However due to lack of systematic approaches for hardware implementation of complex fuzzy controllers limits the applicability of these techniques in modern industrial applications. This paper, aims to address various hardware implementation issues of fuzzy system on a reconfigurable FPGA platform. It also proposes hardware friendly neuro-fuzzy technique as a better alternation of a fuzzy system. A simple problem has been realization on the Xilinx SPARTAN 3AN FPGA development board to demonstrate the feasibility and superiority of the neuro-fuzzy over the fuzzy system. The results obtained under this study clearly show that neuro-fuzzy technique is the optimum choice in terms of speed, accuracy and resource utilization if hardware implementation is concerned.","PeriodicalId":301088,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Energy, Power and Environment: Towards Sustainable Growth (ICEPE)","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127845707","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For maintaining accuracy of the system a novel method is used which is multi channel direct sequence spread spectrum technique and it is also used as a filter for eliminating low frequency noise to maintain accuracy. It also meets the demand of development of a microcontroller based embedded system for physical parameter measurement. The system should monitor and provides data for examining with high accuracy. The system is initially tested with two transducers but there is a provision to incorporate eight number of transducer with same accuracy.","PeriodicalId":301088,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Energy, Power and Environment: Towards Sustainable Growth (ICEPE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129068219","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The series connection of wind turbines is used with dc-dc converters to build HVDC link voltage. In the present work each wind turbine is furnished with a 5 MW permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) connected to ac-dc-dc converter. 150 MW wind farm is modelled and simulated using thirty units of wind generator with a rated dc link voltage of 125 kV at 1.22 kA. It is observed that the proposed topology reduces the output current fluctuation in HVDC link. The key idea in this approach is to approximate a given disturbance signal in the least square sense, such that the uncorrelated part (disturbance) of the signal is not present in the approximated version of the signal. It is, therefore, possible to detect and localize power quality (PQ) disturbances by analyzing the difference of the original and approximated signals. This is achieved by choosing the degree of the polynomial using the criterion of minimum error-variance. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is tested and demonstrated to detect and localize PQ disturbances with simulated and actual power line disturbance data.","PeriodicalId":301088,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Energy, Power and Environment: Towards Sustainable Growth (ICEPE)","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123748871","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Accidental leakage of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) is known to cause fire hazards causing loss of life and property and hence real time monitoring of such leakages at room temperature using a cheap and easily available mechanism is of vital importance. In this paper, we have fabricated highly sensitive zinc oxide (ZnO) nanorods to study the detection of LPG using a simple and economical method and have measured the sheet resistance of ZnO thin film at room temperature by the Four Point Probe method. The change in the value of sheet resistance of ZnO thin film indicates that ZnO is a promising material for LPG detection and this property of ZnO can be exploited for fabrication of low cost LPG sensors.","PeriodicalId":301088,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Energy, Power and Environment: Towards Sustainable Growth (ICEPE)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115648462","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The rotor bars are short circuited using inner and outer copper rings so as to form a cage winding. Stator slots and rotor slots are created using drilling operations. The stator carries three phase distributed windings whereas rotor haves the brass/ copper bars embedded on the rotor slots and short circuited by inner and outer copper rings.
