Our approach is based on the use of previously implemented mobile connectivity solution PeerHood. PeerHood observes the neighborhood of the mobile device making it possible to discover and use services of other devices (i.e. distributed resources in this environment) and thus makes it possible for our new approach to utilize these resources for remote execution of various tasks. We created a service on a fixed computer which receives tasks from other devices and executes them. Remote image analysis is used as an application to show how the approach could be efficiently used","PeriodicalId":292242,"journal":{"name":"2006 International Conference on Software in Telecommunications and Computer Networks","volume":"62 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115444504","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The performance results evaluated at a bit rate of 10 Gb/s show that the bit error rate (BER) performance is limited severely by the cross-phase modulation. For a given BER of 10-9 the number of hops is limited to 7 with a probe power of -5 dBm, pump power of -15 dBm. Computations are also carried out to find the optimum bandwidth of the Fabry-Perot filter (FPF). At a given BER of 10-9, the maximum number of hops that can be traversed is 17 corresponding to an optical FPF bandwidth of two times bit rate","PeriodicalId":292242,"journal":{"name":"2006 International Conference on Software in Telecommunications and Computer Networks","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124849235","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, it is very necessary to develop faster and more efficient pattern matching algorithms in order to overcome the troubles on performance. In this paper, we presented a new pattern matching algorithm based on Boyer-Moore algorithm. The improved algorithm and its working process are described in detail. Together with a new concept of reference point, a two-dimensional array NEXT redesigned based on novel generated rules in the pre-processing phase, endorse the algorithm a better performance and more efficient. The algorithm also passed tests and is validated. One of the major reasons is the increasing number of devices that have risen lately capable of forming part of such networks. This situation makes feasible the development of new services. Especially, video-streaming is one of the most successful services demanded by the customers. In this paper we propose a QoS-aware multipath DSR-based (dynamic source routing) routing protocol which helps to improve the reliability of the connections while balancing the load and decreasing the end-to-end delay. Several multipath routing designs have been evaluated seeking to get better global performance of the network. Besides, we propose a QoS-aware architecture that includes a cross-layer scheme in which a network layer scheduler manages different priority traffics and operates according to the IEEE 802.11e MAC (medium access control) layer. Extensive simulations have been carried out to show the benefits of our scheme in providing different levels of QoS, including user-level QoS parameters","PeriodicalId":292242,"journal":{"name":"2006 International Conference on Software in Telecommunications and Computer Networks","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123129795","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The channel model proposed by WiMAX forum has been applied as path loss model at 3.5 GHz for cell coverage prediction, while at 450 MHz the Longley-Rice model for rural areas and Okumura Hata channel models for urban area is used. The cell size prediction strongly suggests to limit the 3.5 GHz frequency band to urban areas, where the higher system capacity is required, while in rural areas the 450 MHz carrier frequency provide good compromise between coverage and system capacity","PeriodicalId":292242,"journal":{"name":"2006 International Conference on Software in Telecommunications and Computer Networks","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128731846","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For this purpose, spatial and temporal correlation of real data is exploited. In addition, estimation of correlation coefficients is used for temporal extension. Availability of a suitable data set is the fundamental need for validation of algorithms and protocols that try to minimize energy consumption in sensor networks. Moreover, so far, a few real systems have been implemented and hence researchers have many limitations in accessing appropriate data. Considering these problems, the spatial and temporal AR model is introduced.
