To achieve the aim of the study, a pre-test and post-test were used to collect the quantitative data required. Therefore, 16 pupils from a rural school in Belaga, Sarawak, Malaysia, with weak writing skills were selected to participate in this study. The analysis of the data indicated that the ‘Build Me Up’ tool did help the pupils overcome their problems in writing grammatically correct sentences. The use of ‘Build Me Up’ aids pupils in writing sentences using present tense, past tense, present continuous tense and past continuous tense correctly. Besides that, it also helps the pupils to understand the sentence pattern better in order to improve their writing.  The findings of the study may be beneficial to ESL teachers and educators, as it can be as an alternative which can assist them in teaching writing. In addition, it also encourages the pupils to take charge of their own learning. It is suggested that future research should include the perceptions of the pupils and the teachers towards the tool as well. Key words : overcome, writing, writing tool, rural primary school, sentence construction Abstrak : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh 'Build Me Up' dalam membantu siswa kelas 5 di sekolah dasar pedesaan untuk mengatasi masalah dalam membangun kalimat yang benar. Untuk mencapai tujuan penelitian ini, sebuah pre-test dan post-test digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data kuantitatif. Oleh karena itu, 16 murid dari sekolah pedesaan di Belaga, Sarawak, Malaysia, dengan kemampuan menulis yang lemah dipilih untuk berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini. Analisis data menunjukkan bahwa 'Build Me Up' membantu siswa mengatasi masalah mereka dalam menulis kalimat yang benar secara tata bahasa. Penggunaan 'Build Me Up' membantu murid dalam menulis kalimat dengan menggunakan present tense, past tense, present continuous tense dan past continuous tense dengan benar. Selain itu, juga dapat membantu siswa memahami pola kalimat dengan lebih baik agar bisa memperbaiki tulisan mereka. Temuan penelitian ini mungkin bermanfaat bagi guru dan pendidik ESL, karena dapat menjadi alternatif yang dapat membantu mereka dalam mengajar menulis. Selain itu, juga mendorong murid untuk mengendalikan pembelajaran mereka sendiri. Disarankan agar penelitian masa depan harus mencakup persepsi siswa dan guru terhadap alat ini juga. Participants consisted of 556 students (in their first and third semesters, with an age range of 18-21 years) in the Faculty of Da’wa Science and Communication Science at a state university. Data on intrinsic and extrinsic motivation obtained through non-random sampling utilized a scale adapted from Harter, while choice of majors data employed a Likert scale derived from theory of determination. Multiple linear regression analysis was used to determine the effects of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation on students’ choice of majors. Our results showed that extrinsic and intrinsic learning motivation have significant influence on choice of majors at state universities. Intrinsic and extrinsic learning motivation in college students contributed approximately 10.5% toward choice of majors, with a high significance level (p = 0.000). Intrinsic learning motivation had greater influence on choice of majors, with a beta value of 106.9, whereas extrinsic learning motivation had a beta value of 85. Key Words : extrinsic motivation, intrinsic motivation, students, choice of majors Abstrak:  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan pengaruh motivasi belajar intrinsik dan ekstrinsik mahasiswa pada mata kuliah pilihan jurusan di perguruan tinggi negeri. Peserta terdiri dari 556 mahasiswa (di semester pertama dan ketiga, dengan rentang usia 18-21 tahun) di Fakultas Ilmu Dakwah dan Ilmu Komunikasi di sebuah universitas negeri. Data motivasi intrinsik dan ekstrinsik yang diperoleh melalui pengambilan sampel non acak menggunakan skala yang disesuaikan dengan Harter, sedangkan data pilihan jurusan menggunakan skala Likert yang berasal dari teori determinasi. Analisis regresi linier berganda digunakan untuk mengetahui pengaruh motivasi intrinsik dan ekstrinsik terhadap pilihan jurusan mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa motivasi belajar ekstrinsik dan intrinsik berpengaruh signifikan terhadap pilihan jurusan di perguruan tinggi negeri. Motivasi belajar intrinsik dan