本文对基于WiMAX标准的无线信号在450 MHz和3.5 GHz两个载波频率下,在平坦农村、丘陵农村和城市环境下的覆盖面积进行了计算、分析和比较。在3.5 GHz频段采用WiMAX论坛提出的信道模型作为路径损耗模型用于小区覆盖预测,在450 MHz频段采用Longley-Rice模型用于农村地区,Okumura Hata信道模型用于城市地区。小区大小预测强烈建议将3.5 GHz频段限制在需要更高系统容量的城市地区,而在农村地区,450 MHz载波频率在覆盖范围和系统容量之间提供了很好的折衷
