A pilot online survey followed by a course test and one field survey has been conducted sequentially in Chinese universities. The results of this exploratory research reveal that (1) more than half of respondents argue that online and traditional teaching pattern does make a difference in terms of teaching quality, and only a few students prefer virtual classroom to traditional classroom; (2) real data highlights that the pandemic has a critical impact on Chinese student grade via distance learning; and (3) only 49.33 percent students are satisfied with the experience of using virtual classroom during the earlier stage of the pandemic. Taking the Integrated Skills Course 2 edition as an example, the blended teaching mode is adopted to integrate Chinese classics, traditional culture, national policies, current affairs and other ideological and political elements into English teaching to realize the implementation of curriculum ideological and political in college English teaching. Ng","doi":"10.2991/assehr.k.211122.072","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.2991/assehr.k.211122.072","url":null,"abstract":"This paper aims to investigate the status quo of the research in relation to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and financial performance in hospitality industry. A critical review has been conducted based on 69 good quality journal papers by using both quantitative and qualitative content analysis methods. The results show quantitative method is the main stream of methodology used and US dataset is more preferable. Besides, stakeholder perspective represents the main school of thoughts in recent years. Although majority of the studies have proved positive association between CSR and financial performance, negative relationship is still evidenced by research with samples of loss-making firms. Furthermore, many studies suggest developing conceptual framework or furthering the extant theoretical framework to cope with the rapid changes in CSR fields as well as the diversified CSR behaviour of the public companies in today’s business world. The findings of this critical review bring additional insight to the CSR and hospitality academia and can stimulate scholars’ further study on how to achieve balance between social and financial performance of public companies in this industry. Theoretically, this critical review enlightens the need for developing/extending the classical theoretical model for matching with the new phenomenon in the CSR field. How to solve the problem of college students' employment has always been a topic of high concern from all walks of life, and how to improve the phenomenon of college graduates' employment has become the focus of scholars' research. This study learned about the current status of employment initiative and employment quality of 1,254 college graduates based on the 2019 questionnaire records, and explored whether employment initiative can affect employment quality. It is found that there are significant differences in the level of learning initiative of college graduates in terms of gender, educational background, political outlook, parents’ educational level, mother’s technical title, family economic level and family social status. By examining the formulation processes and implementation effects of altogether six College English curricula from historical and comparative perspectives, it is found that the actors was the MOE and academic research institutions; the means was the authority of the government; the behaviors developed from English foundation to English application ability; the people changed from science and engineering students to all non-English majors; the ends evolved from discrete language skills training to comprehensive English ability; the process developed from “top-down” to a combination of “top-down” and “bottom-up”. Over the past two decades, an increasing number of cognitive psychologists adopted this method to investigate the trajectory and mechanism of cognitive development with a focus on the variability within a specific group or subject. This paper provided a brief overview of microgenetic method and listed its potential advantages and disadvantages in the context of Second Language Acquisition (SLA).
