Poland is one of the largest copper producers in the world. However, the extraction and production of copper requires constant care for the natural environment. Reservoir Żelazny Most which is situated in South – Western Poland was designed to store flotation tailings out of nearby copper mines. It is one of the biggest industrial dumps in the world. The reservoir stores huge amounts of tailings and industrial water. Water migrating from dump to groundwater could be a potential source of contamination with chlorides, sulphates, heavy metals, and other hazardous substances used in ore separation process in the copper mining industry, like detergent and phenols. Monitoring system around Żelazny Most dump, which was designed to track harmful substances concentrations in groundwater, contains measuring wells and piezometers. They are used to collect groundwater samples for chemical analyses. The idea of the study was to integrate information provided by chemical analyses and geoelectrical measurements by cokriging method, utilizing correlation between electrical resistance of the soil solution and total dissolved solids concentration in groundwater. This enabled to obtain spatial distribution of total dissolved solids concentrations in groundwater at the part of eastern foreground of Żelazny Most dump.","PeriodicalId":281768,"journal":{"name":"Multidisciplinary Aspects of Production Engineering","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131887363","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

At the moment when defects appear in the manufactured product, the production plant ceases to meet the expectations of customers. Not only is this related to the costs of production or complaints, but above all to the loss of credibility and good customer opinion. It is extremely important to identify and analyze the causes of this phenomenon as soon as possible, without allowing it to repeat itself. The problem of manufacturing defects becomes even more important when it poses a threat to the health or life of the customer. This also applies to products manufactured for the purposes of food protection. This article presents the results of the research that enabled the development of a method to reduce the production defects of a selected product in a glass factory. In order to achieve the goal, an analysis of the production process of the selected glass packaging was carried out, which allowed to identify defects and determine the causes and effects of their formation. Based on the presented research results, improvement measures have been proposed, consisting in developing a new organization of work in the area of quality control.","PeriodicalId":281768,"journal":{"name":"Multidisciplinary Aspects of Production Engineering","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133756727","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The number and variety of describing elements (and thus being subject to assessment) means that synthetic measures (measures that are one-dimensional images of complex phenomena) are more and more frequently applied to solve problems of that type. Although the methods of multivariate statistics used for this purpose differ in the way they treat assessment criteria (defining mutual dependency thresholds, unifying the field of compared criteria), the final effect of their application always offers the option to replace the entire set of features describing a given object with one variable (aggregate). The article presents a potential applicability of one of the so-called discrete multi-criteria decision-making methods (Simple Additive Weighting), which allows to determine a linear combination of normalized elements of the decision matrix and the elements of weight vector. As part of the article, the working conditions at 5 workstations were assessed (a miner’s workstation in 5 underground mine workings being excavated), taking into account 8 assessment criteria (6 were cost criteria and 2 – criteria of qualitative character). In effect of the application of the Simple Additive Weighting method, we could determine the ranking vector R, which allowed to order the examined objects and to carry out a comprehensive assessment of OSH conditions occurring in them.","PeriodicalId":281768,"journal":{"name":"Multidisciplinary Aspects of Production Engineering","volume":"81 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123129437","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An experiment conducted to identify processing difficulties and potential causes of defects is described. Samples of three materials: pine wood, hardwood plywood and mixed wood HDF with a thickness of 4 mm were cut with a CO2 laser and visually inspected and the width of the slit was measured. It was found that there was a relationship between the laser operating parameters and the obtained slit width. The higher the cutting speed, the narrower the slit. The obtained numerical results allowed to formulate technological guidelines on the selection of laser parameters depending on the material. In turn, based on the visual inspection, defects depending on the material properties were identified. An example of a non-conformity identification manual was developed, which includes illustrations to enable comparative analysis in production. It was found that in the studied process, different criteria can be adopted to qualify a product as compliant or non-compliant. A dilemma may then arise as to which criterion is more important. Therefore, a quality evaluation criteria verification sheet was proposed. Furthermore, due to the fact that the success of the laser cutting process is also dependent on other factors, a list of risks to the process was made.","PeriodicalId":281768,"journal":{"name":"Multidisciplinary Aspects of Production Engineering","volume":"67 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124941736","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to numerous technical, financial and human resource constraints, not all services can be offered both without restrictions and in equal measure in places of different sizes of residence. As