The majority of energy is used in transmission rather than processing of the data. Nodes within body are there for long time and need to be energy efficient so that the network lifetime is increased. In this paper, we propose an energy efficient data transmission for multi-hop network that uses particle swarm optimization (PSO) for optimizing the parameters on which energy consumption relies. An energy efficient data transmission and reception takes place by altering the parameters like node to node distance and packet size of data. The obtained results show a significant reduction of energy consumed by reducing the packet size and keeping the node-to-sink distance a constant value. The total energy consumed per hop per bit length of data packet Emh/L shows 75% optimization. The energy consumed in data transmission per bit length of data E tx /L and the energy consumed for data received per bit length of data packet E rx /L is optimized by approximately 70% and 50% respectively for hope count 2 to 5.","PeriodicalId":290965,"journal":{"name":"Electronics ETF","volume":"153 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126320076","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The optical signal is severely degraded due to fiber nonlinear effects also known as Kerr fiber nonlinearity. Nonlinear effects under investigation are self-phase modulation (SPM) and cross-phase modulation (XPM). There are several methods to compensate these nonlinear distorts, some less or more effective. Nonlinear distort due to SPM and XPM can be effectively mitigated through implementation of optical DQPSK modulation over commonly used intensity modulation known as OOK (On-Off Keying). This paper presents a numerical simulation model of 1.28 Tbps DWDM system with optical DQPSK modulation. We present several scenarios and methods to mitigate fiber nonlinear effects including Fractional Fourier Transform (FrFT). Linear and nonlinear effects are considered together, so we implement the inline FrFT module in the optical domain which causes a time-frequency plane rotation to mitigate combined linear and nonlinear effects. The performance of proposed 1.28 Tbps DQPSK modulated DWDM system is evaluated in term of bit error rate (BER) and Q factor value.","PeriodicalId":290965,"journal":{"name":"Electronics ETF","volume":"20 10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128399038","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For this purpose, first, simulations of the circuit under test (CUT) are performed before the test stage by investigating the response of the circuit under test in faulty and fault-free conditions. Following this, two signatures parameters—output voltage and supply current—are observed and used for the fault diagnosis; the CUT is simulated using the OrCAD/PSpice software, and the output is analyzed in the DC domain. This method is validated through an inverter amplifier based on the uA741 operational amplifier. Then the results of different experiments are presented to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed method by increasing its efficiency.","PeriodicalId":290965,"journal":{"name":"Electronics ETF","volume":"73 2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126612305","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, a novel probabilistic techno-economic optimization method is proposed for determining the number and positions of FPIs that lead to maximum reduction of interruptiontime and investment costs in medium voltage (MV) distribution networks with and without FLs. The proposed method is basedon a probabilistic non-sequential Monte Carlo simulation model of the real network, which is a proper compromise between complicated sequential simulation models and too simplified analytical models. The main goal of the method is to obtain maximum improvement of the network reliability indices while using the minimum number of FPIs. The method is tested on a combinedurban/rural MV distribution network in Bosnia and Herzegovina and results are thoroughly discussed.","PeriodicalId":290965,"journal":{"name":"Electronics ETF","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129282616","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This test strategy integrates the signature multi-mode hardware-based self-test (SM-BST) with the software-based self-test (SBST). In this test strategy, the microcontroller is divided into a number of main modules, and then test subroutines are used to functionally test each module, based on its instruction set architecture (ISA). The ISA is used to generate test subroutines that represent test pattern generators (TPGs) and part of the test controller. The SMHBST represents the other part of the test controller and the test response compaction (TRC). The experimental results illustrate the superiority of the HYBST in the memory utilization, test application time, testing of internal modules of the microcontroller, and testing of general-purpose input-output (GPIO) pins of the microcontroller. In addition, an integrated test solution for fault diagnosis of the circuit boards including random logic integrated circuits (ICs) and microcontroller chips is presented to indicate a real practical test strategy.","PeriodicalId":290965,"journal":{"name":"Electronics ETF","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127374853","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed method enables fast, accurate and computationally efficient assessment of different RPMFS machine designs with an arbitrary number of rotor poles, stator slots and stator phases. The appropriate stator winding layout is assembled for any feasible slot, pole and phase combination by employing the winding distribution table, which contributes to automating the design process. Based on the proposed method, a program is developed using the Octave FEMM (Finite Element Method Magnetics) toolbox. The program is suited for the use in the design stage, where it is necessary to determine various machine parameters for given core dimensions, terminal voltage constraints and adopted value of current density in the conductors, while taking iron saturation effects into account. Verification was carried out by simulating torque and EMF waveforms for several RPMFS machine designs.","PeriodicalId":290965,"journal":{"name":"Electronics ETF","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124401653","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
