We deal with simulated agents operating in a virtual world as well as with physical agents in the form of remote controlled devices. The research underlying these prototype demonstrations involves various aspects of artificial intelligence research, in particular natural language and speech processing, and knowledge representation and reasoning for actions. The ultimate goal of this research is to develop adaptable speech based interfaces for a variety of agent-type systems, i.e. physical systems like household appliances, e.g. TVs, stereos, door openers, or alarm systems, as well as software systems with command interfaces, e.g. design systems or help systems.","PeriodicalId":281008,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings. It presents an integral cycle we developed to build feasible multi-agent plans in a dynamic context (i.e. aircraft simulation). This cycle takes into account both functional and computational features of our multi-agent planning framework. The model is a novel application of neural network in evaluating multiple recommendations of various trust standards with and without deceptions. The experimental results show that 97.22% estimation errors are less than 0.05. This work presents a distributed discrete Lagrange multiplier (DDLM) method for solving distributed constraint satisfaction problems (distributed CSPs). In this method, the local behaviors of agents are aggregated as a descent direction of an objective function corresponding to the problem at hand. Thus, a trend to a solution state are formed. Furthermore, we provide three techniques to speed up the aggregation of agents' local behaviors. Through experiments on benchmark graph coloring problems, we validate the effectiveness of the presented DDLM method as well as the three techniques in solving distributed CSPs.","PeriodicalId":281008,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings. The model is based on a bio-inspired metabolism and a \"digital DNA\". It includes a 3D face with real-time animation, natural language interaction and Web access. Behaviors are scripted using the Scheme language and genetic programming. The distributed ACrawlers locally interact with their living environment, i.e. textured regions, and each ACrawler acts according to a set of homogenous rules for isotropic motion, energy absorption and colony formation etc. The ACrawlers evolve through natural selection, which produces the specific curves of agent evolution, habitant settlement, and colony formation as well as the scale distribution of all colonies. The algorithm is applied to bilateral multi-issue negotiation in MAS-based e-commerce. We propose a new extended BDI framework with an intelligent module for handling complex situations. Change rate of beliefs (/spl Psi/) and expected cost of reaching the final goal state from different states in the plan hierarchy have been considered by the agent in the proposed architecture. This would enable agents to identify the alternative plans in the intention structure with the change of the environment. Dynamic selection of plans and expected cost of achieving the final goal state from various plan paths are modeled with the use of a supervised neural network. Adaptive neuro fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) has been incorporated in making the final rational decisions in the agent model.","PeriodicalId":281008,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings.
