Although a sizeable portion of rural community is engaged in paddy farming, yet the production is not satisfactory which might be due to traditional method of cultivation. As the district is tribal dominated, therefore, the study strives to explore the adoption behaviour of both tribal and non- tribal paddy growers. A total of 101 respondents (59 non-tribal and 42 tribal farmers) were considered as the final sample by proportionate random sampling method. The findings revealed that above sixty five percent of total farmers had overall medium adoption level. However, (52.54%) of non- tribal and 69.04 per cent tribal farmers exhibited medium level of adoption. The “t value” was found to be significant. Factors such as annual income and occupational status of the farmers had a positive and significant association with the extent of adoption. Further, these significant and nearly significant variables were taken for Tobit analysis to find the influence of these factors on extent of adoption, where none of the factors showed a positive and significant contribution towards adoption process.","PeriodicalId":284553,"journal":{"name":"Gujarat Journal of Extension Education","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123166471","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A high prevalence of the sickle gene has been demonstrated in various tribal communities of Gujarat state. Tapi is tribal dominated district. The patient suffering from sickle cell anemia develops blood related complication and sickle cell disease sufferers have also shortened lifespan and poor quality of life. So to combat against this disease we need to focus on tribal population. Knowledge plays an important role for achieving desired results. Thus, the study was carried out to assess the knowledge of tribal women towards sickle cell anemia. The data was collected purposively with 100 tribal women who have positive sickle cell status. The data was collected with the help of structured interview schedule and analyzed with appropriate statistical tools. It is indicated that majority of tribal women had young aged, sickle cell trait status, married, in joint family, more than half of tribal women had education upto higher secondary level & 36.00 per cent tribal women were illiterate. Development of India can be possible through strengthening the socioeconomic condition of rural people. The rural work experience is basic for developing a graduate’s competence. Rural Agricultural Work Experience (RAWE) is an opportunity to the students to live in rural areas and develop right perspective of rural life. RAWE is one of the best means to produce well trained agricultural graduates with broad based knowledge and techniques to meet the emerging challenges. It provides significant hands on experience in acquiring skills, which are mainly aimed at creating a product or providing a service to those who demand. In fact, RAWE is basic to develop graduate competence as a teacher, researcher and extension specialist. Agricultural students have immense potential which, if properly utilized, can be of great use for agricultural development. So, RAWE provide this facility to the students. Work experience includes physical and/or mental effort exerted for a purposeful activity that includes training, observation and practice, experience and personal participation or involvement. The main objective of the present study was to find out the attitude of under graduate students towards RAWE programme of Sardarkrushinagar dantiwada agricultural university and Anand agricultural university of Gujarat state.","PeriodicalId":284553,"journal":{"name":"Gujarat Journal of Extension Education","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123866218","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As the KVK has to work for the rural people and farming community of the whole district, one of the important factors for success of KVK is the attitude of its scientists towards working in rural area. Thus it is very important to study the attitude of the KVK scientists towards working in rural area. Keeping this in view, a scale has been developed to measure the attitude of KVK scientists towards working in rural area. Scale Product Method which combines the Thurston’s technique of equal appearing interval scale for selection of the items and Likert’s technique of summated rating was used to develop scale. The process started with identifying the aspect, collection of items followed by relevancy and item analysis and checking the reliability and validity for precision and consistency of the results. Total 25 statements were selected out of which 14 statements were finally retained in the scale for measuring the attitude of KVK scientists towards working in rural area. The developed scale was found reliable.","PeriodicalId":284553,"journal":{"name":"Gujarat Journal of Extension Education","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128770059","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Majority of them had medium to low level of interpersonal conflict with their superiors and colleagues; while with their subordinates they had medium to high level of interpersonal conflict. Overall extent of interpersonal conflict was medium to low. Collaboration and accommodation were found to be the dominant conflict management approaches among the KVK scientists.
