Therefore managing water resource is very necessary. Watershed modelling is to organize the watershed such that all the water related problems like water scarcity and flooding can be eliminated. Runoff is the most primary feature that is needed when planning water control strategies like water conservation structures, waterways and erosion control structures etc. Runoff estimation is essential for completing and executing plans, programs and tasks to support and expand watershed utilities. The most accepted technique to measure runoff or water discharge is Soil Conservation Service-Curve Number (SCS-CN) method. This project is dominant because here curve number is calculated on the basis of the properties of Land Use/ Land cover and soil type of the study area. Here Banaras Hindu University's (BHU) South Campus is taken as study area and curve numbers was calculated using HecGeo-HMS tool and by the help of softwares like ArcGIS and Erdas imagine runoff estimation and watershed modelling are done. This project highlights the role of Geographical Information System (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS) on calculating Runoff using overlay techniques. Daily rainfall for ten years and LISS-IV satellite image is the data used in this project. And then the calculated Curve number can be used for runoff estimation and watershed modelling.","PeriodicalId":289216,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Recent Advances in Information Technology (RAIT)","volume":"65 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123673159","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There is the need to develop an effective, secure, reliable and low cost surveillance and safety system in underground mines. This paper presents a low cost, low power mobile wireless underground mine environment monitoring system, developed by using the ZigBee protocols based wireless data transfer system. The system includes a small board integrating all sensors designed for monitoring the underground environment. Suitable firmware is developed for secure and reliable wireless data transfer from the sensor network. Data, transferred through routers and coordinator is received by data management & acquisition software, developed for the purpose. This helps in displaying the real-time data in tabular and graphical forms as well as for alarm generation in case of exceeding the limits. The whole system is tested in a model mine successfully.","PeriodicalId":289216,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Recent Advances in Information Technology (RAIT)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129584872","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The use of electronic devices is not only getting more and more popular but also the size of the gadgets is getting smaller. This makes the dissipation of heat from smaller surface areas more challenging than ever. Heat pipes are one such means to transfer heat in electronic and space applications due to its ability to transfer heat over low temperature difference and to work in zero gravity. Mass optimization of heat becomes of prime importance in these mass and space constrained applications. However, optimization is challenged by the constraints that have to be taken into consideration while designing heat pipe. The present study has intended show the suitability of evolutionary technique of Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) in constrained problems by optimizing the mass of heat pipe used in satellite application while managing the constraints applicable to its operation and design.","PeriodicalId":289216,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Recent Advances in Information Technology (RAIT)","volume":"56 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127696598","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to acquire new and retain existing customers, various producers and market managers effectively employ online feedback analytics tools. Most of the online feedback analysis tools are built using sentiment analysis models. Sentiment analysis evolved in the last one and half decades for review mining process. An important sub-task of sentiment analysis called sentiment classification is used mainly to decide whether a written review is expressing either positive or negative sentiment towards a target entity. In order to have better sentiment classification accuracy, we proposed a hybrid deep learning architecture, which is a hybrid of a two layered Restricted Boltzmann Machine and a Probabilistic Neural Network. The proposed approach yielded better accuracy for five different datasets compared to the state-of-the-art.","PeriodicalId":289216,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Recent Advances in Information Technology (RAIT)","volume":"144 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116710820","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The paper puts forward a method that clusters pixels into four regions based on their intensities. The method uses the process of thresholding with two local thresholds and one global threshold. The novelty of this process lies in the automated generation of three thresholds based on intrinsic characteristics of the image. The global threshold is obtained through neighborhood comparison of localized regions spanning through the image. The global threshold forms two sets of pixels, from which the local thresholds are obtained.","PeriodicalId":289216,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Recent Advances in Information Technology (RAIT)","volume":"377 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126745080","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A fairly large number of studies have focused on information system success, but little effort has been made on its contribution towards other functional areas of management. In this paper we integrate information systems with human resource management and propose a model that explains role of human resource information system and its functions (telecommuting and gamification) in achieving certain human resource outcomes. Variables identified in this paper are well articulated in literature however, the associations are immensely fragmented. We have linked those variables in information systems arena and wish to deliver a probable nomological network.","PeriodicalId":289216,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Recent Advances in Information Technology (RAIT)","volume":"69 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130680035","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The pitch control mechanism has been adopted in the studied model of WT driven SEIG to control the output power of WT. The effect of exciting capacitance and the load variation during voltage buildup of the SEIG has been explored. Unlike grid connection mode, in a standalone mode of operation, both the voltage and the frequency are required to maintain its nominal value. Dynamic performance of the SEIG under constant wind speed conditions are simulated under the platform of MATLAB/SIMULINK® owing to step change in load and excitation capacitance. Analysis of terminal voltage during load variation for uncontrolled and controlled condition are analyzed and presented.","PeriodicalId":289216,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Recent Advances in Information Technology (RAIT)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131012996","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
