Furthermore, the authors investigate the effects of two crucial parameters, which are the spring stiffness and actuator force, on performances of the suspension. The study shows that the large spring stiffness results in the small initial displacement and requires the large actuator force, the small spring stiffness leads to the large initial displacement and needs the small force, and the large actuator force improves steady-state and dynamic performances and results in large volume, more weight and high cost of the actuator. Thus, this paper is considerable valuable for better designs of the electromagnetic active suspension and the actuator.","PeriodicalId":288978,"journal":{"name":"2011 4th International Conference on Power Electronics Systems and Applications","volume":"114 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131911384","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The DC side capacitor's mechanism on the DC side voltage is analyzed and the power feedforward control strategy based on the power mathematical model is researched in this paper, which can effectively restrain the DC side voltage fluctuation caused by the load power disturbances. A new sector division method is researched and an optimized switching table is designed in this paper for optimizing the modulation scheme and improving the regulation of the reactive power. The simulative and experimental results show that the voltage and current of the three-phase PWM rectifier have better dynamic and static response preferences. The AC side current aberrance is smaller and the DC side voltage is steady under this control strategy. Also the PWM rectifier can implement PWM commute with unity power factor.","PeriodicalId":288978,"journal":{"name":"2011 4th International Conference on Power Electronics Systems and Applications","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130411474","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A 3×4 MC consists of 12 bi-directional switches, one leg more than the conventional three-leg matrix converters (3×3 MC). The 4th leg provides a circulation loop for unbalanced components of load currents, as the neutral wire in three-phase four-wire power supplies. Existing control methods for 3×4 MC, such as space vector modulation (SVM), etc., are facing complexity of control and large amounts of calculation. Hence, they're difficult to be implemented. In this paper, an average model of common mode output voltage of MC based on the method of two line voltage synthesis (TLVS) is built, which helps to predict the neutral-point voltage needed in each sampling period. The neutral-point voltage is obtained on the 4th leg by conducting its switches properly, thus realizing three-phase four-wire output. This method inherits the advantages of TLVS; moreover, it's much simpler and easier for hardware implementation. At last, the vadility and feasibility of this method has been verified via simulation by MATLAB.","PeriodicalId":288978,"journal":{"name":"2011 4th International Conference on Power Electronics Systems and Applications","volume":"189 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132752001","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to its unique structure, the device is considered as a 2D power generator for sustainable energy utilization such as wind and wave energy with multidimensional motion forms. The generator has the advantages of simple structure and elimination of mechanical gears and rotary-to-linear motion converters. In this paper, a three dimensional (3D) mechanical model of this generator is designed and finite element analysis (FEA) is applied to simulate the model. From the simulation results, the coupling effect between each direction of power generation is negligible and each phase can be controlled independently. It is expected that the planar switched reluctance generator (PSRG) finds its potential applications in energy utilization area.","PeriodicalId":288978,"journal":{"name":"2011 4th International Conference on Power Electronics Systems and Applications","volume":"163 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132697225","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By observing the dynamics of the vehicle, the controller output forces through linear actuators. Integral sliding mode control is applied here to calculate the output forces and then reject the disturbance. In this paper, an accurate nonlinear active suspension system model is developed first; decoupling of the sprung mass subsystem is investigated hereafter to isolate the dependence of the variables, then integral sliding mode control is used to reject the disturbance and reach the referenced surface for each subsystem. PID control, as a conventional control method, is compared here with the integral sliding mode control. The simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed control method.","PeriodicalId":288978,"journal":{"name":"2011 4th International Conference on Power Electronics Systems and Applications","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123462177","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
