According to research, global warming leads to desertification, drought, reduction of rainfall and the crisis of a lack of fresh water. Due to the continual growth of the global population, available resources are being depleted and water and food pollution is serious. Today, there is a new concept in agricultural development called a “Plant Factory” which could mass produce plants economically. Furthermore, the plant factory could overcome the effect of change of climate, environmental contamination and resource depletion. This study proposes a monitoring management platform for a plant factory. The platform adopts automatic management to replace manpower with sensor technology to monitor and control the plants' environment. Moreover, it is based on a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN), Zigbee-based wireless transmission, and integrating components of sensor technology. The proposed management platform reduces manpower costs, effectively achieves carbon reduction and is energy saving.","PeriodicalId":307170,"journal":{"name":"The 16th North-East Asia Symposium on Nano, Information Technology and Reliability","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122738239","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we focus on design oriented defect tolerance instead of Physical oriented one, and propose a reliable implementation for nano devices. Our new methodology is based on Quadded NOR logic, which guarantees the circuit function for all single defects and almost all multiple ones. Under Quadded form of design we transfer the costly test and characterization phase in fabrication process of the nanoPLA to a reliable logic design. We use the wrapping feature of nanoPLAs and reduce the overhead of Quadded method on logics in nanoPLA.This feature allows implementation of quadruplicated logic on a nanoPLA by using spared nanowires. This allows design with a very small area overhead. Results show about 100 percent availability of Quadded logic XOR gate implemented on nanoPLAs.","PeriodicalId":307170,"journal":{"name":"The 16th North-East Asia Symposium on Nano, Information Technology and Reliability","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131236187","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Until now many techniques have used the Mass-Spring model to describe elastically deformable objects like textile. A textile object is able to represent as a deformable surface composed of spring and masses, the movement of textile surface which is analyzed through the numerical integration by the fundamental law of dynamics such as Hooke's law. However, the integration methods have 'instability problems' if the explicit Euler's method is applied or 'large amounts of calculation' if the implicit Euler's method is applied. A simple and fast animation technique for Mass-Spring model of a textile with fuzzy inference is proposed. The stabilized simulation result is obtained the state of each mass-points in real-time for the n of mass-points by a relatively simple calculation.","PeriodicalId":307170,"journal":{"name":"The 16th North-East Asia Symposium on Nano, Information Technology and Reliability","volume":"178 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121721037","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With rapid advances in information technology, detection and extraction of texts in images and related research into this area have become increasingly important. Here, we present an intelligent connected-component based text detection and extraction method involving three steps. First, candidate regions are searched via imaging processing and Canny edge detection. Second, a fast connected component (CC) algorithm enables noise filtering to obtain the candidate texts and their features. Lastly, AdaBoost classifier training is in place to categorize texts or non-text characters for the construction of strong classifiers. This three-step process can effectively filter out non-text CCs for the efficient extraction of text components. The present research integrates CC and AdaBoost algorithms in attaining a 94.65% precision rate for text extraction, which can help facilitate the application and development of text recognition techniques.","PeriodicalId":307170,"journal":{"name":"The 16th North-East Asia Symposium on Nano, Information Technology and Reliability","volume":"367 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122065945","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Benefit from the synergy of ICT and caring service, we are used to accept these novel channels for express our feelings and caring to whom we love. ICT-enabled caring services make our world more warm and feel well-being. In order to understand how these ICT-enabled caring service systems could fulfill our needs and understand the performance of feeling expression and propagation, a measurement matrix is necessary. However, most of current measurement designs are highly focus on the “System perspective”, where the “inner part” of our feelings is missing. In this study, a measurement matrix design is proposed to help service providers to concentrate on the needs of feeling and inner part of an ICT-enabled caring service system. The measurement is design from a synergy perspective of emotion and cognition. The viewpoints of social interaction, collective power as well as the functionality are also addressed. The measurement matrix on ICT-enabled caring service system could support service providers to shape their caring service systems designs and comprehend the performance of the ICT-enabled caring service.","PeriodicalId":307170,"journal":{"name":"The 16th North-East Asia Symposium on Nano, Information Technology and Reliability","volume":"92 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121127681","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In past ten years, the assessment system in distance learning wasn't only become more and more popular but more and more important in educational world. This paper was addressed how to provide a simulated testing system and to supply a diagnosing model and then to understand the student's learning achievement. We based on the Bloom's Taxonomy of Educational Objectives to classify the course contents. We separated the course contents into different Knowledge Dimension and Cognitive Process Dimension. The Knowledge Dimension contains Factual Knowledge, Conceptual Knowledge, Procedural Knowledge, and Meta-cognitive Knowledge. The Cognitive Process Dimension includes Remember, Understand, Apply, Analyze, Evaluate, and Create. The Knowledge Dimension and Cognitive Process dimension could be taken as the Elucidation of Competence Indicators as well as the adaptive reference for teaching and learning. This assessable approach also matches the “Self-Regulation” processes in Scaffolding Theory. In this paper, we develop an ITE licenses online testing system for vocational university students and to help them to get the network professional certification. The primarily results showed our approaches can improve the rate to pass the ITE examination.","PeriodicalId":307170,"journal":{"name":"The 16th North-East Asia Symposium on Nano, Information Technology and Reliability","volume":"67 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123452042","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