ekstrinsik pada mahasiswa memberikan kontribusi sekitar 10,5% terhadap pilihan jurusan, dengan tingkat signifikansi yang tinggi (p = 0.000). Motivasi belajar intrinsik memiliki pengaruh yang lebih besar terhadap pilihan jurusan, dengan nilai beta 106,9, sedangkan motivasi belajar ekstrinsik memiliki nilai beta 85. This study was a non-experimental study with causal relationship study plan. The result of this research showed that there was a positive significant correlation between X1 and Y, X2 and Y, X3 and Y; X1, X2, X3 had strong linear relation with Y; the influence of the three independent variables was 50.7%, while the rest was influenced by other variables; X2 was the most influencing variable towards Y, the second was X1, and the last was X3. Key Words : Emotional Intelligence, Self-esteem, Self-efficacy, Psychological Well Being, Senior High School Students Abstrak : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan kecerdasan emosi (X1) dan psychological well being (Y) , self esteem (X2) dan psychological well being (Y), self efficacy (X3) dan psychological well being (Y) siswa SMA Negeri se-kota Malang. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah non experimental research dengan jenis penelitian causal relationship study. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada hubungan positif signifikan antara X1 dan Y, X2 dan Y, X3 dan Y; X1, X2, X3 memiliki hubungan linear yang kuat dengan Y; pengaruh ketiga variabel independen sebesar 50,7%, sedangkan sisanya dipengaruhi oleh variabel lain; X2 vaktor yang berpengaruh terhadap Y, urutan kedua X1, dan urutan terakhir adalah X3. Emphatic engagement is very important to emerge respect to the others, to be awarded of the diversity in life and to realize and concern to human beings. Empathic engagement can be taught from an early age in primary school students. With the right methods, students in elementary school can have a sense of empathy for the involvement of their friends that it will be very useful to give the best practice to adulthood process. The study aimed to explain how an empathic engagement was taught in primary school students. Emphatic engagement is through teamwork interaction in the classroom. Subjects of the research were students aged 9 years in primary school in Lamongan. The results showed that the teamwork interaction in classroom used by teachers in learning could deliver an empathic engagement. Students with an empathic engagement have awareness to always care for their fellow students and seek to participate in every learning activity in the classroom. Key words : empathic engagement, interaction, teamwork Abstrak : Keterlibatan empatik di kelas adalah perasaan siswa yang merasa terhubung dengan teman mereka dalam kegiatan belajar di kelas. Keterlibatan empatik sangat penting untuk memunculkan sikap menghargai terhadap orang lain, untuk dianugerahi keragaman dalam kehidupan dan untuk menyadari serta memperhatikan manusia. Keterlibatan secara empatik dapat diajarkan sejak usia dini pada siswa sekolah dasar. Dengan metode yang tepat, siswa di sekolah dasar dapat memiliki rasa empati atas keterlibatan teman-teman mereka sehingga akan sangat berguna untuk memberikan praktik terbaik untuk proses pendewasaan diri mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan bagaimana keterlibatan empatik diajarkan pada siswa sekolah dasar. Keterlibatan empatik adalah melalui interaksi kerja tim di kelas. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa berusia 9 tahun di sekolah dasar di Lamongan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa interaksi timbal balik di kelas yang digunakan oleh guru dalam pembelajaran dapat memberikan keterlibatan empatik. Siswa dengan keterlibatan empatik memiliki kesadaran untuk selalu peduli terhadap sesama siswa dan berusaha untuk berpartisipasi dalam setiap aktivitas belajar di kelas. