Ogan Komering Ilir district, especially Simpang Tigavillage, Tulung Selapan subdistrict have developed tiger shrimp and milkfish in polyculture. This studyaimed to determine the business analysis of tiger shrimp and milkfish cultivation pond polyculture anddetermine the appropriateness of the investment criteria of tiger shrimp and milkfish cultivation pondpolyculture in shrimp fishing in Simpang Tiga village, Tulung Selapan subdistrict, OKI South Sumatradistrict in November-December 2012. Questionnaire method used in this study with a sample of 32farmers and farm owners. The results of the business feasibility analysis show that the income of tigershrimp and milkfish cultivation pond polyculture in Simpang Tiga Abadi village, Ogan Komering Ilirdistrict is Rp 49,135,000 per year, while total expense amounting to Rp 27,671,320 and benefit value isRp 21,463,680 so that the tiger shrimp and milkfish cultivation pond polyculture got profit. NPV value isRp 62,263,009.28, Net B / C 2.19 and IRR value obtained 42%, then the NPV> 0, Net B / C ≥ 1, and theIRR> discount rate, so that the tiger shrimp and milkfish cultivation pond polyculture is feasible for theforeseeable future. This research aims to study the vertical dan cross section distribution of physical parameters such as temperature, salinity, and density and also to identify the types of water masses in the region. The data used are the data of temperature, salinity, and density during 2007-2010 is obtained from sensors located on spacecraft of ATLAS Mooring. There are six stations located on the 90oE and from 0-15 oN, with 4 year observation and there are 4 periods each year. The results of observations of temperature on the surface indicates the period from December to February and March to May have a similar pattern. While the pattern in the period from June to August is similar to September-November. In other hand, the temperatures around depth of 140 m to the bottom shows the same pattern throughout the year. Value of the sea surface temperature of the period from March to May is generally the highest. Observations of sea surface salinity and water column generally are the same in each period, the salinity values decreased from a low-latitude station towards the high-latitude stations. The differences found are the highest surface salinity values are more common in the period from December to February, which is found on the station I and III. The result of value sea surface density observations show a decline pattern of low-latitudes stations in to higher latitudes stations throughout the year, or a pattern that tends to the same of salinity pattern. Analysis of the TS diagram refer to Wyrtki (1961) and Emery (2003) indicates there are some type of water masses, ther are namely the Bengal Bay Water (BBW), South Indian Central Water (SICW), Indian Equatorial Water (IEW), Subtropical Lower Water (SLW), and Northern Salinity Minimum (NSM). Those water masses is found in every period, only period from December to February have differrent type of water masses, that is the Arabian Sea Water (ASW). In a previous study the antibacterial Eucheuma cottonii, had been performed by dipping the disc paper into antibacterial extract, while in this study the antibacterial extract in exact volume will be dropped onto the disc paper, so we will know the volume certainty. The aims of the study were to determine the antibacterial activity and the minimum inhibitory concentration of the extract of Eucheuma cottonii test bacteria by using methanol solvent. The study was conducted in September-October 2012. In this study, seaweed extract made by using maceration method while the antibacterial activity testing by using agar diffusion method. The study results showed that the extract of Eucheuma cottonii antibacterial activity inhibited the growth of Staphylococcus aureus with inhibition zone diameter 17.33 mm, Escherichia coli with inhibition zone diameter 16,33 mm, Vibrio cholera with inhibition zone diameter 13,67 mm and Salmonella typhosa with inhibition zone diameter 11,67 mm. Minimum inhibitory concentration of Eucheuma cottonii to Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus and Vibrio cholera were at 1% concentration while Salmonella typhosa was at 5 % concentration. {"title":"Penambahan Serbuk Buah Avicennia marina Terhadap Laju Pertumbuhan Ikan Kakap Putih (Lates calcarifer) Pada Skala Laboratorium","authors":"Eduard P Girsang, Melki, Isnaini","doi":"10.36706/MASPARI.V5I1.1297","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.36706/MASPARI.V5I1.1297","url":null,"abstract":"ABSTRAK Keberhasilan peningkatan produksi dari pakan ikan kakap tergantung dari berbagai faktor, tetapi nutrisi dari pakan merupakan faktor yang utama dalam pemeliharaan secara intensif, sebab kekurangan pakan akan menghambat pertumbuhan dan mempercepat kematian ikan yang dipelihara. