Operating under pulsed RF conditions of 1mS pulse width, 20% duty cycle, it can deliver 700 Watts peak power at 96 volts. More than 50% efficiency and 8.2 dB gain are attained over the bandwidth of 400-450 MHz. The power density is 1.9 watts/mil. Thermal resistance is 0.19degC/W. The junction temperature remains below 150degC at a flange temperature of 70degC. This combination of high power density and high voltage operation makes these new generation devices ideally suited for new transmitter designs in UHF radar systems.","PeriodicalId":308339,"journal":{"name":"2008 38th European Microwave Conference","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131233402","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Leakage current of 3 mA/cm2 at 4 MV/cm, a breakdown field (Ebd) of 5.2 MV/cm and a capacitance density of 0.83 fF/mum2 have been obtained. For high temperature, current instability has been observed and has been attributed to ionic diffusion in dielectric and follows the space-charge-limited theory. This phenomenon increases dramatically the TDDB (Time Dependent Dielectric Breakdown) which is a key aspect for our applications.","PeriodicalId":308339,"journal":{"name":"2008 38th European Microwave Conference","volume":"189 1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127317760","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is a direct conversion receiver based on low noise amplification, band pass filtering and Schottky diode detection. System simulations are based on individual linear-subsystems S-parameters measurements together with non-linear detector model. Measurements show more than 30 dB of RF gain over the 26 to 36 GHz band with a noise figure below 3.9 dB. For this purpose, the electric field distribution is computed, using the FDTD technique, in realistic cell models exposed to a linearly polarized plane wave of frequencies 900 MHz and 2.45 GHz. In particular, a precise control of impedance values is obtained for harmonic tuning by means of properly designed tapered microstrip-line elements. A synthesis procedure for a microwave transmitter with specific constraints is thoroughly carried out, which emphasizes the accuracy and efficiency of this technique.","PeriodicalId":308339,"journal":{"name":"2008 38th European Microwave Conference","volume":"236 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132734665","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Antenna array was designed for frequency range from 50 GHz to 600 GHz. The antenna is placed on a low lost dielectrically substrate Cuclad 217. The numerical model was analyzed in a EM solver CST Microwave Studio. After basic design, the antenna was optimized by own novel modification of SPC-PNX real-coded genetic algorithm. The wideband global optimization by SPC-PNX genetic algorithm of the broadband antenna for the mm-Band can be interpreted as original results.","PeriodicalId":308339,"journal":{"name":"2008 38th European Microwave Conference","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133327186","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed quadruplet filter can be designed to have a pair of transmission zeros to achieve sharp selectivity. In addition, by applying an extra source-load coupling, two additional transmission zeros on both side of passband are created to further enhance the selectivity. Because the quarter-wave SIRs are adopted, the circuit size of the filters can be largely reduced and the upper stopband can be extended. Two generalized Chebyshev filters corresponding to quadruplet and canonical form coupling schemes are fabricated. Simulated and measured results are matched very well.","PeriodicalId":308339,"journal":{"name":"2008 38th European Microwave Conference","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134053359","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
