The modulator can achieve a power added efficiency of 80% for the envelope of WLAN 802.11a/g signal. The modulator is tested with a high efficiency power amplifier. In the transmitter, the phase signal fed into the power amplifier is modulated by the clipped envelope signal. This relaxes the critical time alignment requirement between the envelope and the phase signal paths in a traditional envelope elimination and restoration transmitter. As a result, the transmitter can achieve an overall PAE of 34.3% while complying with the WLAN 802.11a/g spectrum mask.","PeriodicalId":308339,"journal":{"name":"2008 38th European Microwave Conference","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-10-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128464425","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, a new writing of the nonlinear equations proposed by R. York to describe the oscillators locked states is presented. This has allowed the elaboration of a CAD tool which provides, in a considerably short simulation time, the frequency locking region of the coupled oscillators. This region is plotted versus the oscillators' tunings referred to the resonant frequency of the coupling circuit. A prototype circuit consisting of a five oscillators array is currently under test to validate the theory.","PeriodicalId":308339,"journal":{"name":"2008 38th European Microwave Conference","volume":"52 7","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-10-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131776531","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This type of filter is usually composed of series and shunt resonators. We present two setups centred at 2.5 GHz which measurement is agreed with simulation for rejection band. It has been designed and manufactured by 3D ceramic stereolithography with the ceramic material called zircon. Its particular properties have been used to design a high unloaded quality factor cavity (structural defect) localized within this crystal. This cavity has been measured at 30.5 GHz to demonstrate the concept in the millimeter wave domain. This resonant defect has also theoretically been studied while considering a low loss ceramic material such as BZT. In this scheme, both the input signal and load impedance are controlled to allow high efficiency operation of PAs for a desired output signal modulation. The proposed technique is demonstrated by two 1 GHz, LDMOS, switched mode power amplifiers (SMPAs) which are characterized by varying the input power during load-pull measurements. It is shown that the power-added efficiency (PAE) of the PAs in back-off operation can significantly be improved by the optimum controlling scheme.","PeriodicalId":308339,"journal":{"name":"2008 38th European Microwave Conference","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123127675","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