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach and multi-site studies design. The techniques of the study were collecting data used interviews, observation and documentation. Data analysis was divided into two phases of data analysis; those are data analysis site and site across data analysis. In checking validity of the data in this study used three kind of validities that are credibility, dependability, and confirmability. Based on those technique data analyses, it is found across the site as follows. First of all, the implementation of new admissions both regular students and students with special needs conducted in line with the new students enrollment requirements of Dikpora Kebumen. In state Elementary School 1 Surotrunan, new students who have special needs were selected and accepted, the range is for students with low till medium needs. In the other hand, State Elementary School Pecarikan using a system of promotion. Secondly, students are placed in a class, moreover, students’ grouping is based on their intelligence, academic ability and special needs. Thirdly, student treatments are given through some habitual activities, extracurricular activities, and incidental activities. Schools require guider (shadow) on each ABK’s. Key Words : management, student, educational inclusion Abstrak : Tujuan penelitian adalah mendeskripsikan manajemen kesiswaan pada sekolah inklusi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan rancangan studi multi situs. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Analisis data terdiri atas analisis data dalam situs dan analisis data lintas situs. Pengecekan keabsahan data menggunakan tiga kriteria, yaitu kredibilitas, dependabilitas, dan konfirmabilitas. Temuan lintas situs dalam penelitrian ini sebagai berikut. Pertama, pelaksanaan PPDB baik siswa reguler maupun siswa ABK dilaksanakan bersamaan sesuai dengan juklak PPDB di SDN 1 Surotrunan, siswa ABK di seleksi yang diterima adalah ABK yang mempunyai jenis kebutuhan ringan ke sedang, sedangkan SDN Pecarikan menggunakan sistem promosi. Kedua, siswa ditempatkan menjadi satu kelas, pengelompokan siswa berdasarkan kecerdasan, kemampuan akademik, dan kebutuhan khusus. Ketiga, pembinaan kesiswaan dilakukan melalui kegiatan pembiasaan, ekstrakurikuler, dan kegiatan insidental. Sekolah mewajibkan pendamping (shadow) untuk siswa ABK. Data collection has been done by using questionnaires and tests. The data analysis has been done by using path analysis. The study conclude: (1) there is direct influence of parents' socio-economic background to the students' consumption behavior. (2) there is direct effect of family's economic education to the students' consumption behavior. (3) there is positive and sig-nificant effect of parents' socioeconomic background to the students' economic literacy. (4) there is positive and significant effect of family's economic education to the students' economic literacy. (5) there is a significant and positive influence of economic literacy to students' consumption behaviour. (6) there is indirect effect of parents' socio-economic background  to the consumption behavior through students' economic literacy. (7) there is indirect effect of family's economic education to the consumption behavior through students' economic literacy. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik angket dan tes. Analisis data dilakukan dengan teknik analisis jalur. The subjects of this study are 29 research articles. The findings reveal that the preferred rhetorical moves of the abstracts are Move 2-purpose, Move 3-method, and Move 4-result. The use of present tense is dominant in all five moves. Additionally, past tense is mostly found in method move. In this case, the writers employ the preferred rhetorical move and different verb tense in each move to emphasize the writer’s objectiveness. Key Words : rhetorical move, verb tense, research article abstracts Abstrak : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui rhetorical moves dan penggunaan kata kerja pada abstrak artikel penelitian. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian korpus dengan menggunakan perangkat korpus bernama AntConc 3.2.4w. Subyek penelitian ini merupakan 29 artikel penelitian. Hasil dari penelitian tersebut menunjukkann bahwa penulis lebih memilih menggunakan Move 2-purpose, Move 3-method, dan Move 4-result dalam penulisan abstrak. Penggunakan kata kerja present merupakan kata kerja yang paling banyak dan sering digunakan pada kelima moves. Selain itu, kata kerja lampau merupakan kata kerja yang paling banyak digunakan dalam method move. Dalam hal ini, penulis menggunakan beberapa rhetorical move pilihan mereka dan juga kata kerja yang berbeda untuk menekankan keobjektifan mereka. The research method uses a qualitative approach with case study method. The informants are Bandung Berkebun’s members and data collection techniques such as interviews, observation, and study the document. The