Experimental setup and methodology were developed to study the applicability of approaches to placement of methane and coal dust concentration sensors. Experimental setup and methodology were developed to study the applicability of approaches to placement of CO and CO2 concentration sensors and flame sensors at fire detection. The experimental data are in satisfactory agreement with the simulation results on change in the concentration of methane, coal dust and combustion products (CO, CO2) along the length of setup. This allows using the approach to adaptation of system to protected object in the form of blind drift based on computer simulation. The choice of locations for methane and coal dust sensors under the roof of blind drift at the distance of 3 to 5 m from active face is substantiated by the results obtained by experimental setup on the scale of 1:6 to mine. Fire detection can be performed both upon reaching the maximum permissible concentration of CO, and in the complex control by exceeding the CO/CO2 ratio of 0.03. CO and CO2 sensor locations are selected centrally under the roof of the mine, as close to the roof. The CO and CO2 sensors are placed in pairs in complex control. Flame sensors are oriented along the blind drift. Flame sensors are placed close to the possible ignition site taking into account the effect of radiation attenuation by combustion products.","PeriodicalId":281783,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 22nd International Conference of Young Professionals in Electron Devices and Materials (EDM)","volume":"68 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121588528","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Unfortunately, it is very difficult to observe and control this process due to high process velocity and brightness of the combustion. In the current research, we propose a new method for diagnosing the aluminum nanopowder surface during combustion under conditions of a thermal explosion in air. The ultrasonic noncontact surface diagnostics is offered as a new research method. This method is an alternative to existing methods for diagnosing combustion of metal powders, such as direct observation or the use of laser imaging systems. The advantages of the proposed method are cheaper equipment, simpler technical implementation, compact size and mobility. Moreover, it is very useful to investigate the ultrasonic propagation in the combustion-plasma layer not only for the diagnostic purposes but also for the achievement of new scientific knowledge.","PeriodicalId":281783,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 22nd International Conference of Young Professionals in Electron Devices and Materials (EDM)","volume":"70 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132509140","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The results of calculating the time and frequency responses of the MCTL in the range of parameters are presented. The calculation of the time response was carried out under various excitations: a trapezoidal pulse signal, electrostatic discharge and a signal from a real ultrashort pulse generator. As a result, deviations for the output waveforms and maximum voltage values were obtained, and a brief analysis of the bandwidth and frequency of the first resonance was performed. By means of parametric optimization of the MCTL by heuristic search, it was possible to reduce the output voltage (from 0.243 V to 0.235 V with an EMF of 1 V) and equalize the time intervals between the decomposition pulses.","PeriodicalId":281783,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 22nd International Conference of Young Professionals in Electron Devices and Materials (EDM)","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116323962","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The most important limiting factor is the low cycle-to-cycle repeatability of key switching parameters, such as switching voltages and resistance in high-resistance and low-resistance states. Presumably, this is due to the formation of several conducting filaments, the electrical activity of which can vary from cycle to cycle. In present work, this assumption is confirmed by experimental results and simulation of the switching processes in resistive memory elements based on hafnium oxide. Experimentally observed cycle-to-cycle variability of the high resistance state is well explained by presence of a secondary conductive filament placed in parallel with the primary filament that controls the low resistance state of the memory cell. To improve cycle-to-cycle variability we propose a new approach to create a single conductive filament in a silicon oxide/hafnium oxide bi-layer structure during forming. This approach is based on the localization of the electric field within a memory cell due to the controllable introduction of charge in a top silicon oxide layer.","PeriodicalId":281783,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 22nd International Conference of Young Professionals in Electron Devices and Materials (EDM)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123854957","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the main tasks in simulating land clutter is the construction of a digital terrain model describing its reflective properties. The larger the sample interval, the fewer calculations are required to simulate the echo signal. On the other side, a too-large step results in significant errors in its parameters. The model presented in the paper is a set of samples, each of which describes the power of the echo signal at a definite antenna turning angle. In this case, the power of the echo signal at angles not specified in the model can be calculated by low-pass filtering of the available samples. Expressions for determining the sample interval based on the distribution of terrain reflection and the radar parameters were obtained. Using this model allows reducing the number of calculations to simulate the echo signal. The simulation results confirm the findings.","PeriodicalId":281783,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 22nd International Conference of Young Professionals in Electron Devices and Materials (EDM)","volume":"75 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124082114","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This article presents a duplexer (frequency-splitting device) built using the volumetric modular technology. The duplexer is designed to support the simultaneous operation of the receiving and transmitting microwave paths in communication systems, air traffic control systems, etc. It is applied when one antenna is used to simultaneously transmit and receive signals at different frequency ranges. A new method of designing a duplexer with the use of volumetric strip-slot transitions which couple to each other through the electromagnetic field of a slot resonator is considered. A layout for the volumetric strip-slot transitions, which provides a high level of electromagnetic isolation between the transmitting and receiving channels, is presented. The proposed layout provides preferable s-parameters for each channel. The results of an electrodynamics simulation are presented. The simulation results confirmed the legitimacy of the application of the presented layout to ensure the necessary isolation between channels.","PeriodicalId":281783,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 22nd International Conference of Young Professionals in Electron Devices and Materials (EDM)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130455841","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The results of studies of the ultrashort pulse propagation in a cable attached to a printed circuit board (PCB) system with modal reservation are presented. Two versions of its implementation for a PCB with front and end electromagnetic (EM) coupling were investigated. It is shown that for the version with the front EM coupling, the difference in the decomposition pulse delays does not change the sign and varies from 2.2 to 2.65 ns for the maximum cable and PCB lengths, respectively. For the version with the end EM coupling, the delay difference changes the sign and varies from minus 1.25 to 2.65 ns for the maximum board and cable lengths, respectively. Therefore, with a length ratio of 0.32, the delay difference will be equal to 0. Similar studies are important when implementing an MR in series-connected structures.","PeriodicalId":281783,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 22nd International Conference of Young Professionals in Electron Devices and Materials (EDM)","volume":"63 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129571134","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, modern frame-by-frame photodetectors can hardly provide satisfying characteristics to robotics. Although there are some photodetector design techniques, no software to simulate and analyze photodetector models at infrared (IR) wavelengths are available. In this paper we show the design of the 3D IR scene simulation software as well as the IR scene model using some 3D bodies with thermal radiation characteristics. A GPU-based Vulkan IR render is presented. It allows scene rendering in a wide range of IR wavelengths. An example of several IR scene simulations was also shown.","PeriodicalId":281783,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 22nd International Conference of Young Professionals in Electron Devices and Materials (EDM)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126208540","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The non-thermal effects of EMR impact various systems of a biological organism, which leads to changes in biological processes. They disrupt the normal functioning of the body and its systems: sexual, nervous, endocrine, immune. The study presents the registered changes in a biological object caused by the influence of EMR, starting from the intracellular level and ending with the effect on the body as a whole. The results of EMR exposure are shown and include stimulating negative and positive processes in biological objects. In particular, the relationship between the EMR impact on the initiation and development of cancer processes is traced. There is also a negative effect on spermatogenesis and the activity of male germ cells, which ultimately leads to a decrease in sexual function. The positive effect of EMR is observed in a decrease in neurodegenerative changes in the brain of experimental animals.","PeriodicalId":281783,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 22nd International Conference of Young Professionals in Electron Devices and Materials (EDM)","volume":"379 ","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120877118","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
