The wire specimens are exposed to PWM-VSC waveforms. After partial discharge erosion (PD) on enamel wire coatings, the surface roughness is measured by using image-tod software. In all investigations, the images used, are captured by using scanning electron microscope (SEM). The experimental results revealed that the surface erosion in the specimens without nanofiller is considerably greater compared to the specimens with ~1%, by wt, nanofillers. The statistical analysis, using Weibull distribution of dielectric strength data, show that the value of the shape parameter increases tremendously, which indicates that the coatings with nanofillers becomes more homogeneous and exhibits fewer defects.","PeriodicalId":291800,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Conference on Electrical Engineering","volume":"13 9","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-04-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132511444","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on the stator-fleld-oriented reference frame, voltage equations are linearized and the corresponding eigenvalues are determined to identify a stable operating region. With the eigenvalues, the maximum reactive power can be directly determined which can be used as limits for the range of operation. Dynamic responses of real power, reactive power and magnetizing current from a simulation result; are presented to verify the limits given by the characteristic equation.","PeriodicalId":291800,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Conference on Electrical Engineering","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-04-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123927504","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Its simple structure, rugged behavior, and economical manufacture ability makes them attractive for industrial applications. However, these merits are over shadowed by its inherently nonlinear characteristics, acoustic noise, and complexity of control. This paper discusses the practical approach of finding optimum drive parameters to control switched reluctance motor. The technique mentioned in this paper requires the test run of motor at given speed and torque for formation of lookup tables referred as training mode and then motor can be switched to normal run referred as operational mode. Eventually this technique does lead to low cost control of switched reluctance machines.","PeriodicalId":291800,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Conference on Electrical Engineering","volume":"58 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-04-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121372268","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Extensive simulations were performed to understand the device physics through various internal electrical quantities like potential distribution, electric field, etc in different regions of the device both in on/off states. It has been shown that although the floating islands concept tend to decrease the peak electric field in the drift region, there are some degrading factors effecting the device performance such as breakdown voltage tend to decrease with the increase in the number of floating islands and the I-V characteristics show a current limiting phenomenon at high gate and drain voltages known as quasi-saturation due to velocity saturation.","PeriodicalId":291800,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Conference on Electrical Engineering","volume":"441 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-04-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121638756","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

All the three major sectors i.e. generation, transmission & distribution of electrical power are discussed but the focus is on the transmission system network. This is because of the reason that this sector has not been explored fully and no documented guidelines are available in this sector. A clear elaboration regarding the role of regulatory body is also narrated with its responsibilities. The major problems are also discussed of the developed and developing countries with special reference to deregulation and restructuring practices going in Pakistan and also indicating die bottle necks, hindrances coming on die way as not to implement the deregulation in its clear concept.","PeriodicalId":291800,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Conference on Electrical Engineering","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-04-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126916110","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Conducting experiments for extracting information about protein sub cellular localization is both time consuming and costly effort. Machine learning approaches, especially, ensemble of classifiers, providing efficient and reliable mechanism of computational prediction are thus highly desired In this context, we propose a modification to the approach proposed in [K. C. Chou, J. Cell. Biol. 99(2006)517]. We have used a weighted polling method to fuse the output of individual covariant discriminant classifiers. The individual classifiers are trained on features based on pseudo-amino add composition of proteins. Three methods of verifications; re-substitution, Jackknife, and independent data set tests have been employed and give over all accuracies of 87.13%, 71.15% and 74.90% respectively. The predicted accuracies are higher than that of the existing schemes.","PeriodicalId":291800,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Conference on Electrical Engineering","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-04-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114073302","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to implement OBS control plane three types of control and reservation architectures have been presented in literature e.g. centralized, distributed and hybrid. The hybrid architecture, presented by the authors, inherits the best features of distributed and centralized architectures such as scalability features of distributed model and best resource utilization of centralized model, In this paper a dynamic resource management for the hybrid architecture in the OBS network is presented. A design of different database tables required by different software modules to manage network resources during connection establishment/teardown phases is presented.