results show that the Bandung Berkebun community with programs such as urban farming, urban farming school, street urban farming and urban campus has succeeded in intensifying agriculture farming town (urban agriculture) as an environmentally conscious lifestyle in Bandung. The success from the standpoint of Citizenship/Civic Education (PKn) is a development virtue of citizens (civic virtue), which became the estuary of learning objectives Civics. The virtue citizen like as participation in environmental conservation is achieved by development of knowledge, skills, ethics, and participation in the environmental field. Key Words : citizens, urban farming, urban farming school, campus urban farming, bandung berkebun Abstrak : Penelitian ini bertujuan memberi gambaran tentang pengembangan kepedulian warga negara terhadap lingkungan dalam komunitas Bandung Berkebun yang telah menjalankan serangkaian program pro lingkungan. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Informan penelitian yaitu anggota komunitas Bandung Berkebun dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komunitas Bandung Berkebun dengan program-program seperti urban farming, school urban farming, street urban farming, dan campus urban farming telah berhasil memasyarakatkan pertanian kota (urban agriculture) sebagai gaya hidup peduli lingkungan di Kota Bandung. Keberhasilan tersebut dari sudut pandang Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan (PKn) merupakan pengembangan kebajikan warga negara (civic virtue) yang menjadi muara dari tujuan pembelajaran PKn. This study is a qualitative study with ethnographic approach. Data about Local wisdom values of Adat Ammatoa retrieved from observations and interviews of Adat Ammatoa’s people. Data analysis was performed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions and verification. Result of this study is forest conservation of people in Adat Ammatoa always respect Pasang’s law. The values of Adat Ammatoa’s local wisdom is important to known by student. So that the values can be used as a main learning resources in teaching geography. Key Words: . local wisdom, preserving forest, geography’s learning resources Abstrak: Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi nilai-nilai kearifan lokal Adat Ammatoa dalam melestarikan hutan yang akan dijadikan sebagai sumber belajar geografi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi. Data tentang nilai-nilai kearifan lokal Adat Ammatoa diperoleh dari hasil observasi dan wawancara pada masyarakat Adat Ammatoa. Analisis data dilakukan melalui tahapan reduksi data, sajian data, penarikan simpulan dan verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelestarian hutan pada komunitas Adat Ammatoa tak lepas dari hukum adat yang selama ini dihormati dan dijunjung tinggi masyarakat adat yakni, “ Pasang ” . Nilai-nilai kearifan lokal tersebut penting untuk diketahui mahasiswa. Olehnya itu nilai-nilai tersebut dapat dijadikan sumber belajar utamanya dalam pembelajaran geografi. The case study method was used to conduct the research about particular learners. Subjects were selected according to their score (GPA). Data were collected through note taking and interviewing. The researcher selected, simplified and organized the raw data which refer to the research problem being investigated, then data were displayed carefully. Findings show that successful learners employ different learning strategies. The basic key of success that can be drawn is that the more strategies the learners employ the more open the possibilities for success become. Key Words : language learning strategies, successful learner Abstrak : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui strategi belajar peserta didik Jurusan Bahasa Inggris STKIP PGRI Blitar. Metode studi kasus digunakan untuk melakukan penelitian tentang peserta didik tertentu. Subjek dipilih sesuai dengan nilai mereka (IPK). Data dikumpulkan melalui taking note dan wawancara. Peneliti memilah, menyederhanakan dan mengorganisir data mentah yang mengacu pada masalah penelitian yang diteliti, lalu data ditampilkan dengan hati-hati. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa peserta didik yang sukses adalah mereka yang menerapkan teknik strategi belajar yang berbeda. Kunci dasar keberhasilan yang dapat ditarik adalah bahwa semakin banyak strategi belajar yang di-gunakan kesempatan sukses akan menjadi lebih terbuka.
