We explore whether a Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) can output jigsaw piece placements. State-of-the-art GANs for image-to-image translation cannot solve the jigsaw problem in an exact fashion. Instead of learning image-to-image mappings, we propose a novel piece-to-location mapping problem and present a trainable generative model for producing output that can be interpreted as the placement of jigsaw pieces. This represents a first step in developing a complete learning-based generative model for piece-to-location mappings. We introduce four new evaluation measures for the quality of output locations and show that locations generated by our model perform favorably.","PeriodicalId":290819,"journal":{"name":"2019 2nd International Conference on Advancements in Computational Sciences (ICACS)","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133420244","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The fundamental design philosophy behind the infrastructure-less ad hoc network is its capability of self-configuring by wirelessly connecting different mobile devices that are free to move in any direction under topology change in the network. Dynamic link connectivity is an important QoS requirement to maintain network connectivity in a highly dynamic and autonomous topology in MANETs. Furthermore, network must provide proactive solutions for faster failure detection, handling the critical links, and better battery lifetime. Unfortunately, due to highly dynamic topology of MANETs, maintaining link connectivity is an extremely difficult task. Nevertheless, there are still great issues and challenges related to the existing techniques for providing better link connectivity in the network due to its failure in providing efficient robustness in responding to topology change. This paper aims to address the faster failure detection scheme for improving connectivity property of the network, thus, justifying the QoS argument in MANETs. Accordingly, it becomes imperative to address bottlenecks in link re-connectivity for achieving improved link connectivity in order to maximize QoS routing performance of the network by employing faster failure detection.","PeriodicalId":290819,"journal":{"name":"2019 2nd International Conference on Advancements in Computational Sciences (ICACS)","volume":"1 3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125457031","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Precision, recall/true positive rate and false positive rate have been used to evaluate the performance of models. In literature, area under receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC-ROC) has been used to evaluate the model performance. The standard learning goal of the defect model is to optimize the (AUC-ROC). Use of this measure has also been advocated in numerous benchmarking studies. The literature has discussed the performance bar (or so-called ceiling effect) of AUC-ROC targeted models. The literature has also indicated the use of area under precision recall curve (AUC-PR) as an evaluation parameter for the models. This study investigates if AUC-PR curve gives different information regarding model performance. To this end this study ranks the existing models based on AUC-ROC and AUC-PR and report the change in ranking of these models. The change in ranking gives an opportunity to study if the ceiling effect can be managed and AUC-PR (instead of AUC-ROC) can be considered as a goal for the prediction models. AUC-PR based evaluation of the models can help avoid the extra cost, time, and effort employed to test non-defective modules.","PeriodicalId":290819,"journal":{"name":"2019 2nd International Conference on Advancements in Computational Sciences (ICACS)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127153202","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Each year thousands of people over age 65 experience falls. Because of that a large number of elderly people gets injured. Even some of them die if not rescued on time. With such immense increase in the falls that harms the individuals physically and/or mentally Researchers found ways to tackle the problem by devising different techniques for the purpose of fall detection. Most of techniques being used rely on Threshold based algorithms (TBA). While some of them brought the Machine Learning (ML) into the field to fight detect falls. The use of TBA and ML combinedly for fall detection has been reported. But still every technique has its advantages and disadvantages. Research validates that cognitive functioning and adaptive skills of ID individual can be reduced through Early Intervention which is a set of therapeutic services provided as soon as the first sign of disability appears. As intellectually disabled children (IDC) are better able to learn through demonstrations and role plays that is why early intervention techniques such as Social Stories and Video Modeling are considered effective at teaching various adaptive, social, daily life and self help skills to IDC. Research recommends that these social stories should be developed with respect to the targeted culture and should represent the cultural norms, language and attire else they might not be helpful. This study has been conducted in collaboration experts and teachers from Amin Maktab, Lahore (Pakistan) where the experts have not only endorsed the significance of culturally tailored social stories but have also recommended to present these social stories to Pakistani IDC using smart phones to teach them various social and adaptive skills. This paper proposes the framework to develop culturally tailored social stories for Pakistani IDC followed by the design implications for development of an Android application Parity through which the social stories shall be presented.","PeriodicalId":290819,"journal":{"name":"2019 2nd International Conference on Advancements in Computational Sciences (ICACS)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121547902","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Preferably, skin disease should be treated without delay by a dermatologist. But due to shortage of expertise in rural areas, it is impossible so far. An expert system is capable of providing timely and correct diagnosis, that’s why building an expert system is a potential challenge. In this paper we will present a design of fuzzy expert system for the detection of skin (erythemato squamous) diseases. Because uncertainty and impreciseness among the symptoms in diagnosis process, we choose fuzzy logic based design. Fuzzy logic facilitates to deal with imprecise boundaries of input symptoms in medical expert system. Consequently, reliability of systems results will increase. For implementing the system, we use MATLAB fuzzy logic toolbox. Fuzzy logic controller generates a result from given symptoms using Mamdani MIN-MAX inference mechanism and for defuzzification uses centroid (COG) method. The accuracy of the designed fuzzy expert system was 90.27%. Furthermore, fuzzy expert system effectively used in health care for detecting and healing of erythemato squamous diseases.","PeriodicalId":290819,"journal":{"name":"2019 2nd International Conference on Advancements in Computational Sciences (ICACS)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133106556","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