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk melihat tingkat kelulusan hidup (Survival rate) ikan kakap putih (Lates calcarifer) dan pertumbuhan ikan kakap putih (Lates calcarifer) setelah diberi penambahan serbuk buah A. marina. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada 16 Mei – 20 Juni 2011. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimental laboratorium. Percobaan yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini adalah 4 (empat) perlakuan dengan 3 (tiga) kali pengulangan dengan rincian : P1 (kontrol), P2 (10 gr/100 gr pakan), P3 (20 gr/100 gr pakan), dan P4 (30 gr/ 100 gr pakan). Tingkat kelulusan hidup tertinggi yaitu 93,33 % pada perlakuan P3 (20/100 gr pakan) dan perlakuan P1 (kontrol). Perlakuan P3 (20 gr/100 gr pakan) menunjukkan laju pertumbuhan berat harian (%) dan laju pertumbuhan berat mutlak (gram) ikan kakap putih paling tinggi yaitu 4,05 % dan 0,67 gram, sedangkan laju pertumbuhan panjang harian (%) tertinggi yaitu 8,36 % pada perlakuan P3 (20 gr/100 gr pakan), dan laju pertumbuhan panjang mutlak (cm) tertinggi yaitu 0,58 cm pada perlakuan P3 (20 gr/100 gr pakan) dan P4 (30 gr/100 gr pakan).   Kata Kunci: serbuk buah Avicennia marina, laju pertumbuhan, Lates calcarifer, tingkat   kelulusan hidup.   ABSTRACT The success of increased production of snapper feed depends on many factors, but the nutrients from food is a major factor in intensive care because of feed shortages would hamper growth and hasten the death of the fish are kept. The purpose of this study to look at graduation rates of life (Survival rate) perch (Lates calcarifer) and growth of perch (Lates calcarifer) after being given the addition of fruit powder A. marina. The study was conducted on May 16 to June 20 2011. Metode experimental method used is a laboratory. Experiments conducted it this study is 4 (four) treated with 3(three) times the loop a follows: P1 (control), P2 (10 gr/100 g feed), P3 (20 gr/100 g feed), and P4 (30g / 100 g feed). Highest passing rate is 93.33% of life on treatment P3 (20/100 g feed) and P1 treatment (control).Treatment of P3 (20 gr/100 g feed) showed a daily weight growth rate (%) and growth rate of absolute weight (g) the highest perch is 4.05 % and 0.67 grams, while the length of daily growth rate (%) highof 8.36 % in the treatment of  P3 (20 gr/100 g of feed) ,and the rate of growth ","PeriodicalId":296637,"journal":{"name":"Maspari Journal","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133475212","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of this reasearch 1). to know persentage cover hard coral and soft coral 2). to analyzing the diversity, evenness and dominant of coral reefs 3). to know the parameters of the water temperature, current speed and current direction, brightness, salinity, pH, and TSS in the Pramuka Island Seribu Island. The reasearch method is used survey method, the determination of the stations point with the purposive sampling. Reef data retrieval using square transects at depths of 3 and 7 meters on 5 research stations. Identification of coral reefs using vidana program. Average conditions the percentage of coral cover on the Pramuka Island is 26,6%. Hard coral cover 6.0 to 34.8% at a depth of 3 meter and at 7 meter 9.3 to 49.5%. Soft coral cover only found at station 3 at a depth of 7 meter by 1.2% and at station 5 at a depth of 3 meter by 19.7%. Diversity of coral reefs as much as 43-55 colony genus/100m2. Coral reefs are dominated by the genus Montipora and Acropora. 