Vegetables crops play a unique role in the Indian economy by improving the income of the farmers. For understanding the vegetables farming adopting self-confidence of rural youth, the scale to measure the vegetables farming adopting self-confidence of rural youth was developed. In initial stage, 35 statements reflecting self-confidence of rural youth about vegetables farming were collected from relevant literature and discussion with experts of extension and horticulture disciplines. The collected statements were edited according to the criteria laid down by Edward (1957) and then 24 statements reflecting self-confidence of rural youth about vegetables farming were selected as they were found to be unambiguous. Based on the median and Q values, 10 statements reflecting self-confidence of rural youth about vegetables farming were finally selected to constitute self-confidence scale. The test was found to be reliable (0.77) and valid.","PeriodicalId":284553,"journal":{"name":"Gujarat Journal of Extension Education","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116477456","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study’s objective was to investigate the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on the financial aspects of the rural and urban community in the Banaskantha district “during and post-lockdown. The study sample consisted of 200 respondents randomly selected from ten rural and ten urban areas in the Banaskantha district. An interview schedule was developed to collect primary data from respondents. The result showed that economically rural respondents were moderately affected during the lockdown but highly affected post-lockdown. In comparison, urban respondents’ social and economic aspects were extremely affected during the lockdown and moderately affected post-lockdown. A significant difference between lockdown and post-lockdown for social and economic effects was found due to the COVID-19 pandemic between rural and urban respondents. Overall, it can be concluded that COVID-19 adversely affected the economic aspects of rural and urban communities during and post-lockdown. Thus, better management by the government against the COVID-19 pandemic is essential to mitigate the financial crisis.","PeriodicalId":284553,"journal":{"name":"Gujarat Journal of Extension Education","volume":"2015 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125703067","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To increase yield production, many parameters are responsible like weather, fertilizers, pesticides, and soil. Soil is an important key aspect of agriculture, as an increase in yield can only be attained by ensuring that the soil provides a balanced and adequate supply of nutrients. The main aim of the work is to predict soil fertility using data mining classification techniques. Soil fertility is predicted using data mining classification techniques such as J48, Random Forest, Decision Table, PART, and Naive Bayes. These classifier algorithms are used to extract soil fertility knowledge from soil data. A comparison of different classifier algorithms concerning prediction accuracy revealed that the Random Forest is the best classifier to classify the soil fertility dataset. The Random Forest classifier algorithm can produce more consistent results of soil data for the Anand District of Gujarat State and the Kappa Statistics in the prediction were improved.","PeriodicalId":284553,"journal":{"name":"Gujarat Journal of Extension Education","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115194454","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
