It is important to detect best possible combination of feature extraction and classification algorithms efficiently and accurately recognize left and right lower limb motor imagery from Electroencephalogram (EEG) signals in minimum time possible. An optimal choice has to be reached to select a feature extraction and classification technique with highest accuracy in minimum time. Thus, in this study we direct our attention towards finding the best feature extraction technique and classifier. Preprocessing of the EEG signals are done and relevant features are extracted. The extracted features are then used to classify left and right imagery movement by k-Nearest Neighbor (kNN) and Naïve-Bayesian classifier. The best classification accuracy of 90% is obtained by kNN for power spectral density feature set requiring a time of 0.0531 sec. Thus, in future, it can be applied in real time classification to obtain best results in minimum time.","PeriodicalId":289216,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Recent Advances in Information Technology (RAIT)","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123077296","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It has created immense employment opportunities for the female workforce by providing them a suitable internal work environment and favorable human resource practices. These practices empower women employees and provide them with equal opportunities at the workplace. This study attempts to discuss women employees work life in terms of opportunities and challenges they face in the information technology sector. The study is based on information from different secondary sources. The multiple case study approach has been adopted in the paper. Findings reveal that though fairly satisfactory yet an optimal level of gender inclusivity is still needed to be achieved in this sector. Further, the study provides several suggestions to policy makers with respect to gender inclusive planning and gender sensitive priorities towards the information technology sector.","PeriodicalId":289216,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Recent Advances in Information Technology (RAIT)","volume":" 9","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120834302","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The synchronization algorithm employs synchronous reference frame based phase locked loop with a positive sequence detection. As compared to other methods, this algorithm provides a higher degree of immunity and insensitivity to noise and harmonic distortions. The maximum efficiency of the system may be achieved by overcoming the voltage unbalances and frequency distortion using this algorithm. The synchronization algorithm is studied by using a three phase parallel, 6 kilowatt load connected to three phase grid connected photovoltaic system.","PeriodicalId":289216,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Recent Advances in Information Technology (RAIT)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121103390","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Among the many characteristics of pellets, its size and strength are of great importance and considered to be inversely proportional to each other. Most of the researchers analyzed these two properties separately and very few studies tried to understand the trade-off that exists between them. In the present study, an effort has been made to investigate the compromise between pellet size and strength and determine the process parameters that characterize this trade-off. A material system of manganese concentrate is examined and mathematical functions are derived for pellet size and strength in terms of three operating parameters - moisture content, disc inclination and disc rotational speed. These fitness functions are then supplied to NSGA-II, a multiobjective evolutionary algorithm, to produce pareto-optimal (PO) solutions for conflicting objectives. The optimization results confirm the trade-off and the obtained PO solutions signify the characterizing process variables that influence the trade-off.","PeriodicalId":289216,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Recent Advances in Information Technology (RAIT)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116070146","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Power consumption is major problem from both economic and environmental point of view. One of the main components of data centers is virtualization. We have addressed the problem of Virtual Machine (VM) consolidation in the data center servers using the technique of Bin Completion. Bin Completion is basically an artificial intelligence based algorithm used for bin packing problem. We have scaled up and modified the algorithm to fit our problem statement of VM consolidation and analysed the results obtained against Best Fit algorithm. After that we did an extensive study of the application of machine learning algorithms for the purpose of CPU utilisation prediction and analysed its effects on the overall energy consumption of a data center as well as the SLA violations.","PeriodicalId":289216,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Recent Advances in Information Technology (RAIT)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128468366","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