0.34-0.92 coral mortality index showed the mortality rate ratio is high. Waters parameters such as temperature, current speed and current direction, brightness, salinity, pH, and TSS, which is a limiting factor in the Pramuka Island coral reefs are in the range of tolerances for coral reefs. {"title":"Aktivitas Antioksidan Daun dan Biji Buah Nipah (Nypa Fruticans) Asal Pesisir Banyuasin Sumatera Selatan Dengan Metode DPPH","authors":"Ika Juniawati Putri, Fauziyah, Elfita","doi":"10.36706/MASPARI.V5I1.1293","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.36706/MASPARI.V5I1.1293","url":null,"abstract":"ABSTRACTS Nipa (Nypa fruticans) is one of the most widely distributed and useful palm in the mangrove forests of South Sumatera. Nipa has a wide traditional medicinal diversity of use and constitute one of plants can be used as an antioxidant.. The  aims of this research to find the antioxidant activity of  Nypa fruticans   leave and fruit were the endosperm from extracts with increasing solvent polarity of  hexane, ethyl acetate and methanol. The antioxidant activity were measure by free radical scavenging method with DPPH and the control used vitamin C. The result of this research shows leave extract of nipa with increasing solvent polarity has an actives antioxidant  than fruit were the endosperm extract. Antioxidant activity of leave extract has  IC50 value of 52.86±2.849 ppm with heksan solvent , ethyl acetate solvent of 26.81±1.755 ppm and methanol  solvent of 17.76±0.107. Vitamin C as a control has a IC50  value  14.82 ± 0624 ppm. Leaf extract in the polar solvent methanol has a value IC50 close to the standar antioxidant vitamin C  which is a pure compound. This suggests that the nipa palm has potential as a source of antioxidants from the coastal region. Keywords: Nypa fruticans, antioxidant activity, DPPH, South Sumatera ABSTRAK Nipah (Nypa fruticans) merupakan tumbuhan palem yang memiliki kelimpahan tinggi  dan peranan penting di kawasan hutan mangrove Sumatera Selatan, Indonesia. Nipah memiliki manfaat sebagai obat tradisional dan  kandungan dari tumbuhan ini salah satunya dapat digunakan sebagai antioksidan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menentukan potensi aktivitas antioksidan dari daun dan biji buah Nipah (Nypa fruticans) dengan menggunakan pelarut kepolaran meningkat yaitu heksan, etil asetat dan metanol. Pengujian aktivitas antioksidan dilakukan dengan peredaman radikal bebas menggunakan metode DPPH dan kontrol digunakan vitamin C. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ekstrak daun nipah  dengan kepolaran meningkat aktif sebagai antioksidan dibandingkan ekstrak biji buah nipah. Aktivitas antioksidan daun nipah memiliki nilai IC50 52.86±2.849 ppm pada pelarut n-heksan, pelarut etil asetat 26.81±1.755 ppm dan pelarut metanol 17.72±0.107. Vitamin C sebagai kontrol memiliki nilai IC50 14.82±0.624 ppm. Ekstrak daun nipah dalam pelarut metanol memiliki nilai IC50 yang mendekati standar antioksidan vitamin C yang merupakan senyawa murni. Hal ini berarti bahwa tumbuhan nipah memiliki potensi sebagai sumber antioksidan alami yang berasal dari  kawasan pesisir. There were eight species found in this study were grouped into pioneer group (Cymodocea rotundata, Halodule pinifolia, Halodule uninervis, Halophila ovalis, Syringodium isoetifolium) and climax (Cymodocea serrulata, Enhalus acoroides, Thalassia hemprichii), with mixed vegetations. Density, covering percentage and biomass in Andai and Wosi were dominated by H. pinifolia; Rendani and Tj. Mangewa were dominated by T. hemprichii; and Briosi were dominated by C. rotundata and T. hemprichii. INP in Andai and Wosi (dominated by H. pinifolia) were 290.005 and 243.767, respectively; Rendani and Tj. Mangewa (dominated by T. hemprichii) were 101.725 and 135.139, respectively; and Briosi (dominated by C. rotundata) was 120.146. The highest ratio of above and below biomass was found in Andai (7.831) and the lowest was found in Briosi (2.103). Seagrass community in Rendani, Tj. Mangewa and Briosi had higher biodiversity index than Wosi and Andai (0.109 and 0.015). On the other hand, Rendani, Tj. Mangewa, and Briosi had lower dominance index (0.262, 0.421 and 0.338, respectively), compared to Andai (0.989) and Wosi (0.889). Level of similarity among seagrass community in Rendani, Briosi and Tj. {"title":"Daya Serap Akar dan Daun Mangrove Terhadap Logam Tembaga (Cu) di Tanjung Api-Api, Sumatera Selatan","authors":"Anna Ida Sunaryo","doi":"10.36706/MASPARI.V5I1.1288","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.36706/MASPARI.V5I1.1288","url":null,"abstract":"ABSTRACT Tanjung Api-Api is an important ecosystem in South Sumatra. This ecosystem is a busy track for various types of vessels and fishing activities, and the presence of mangrove forest make