0.001). The conclusion was that metabolic syndrome and central obesity were associated with risk of kidney stones.","PeriodicalId":30840,"journal":{"name":"Unnes Journal of Public Health","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45745220","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
