As the purpose of obtaining suited impedance, the radiating patch is fed by coupling of the feeding element which compensates the additional inductance of using probe-fed. Here we simulated the performances of three kinds of feed horns, corrugated horn, smooth-walled horn and diagonal horn. The calculation results at 500 GHz show that the corrugated horn has the best performance, but is relatively difficult to fabricate. On the other hand, as the best choice, the smooth-walled horn has the quite good performance and is the easiest one to manufacture. The input matching network is designed through the technique of capacitive feedback matching network. The proposed LNA is operated at the frequency of 2.4 GHz. It has a gain S21 of 21.63 dB, a noise figure (NF) of 1.7dB . The input return losses is better than-13.4 dB. The output return losses is better than-18.3 dB. The inputl-dB compression point is - 19.0541dBm. The relation between bandwidth of the polarizer and the dimension of the square waveguide are analyzed and deduced. Based on this analysis, concluded the requirement of the waveguide's dimension for design of a wide band/dual band polarizer. Finally introduce a procedure for designing this kind of polarizer. A compact polarizer with six irises and a shorter electrical length was developed and optimized within the band of 24 GHz-36 GHz which is over 40% bandwidth. This millimeter wave source is used as local oscillators (LO) in a passive millimeter wave imaging system. It achieves a -90.46 dBc/Hz (at 10 kHz offset 92 GHz carrier frequency) phase noise performance, the spur level is lower than -60 dBc. A well matched low insertion loss waveguide four-way power divider is designed, and its output power is more than 12 mW at each output port. In addition, analysis indicates that the wideband LO noise performance is critical in passive millimeter wave imaging systems. However, there is little information about their dielectric properties in the millimeter-wave regions. To obtain their dielectric properties, an automatic open resonator measurement system at Ka-band is designed and constructed. The method of multi-frequency points measurement with frequency variation technique is adopted in order to realize the precision determination of cavity length over a broad band. After the checking of repeatability, credibility, reliability and stability, the stability and high accuracy of the measurement system are ensured. It is called certified measurement system and is used to measure the above materials. The results of lots of measurement show that the standard deviation of measurement error is less than 0.154% in permittivity and 19.61% in loss tangent. Meanwhile, some experimental summaries on the open resonator technique are provided. Benefiting from the uniplanar structure of CPW and slotline, the proposed filter could obtain a uniplanar configuration. A novel transition between CPW feeding lines and slotline resonators is introduced, making it convenient to control the external quality factors. The detailed design procedures of the proposed bandpass filter are given. A demonstration filter of this type has been fabricated and measured.