this a unique ecosystem. Activities conducted in the waters of Tanjung Api-Api will generate wastes and some extent affect the mangroves along the water. One of the hazardous waste sufficient for mangrove ecosystem is copper (Cu) considering the role of Cu for plant metabolism that will lead to death if the amount of excess. Therefore, this study focused on the function of mangroves in the face of heavy metal waste by absorbing and accumulating Cu in mangrove plant tissue (roots and leafes), especially Avicennia and Rhizophora.The results showed that roots  accumulate higher. The average Cu content in the roots and leaves of Avicennia is 0.0035 ppm and 0.0013 ppm, while in the roots and leaves of Rhizophora is 0.0028 ppm and 0.0007 ppm. Those accumulation has not exceeded for mangroves beause of the ability to absorb Cu up to 15 ppm. The accumulation in Avicennia higher than Rhizopora which indicate that the leading zone of mangroves accumulate higher than the behind zone. Key words : copper (Cu), roots and leaves mangroves, Tanjung Api-Api     ABSTRAK Perairan Tanjung Api-Api merupakan suatu ekosistem penting di wilayah Sumatera Selatan. Perairannya yang menjadi jalur sibuk berbagai jenis kapal dan aktifitas perikanan, serta keberadaan hutan mangrove yang masih tebal menjadikan perairan ini sebagai ekosistem yang unik. Aktifitas yang dilakukan di perairan Tanjung Api-Api ini tentu saja akan menghasilkan limbah dan mempengaruhi kondisi mangrove yang terletak tepat di sepanjang perairan. Salah satu limbah yang cukup berbahaya bagi ekosistem mangrove adalah tembaga (Cu) mengingat peran Cu bagi metabolisme tumbuhan yang akan menyebabkan kematian bila jumlahnya berlebih . Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini difokuskan pada fungsi mangrove dalam menghadapi limbah Cu dengan cara menyerap dan mengakumulasikannya dalam jaringan tumbuhan (akar dan daun) mangrove, khususnya Avicennia dan Rhizopora. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada akar mangrove mengakumulasi Cu lebih banyak. Rata-rata kandungan logam Cu pada akar dan daun Avicennia adalah 0,0035 ppm dan 0,0013 ppm, sedangkan pada akar dan daun Rhizopora adalah 0,0028 ppm dan 0,0007 ppm. Akumulasi tersebut belum melebihi ambang batas karena mangrove dapat menyerap Cu hingga 15 ppm. Akumulasi Cu pada Avicennia yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan Rhizopora menunjukkan bahwa zona terdepan hutan mangrove mengakumulasi logam berat lebih banya","PeriodicalId":296637,"journal":{"name":"Maspari Journal","volume":"77 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124402910","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Jaya, Fitri Agustriani, Isnaini","doi":"10.36706/MASPARI.V5I1.1299","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.36706/MASPARI.V5I1.1299","url":null,"abstract":"ABSTRAK Pakan yang diberikan selama pemeliharaan benih ikan Kakap Putih harus sesuai dengan kebutuhan benih yang dipelihara, baik dari segi jumlah, waktu, syarat fisik (ukuran dan bentuk) serta kandungan nutrisi, agar pemberian pakan buatan (pellet) ini tepat sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan memiliki kualitas nutrisi yang baik untuk hidup benih ikan Kakap Putih (Lates calcarifer, Bloch).  Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh pemberian pakan buatan (pellet) yang berbeda terhadap laju pertumbuhan dan tingkat kelangsungan benih Ikan Kakap Putih (Lates calcarifer, Bloch) dan melakukan uji Analisa Sidik Ragam (ANOVA) laju pertumbuhan dan tingkat kelangsungan hidup benih Ikan Kakap Putih (Lates calcarifer, Bloch) pada skala laboratorium. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan tanggal 11 Oktober – 23 November 2011, bertempat di Laboratorium Balai Besar Pengembangan Budidaya Laut (BBPBL) Lampung. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimental laboratorium, dan dianalisa dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa pemberian pakan buatan (Pellet) KRA selama perlakuan menghasilkan laju pertumbuhan yang tertinggi 22.18% dan pemberian pakan buatan (Pellet) Turbo Feed menghasilkan laju pertumbuhan yang terendah 8.82%, sedangkan pemberian pakan buatan (Pellet) KRA, Hi Pro Vite, Turbo Feed selama perlakuan menghasilkan tingkat kelangsungan hidup yang tertinggi sebesar 100% dan pemberian pakan buatan (Pellet) Cargil menghasilkan tingkat kelangsungan hidup yang terendah sebesar 99.2%.
