A. Yesenin, which determines the significance of this thematic component for the author. The article attempts to classify and analyze the floronyms selected from the lyrical poems of the poet in volume 1 of the complete works. The purpose of this article is to analyze the frequency and features of using floronyms in lyrics, as well as to trace the patterns of development of S. A. Yesenin's idiostyle. The paper shows the use of lexemes from the following subgroups: names of trees, shrubs, flowers, herbs, grains and vegetables. Their main functions in the poetic text are to create a landscape, with floronyms most often evoking memories of one's native land, as well as to portray the lyrical hero's inner suffering. The central image of nature – the birch tree – had a direct true connection with the poet's homeland, and the whole of Russia was «birch-like» for S.A. Yesenin. Yesenin's birch tree becomes the \"heroine\" of most of his poems as a symbol of love for his country, his homeland, his father's home. The peculiarities of word usage, such as metaphorical transfer of meanings, artistic personification, violation of lexical compatibility, create the individual style of the poet Sergey Yesenin. In addition, the use of lexemes of this thematic group shows the poet's closeness to nature and people, the mythological ideas of herbs and trees from his childhood, folklore traditions representing the Russian nature and soul, which expands our understanding of the linguistic and poetic picture of S. Yesenin's world.","PeriodicalId":282574,"journal":{"name":"Verhnevolzhski Philological Bulletin","volume":"82 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123174401","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

S. Dashevskaya. The author studies the etymological connections of proper names and the peculiarities of the writer's use of their contextual convoy to describe the characters of the work. The aim of the study is to identify the N. S. Dashevskaya's intentions and preferences related to the special attitude of the writer to her characters. The most important methodological approach in this case is the use of Y. N. Karaulov's model of linguistic personality structure, as well as frequency analysis. The analysis of the anthroponyms used by the writer of the story emphasizes their multi-dimensional nature, the deep associative links between certain proper names and the function of their contextual convoy, which can be considered at all levels of the language: from sound (the use of alliteration) to supertext (connections with the reader’s cultural background knowledge and with the pragmatics of other works of the writer). Considering the specifics of the choice and functions of anthroponyms, their correlation with the most important concept «growing up», the development of connotations in these stylistically significant units, the author draws a conclusion about the ideological content of the story and the writer's intentions, motivated by the desire to support the young reader on the difficult path to adulthood. By focusing on the unusual character and his inner strength, the writer seeks to show the teenager, relating himself to the hero, the resources that can serve as support and the key to forming friendly relationships with his peers. The researcher comes to the conclusion about the special ways of expressing idiostyle features in N. S. Dashevskaya's works and their functionality in the work concerned.","PeriodicalId":282574,"journal":{"name":"Verhnevolzhski Philological Bulletin","volume":"136 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123252904","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main criterion is determined for classifying these discourses as being radical, as the manifestation of hatred as an underlying principle. The authors outline the reasons for the radicalization of the feminine and masculine media discourse. Each media discourse contains an axiological trust matrix, with the help of which the audience is captured and new users are involved, the archetypal models being used are analyzed. In total, 1,700 publications on the social network Vkontakte have been analyzed using the method of communicative content analysis through modeling quan-titative and qualitative data from January 01, 2020 to January 01, 2022. The article identifies the sub-discourses cov-ering the main semantic zones of radical feminists and masculists' media discourse in the Russian segment of the Inter-net and assuming a different explanation of the strategies to resist the oppression of women and men. Each sub-discourse presents the main thematic dominants. The threats in the radical feminine and masculine media discourse aimed at the destruction of the family and parenthood as social institutions are considered separately. The ways are outlined designed to cause rejection and hostility to the concept of «child» in the childhate sub-discourse. According to the authors of the study, the norm of modern masculinity and femininity, formed in new media, crystallized in the im-ages of the «digital troll man» and the «new Amazon»; they also describe the tools of linguistic security in social net-works.","PeriodicalId":282574,"journal":{"name":"Verhnevolzhski Philological Bulletin","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123464286","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Onomatopoeias imitate the sounds of nature, the language of animals, objects of the surrounding world. In the text, onomatopoeia can perform various functions: emotional influence, imitation, as well as the function of language economy. But one of its main functions remains sound imaging. In Russia and China, different language pictures, specific cultural elements and linguistic features are noted. All this confirms the large-scale differences in the sound imitations of both languages, and in various aspects: in the composition of the components, in the functional role, in the meanings. Despite the fact that the differences in the phonetic system of Russian and Chinese are quite large, the onomatopoeias and their functions in the languages under consideration have the same features. Onomatopes are an expression of the same emotions, feelings, sounds both in oral speech and in writing. Chinese onomatopes are a graphic copy that attributes us to the actual sounding. This fact makes onomatopoeias in Chinese similar to onomatopes in Russian. The connection of sound and meaning is especially important: linguists study the nature of this connection from different points of view. It is also important to note the difference between sound imitations and similar interjections. Onomatopes are not only part of the system of the Russian and Chinese languages, but are also a progressive link that develops the resources of the language, its word-forming capabilities, as well as the expressive sphere of expression.","PeriodicalId":282574,"journal":{"name":"Verhnevolzhski Philological Bulletin","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115022766","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Undoubtedly, in the hands of skilled manipulators the Internet can turn into a rather powerful and dangerous psychological weapon attacking people’s mind. One of such means of mass influence is the meme with national and political content. These comic pic-tures with laconic posts have become the cause for initiation