Then the results of the twofold Qualification program of the hollow cathode neutralizer will be presented in more detail. Especially the influence of the environment on the neutraliser was investigated and, it was found that the TED hollow cathode neutralizer is capable of enduring the exposition to significant amounts of humidity for several times without performance degradation. Additionally, it could be demonstrated, that the plasma operation of the neutralizer serves as proper means for the regeneration of a poisoned cathode surface.","PeriodicalId":283300,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE 14th International Vacuum Electronics Conference (IVEC)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133645413","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The TWT employs an aperture grid modulated electron gun with mod-anode current control, a serpentine waveguide interaction circuit, and a single-stage depressed collector. Two TWTs have been built and tested to over 100 W pulsed output power. The first unit has been operated at high duty, producing 65 W CW output power and 75 W average pulsed power with reduced beam current. The TWT is designed for ease of manufacture, and is suitable for MPM integration, relying on conduction cooling and capable of operation to an altitude of 50k feet.","PeriodicalId":283300,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE 14th International Vacuum Electronics Conference (IVEC)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121477795","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, in reality, the uncertainty of real traffic (i.e. non-spatially-uniform) creates load imbalances among different beams so that some beams work at their maximum, but are still not able to fully meet the traffic demand (overloaded), while others beams use only a fraction of their potential capacity (underloaded). This translates into a situation in which part of the system capacity is left unused, while there is still some demand to be met elsewhere. The overall effect is a serious limitation to the usability of the total system resources. The most intuitive way to address this issue is allocating the available resources (bandwidth, time and power) on demand, depending on the specific traffic conditions.","PeriodicalId":283300,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE 14th International Vacuum Electronics Conference (IVEC)","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126340230","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