a result of qualitative and quantitative research, a map of accessibility to social and health services was drawn up, taking into consideration the division of the country into voivodeships with different population. Spatial analysis showed great diversity in terms of service availability. Voivodships with the highest accessibility of health and social services are Dolnośląskie, Opolskie and Świętokrzyskie, while the worst situation is in Wielkopolskie. Moreover, the article identifies the main problems that people with limited functionality encounter when using health and social services.","PeriodicalId":281768,"journal":{"name":"Multidisciplinary Aspects of Production Engineering","volume":"388 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122479389","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Palka","doi":"10.2478/mape-2021-0001","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.2478/mape-2021-0001","url":null,"abstract":"Abstract The mining production process is of particular importance for the area of Upper Silesia, as well as a very significant impact on the economy of the entire country. One of the most common and most dangerous threats to this process is the methane hazard. It is related to the presence of methane in coal seams, which under appropriate conditions is a flammable and explosive gas. Events related to the methane hazard constitute a huge threat to the life and health of the crew as well as the infrastructure and equipment of excavations. Therefore, they have a huge impact on the efficiency of the entire mining production process. In order to ensure the safety and continuity of the production process, it is necessary to prevent the formation of dangerous methane concentrations in the area covered by the operation. One of the tools that can be used to assess the state of methane hazard are model studies supported by numerical simulation. Based on these studies, the article analyzes the distribution of methane concentration in the mining area. This area included an actual mining excavation in one of the hard coal mines. The model tests were carried out with the use of the finite volume method in the ANSYS Fluent software. The obtained results can be used for preventive measures and constitute an important source of information for the assessment of the methane hazard state.","PeriodicalId":281768,"journal":{"name":"Multidisciplinary Aspects of Production Engineering","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127566110","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Located often in developed urban areas, with many disadvantages such as contamination or unstable ownership status, they are not of interest to investors. Exploiting the potential they undoubtedly have would in many cases require the investment of considerable resources, but in order for these to be allocated to the investment, the investor expects to gain complete knowledge of the character and specificity of the place. The article is an example of a preliminary analysis of a selected post-industrial area, which helps to outline the direction of future area redevelopment.","PeriodicalId":281768,"journal":{"name":"Multidisciplinary Aspects of Production Engineering","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-08-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127456424","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Achievement of adequate efficiency value is a guarantor of competitive advantage of enterprise. Therefore, it is necessary to constantly work on methods and techniques to improve efficiency, tailored to the needs of various organizations, which also includes service enterprises. Service enterprises include public transport companies. The purpose of the latter is to guarantee that the passenger will be transported from stop A to stop B within a certain time. Failure to achieve this goal incurs certain social costs. Therefore, the article focuses on measures and ways to improve efficiency, developed in Eastern Asian enterprises that have been successful as a result of their use. The first part of the article reviews the literature, including the methods used in this part of the world. The second part, however, concerns the possibility of using the BOST method in improving the efficiency of public transport enterprise processes in Poland.","PeriodicalId":281768,"journal":{"name":"Multidisciplinary Aspects of Production Engineering","volume":"321 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-08-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123306525","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

People no longer need to leave their homes to go shopping, even everyday groceries. They can use the e-shop at any time of day or night, at home or at work. There are no queues, they can get to know other people’s opinions, compare products and services with each other. They can shop while sitting on the sofa in front of the TV and sipping tea. Shopping can be done in the e-shop up to thousands of kilometers away. Especially in the current Covid-19 pandemic, online shopping has become very popular. The aim of the paper was to assess the quality of services offered by the research e-shop. During the research the Critical Incident Technique (CIT) was used. A direct interview was conducted with the customers of the research e-shop who, after using its services, agreed to share their impressions and opinions. They were supposed to describe incidents or situations related to the research e-shop, which they have in their memory, and which caused special satisfaction or dissatisfaction. The analysis allowed to indicate that less than 50% of the incidents described by the customers were positive incidents that cause customers’ high satisfaction, which is not a good situation for the research e-shop. Improvement actions are needed.","PeriodicalId":281768,"journal":{"name":"Multidisciplinary Aspects of Production Engineering","volume":"72 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-08-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115556732","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
