Krajníková","doi":"10.1109/ICETA.2018.8572116","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/ICETA.2018.8572116","url":null,"abstract":"Currently, the Building Information Modeling (BIM) is extensively recognized as an incentive for increased productivity and innovations in architecture, engineering and construction. Nevertheless, apart from many numerous benefits of the BIM adoption in construction, it faces several considerable questions. The BIM implementation, as not an uncomplicated process, stands in need of aware, well-skilled and competent professionals. The concern of BIM in architectural, engineering and construction education is discussed leaning on ideas that have been presented by various authors and researchers. The motivational activities to enhance BIM awareness of graduates at the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Košlce are described and discussed in the paper. The activities involve the following areas: lectures and trainings on BIM technologies, student competition and availability of free student licenses for BIM software tools. But especially, the effect of these activities on BIM awareness of university students is examined. One of the results of the work presented in this article is an implemented web application to support active learning in data science. The article involves a brief overview of the methods supporting the active learning which may be used also for teaching data science. The final web application which was proposed and tested by the users, was created by RShiny application. The supporting application is helpful mainly for the students as an interactive mean of active learning in data science. The result of the article is available and it was applied in practice. Within this study, we present results of students taking part in real-life programming projects as part of their final master theses. We show that being a coach of real-life project solvers, rather than being a supervisor, is an approach that can provide graduates with a meaningful learning conditions, improving both their domain skills as well as their academic performance. We performed coaching as a real-life long-term educational experience within projects focused on helping visually-impaired people. We analyzed students' perceptions, aiming at improving the overall supervision process. The minimization of globalization impact can be done through different instruments that focus on different causes. One of these tools, which act on various causes and minimize the negatives of globalization, is the concept of corporate social responsibility (CSR). Implementation of this business concept is being implemented by more and more companies from different economic sectors. This trend is very important not only for the organizations themselves and their surroundings, but also for the whole society. Currently, there are synergies f this concept with area of risk management. However, this synergy has to be supported by appropriate competencies of the managers applying the CSR within the company. In the context of this article, we want to highlight the possibilities of the development of the managers from different economic sectors and different countries offered by the Competency Based e-portal of Security and Safety Engineering (eSEC). Their quality strongly depends on the quality of the employees. Recruitment of employees into security companies requires sophisticated methodologies and helping tools for selection support. There are not many introduced methodologies in the Slovak Republic and there are not any support tools in this area either. The creation of a software tool within project based teaching for the competent selection of employees into private security companies is described here. The created software tool consists of several collaborating modules. Its central part is a database storing the statutory requirements for each standardized job title as well as the specific requirements for particular job titles. One module is the database system module managing the database and its codebooks. Another module is a web application providing the possibility to create a set of requirements for given standardized job titles. The web application is a freely available module allowing authenticated human resources departments to define a set of requirements for their specific standardized job titles with included statutory requirements. E-Iearning represents application of new technologies and methods in education. This paper explores the employment of digital technologies to facilitate and support virtual spaces for bringing learners together. We used Social Network Analysis (SNA) method to analyze the data collected from the e-learning platform. SNA provides a powerful mathematical approach to study the process of computer supported collaborative learning from a theoretical point of view. In this study, we empirically evaluated data from the e-learning platform to find key indicators for student performance. The research was conducted at the University of Novi Sad, Serbia. Intelligent space (IS) is a special modification of IoT for robotic needs. To support this statement a modular IS for educational purposes was created.