of numerous legal proceedings. The purpose of the re-search is to investigate the opinion range that reflect peculiarities of the youth reaction concerning the Internet-meme with the national and political background and their tolerance level. The scientific novelty of the work is that the author examines the features of Internet memes with national connotations and approaches to identify offensive connota-tions in them. Besides, to reveal the degree of influence of the Internet-memes on recipients and their personal assess-ment of this information and communication phenomenon, anonymous questioning was carried out. The meme is a joke, sneer or criticism expressed by means of certain language means: more often, it is a picture with a laconic phrase spread throughout the Internet by various means. It usually causes particular interest and emotional response in the recipients. It has a certain urgent and topical problem in its background. Thus, the Internet-meme represents certain latent mechanism of speech influence. The basis for criminal prosecution for distributing memes online is primarily Ar-ticle 282 of the Criminal Code of the RF concerning extremism. At present, approaches to linguistic examination of memes are just being developed; it is often hard to prove the presence of offensive and extremist implications in the media object. The analysis of the studied information allows to establish that a meme whose propagation can cause legal proceedings and which represents certain danger to our society should possess the following characteristics: 1) aggression appeal, 2) offensive content, 3) propagation via mass-media and the Internet, 4) net relapse. The carried out experiment leads to the conclusion that Internet-memes are psychological means effective enough to influence peo-ple. Nevertheless, its influence is not equivocal and depends on the recipient’s mood. Undoubtedly, the issue of drawing up criteria for the linguistic analysis of memes to determine their danger to society is extremely relevant.","PeriodicalId":282574,"journal":{"name":"Verhnevolzhski Philological Bulletin","volume":"146 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116461102","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The application was created and tested by the professors of YSPU named after K.D. Ushinsky and Yaroslavl Demidov State University. It searches for and analyzes 12 rhythmic means, including alliteration and assonance on the phonostylistic level, anaphora, epiphora, symploce, diacope, epanalepsis, anadiplosis, epizeuxis, repetition of interrogative and exclamatory sentences, and aposiopesis. For the analysis we selected texts from Spanish online advertising (40 texts with a total of 17,000 characters without spaces), obtained by continuous sampling method from the websites of sales companies. The main purpose of the study is to determine the frequency and specificity of using rhythmic means in the Spanish advertising text. The main research methods are the quantitative method, the method of analysis and synthesis, the comparative method (to compare the frequency and specifics of using rhythmic means). The main result of the study is the conclusion that the most active rhythmic means of Spanish advertising are the diacope and the anaphora. It should be noted that the volume of the advertising text practically does not provide for a variety of repetitions, which explains their rather rare use in the advertising text, however, it should also be noted that the most active tool is diaсope, since its elements are in free order when repeated, which partly explains its high frequency. Other means prove to be less active.","PeriodicalId":282574,"journal":{"name":"Verhnevolzhski Philological Bulletin","volume":"102 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128897257","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Despite the fact that society is losing interest in the traditional genre of commentary – book or academic – due to the availability of any clarifying information on the Internet on request, the need for its functioning and, as a consequence, for its improvement, remains. New commentary technologies are emerging, and commentary is attracting increasing attention as a cultural phenomenon in its own right. This is probably due to the development of the anthropocentric paradigm in philology, interest in literary and cultural reflections, and the expansion of information opportunities, which determines the relevance of the study. The study of the commentary and its creation were carried out at different times by the most famous philologists, and the author of the article relies on the works of theorists and practitioners of the commentary, their opinions on this issue, which were generalized and systematized, as well as on examples of commenting on fiction in various publications. The commentary is considered in a totality of features, its definitions are analyzed from the linguistic viewpoint, the main function is described as providing and optimizing the understanding of the text, as well as aspects of its influence on the text. The goal is to analyze the impact of commentary on the text being commented on. The author identified eight aspects of the influence of commentary on the text; these aspects were presented, nominated and described, which indicates the range of tasks solved. The main and related aspects of the influence of commentary, including a destructive one, are highlighted. The novelty and theoretical significance of the study is demonstrated by the description of the change in text perception with the development of the commentary as a general cultural phenomenon. This paper uses a methodologically important new perspective for analyzing the interaction of text and commentary to it. As a result, the study shows how the text and its perception by the addressee change , if it is commented on.","PeriodicalId":282574,"journal":{"name":"Verhnevolzhski Philological Bulletin","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130768095","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The author defines the term ‘diacope’ and examines its nature and functions in the text. It is underlined that it is important to study diacope because it is used in the texts of different kinds and helps to show feelings and emotions of the author or to emphasize their words. The study analyzes short messages taken from Twitter. Rhythmanalysis tool has helped to identify the examples of diacope use in English and Russian tweets. The analysis reveals what parts of speech are repeated, the number of repetitions and the number of words between repetitions. It also shows that diacope is much more often used in English than in Russian tweets. The tool has detected the repetitions of both notional and auxiliary parts of speech in English as well as in Russian. In most cases diacope occurs within a sentence and represents only one repetition of the element in both languages. The number of words between repetitions can also vary but most commonly there are two or three words. The author concludes that it is important to take a further look at diacope because of the questions that arose during the study.","PeriodicalId":282574,"journal":{"name":"Verhnevolzhski Philological Bulletin","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133712369","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
