In this paper, a software diversity model from practice of Zone Controller in communications-based train control application is presented. Firstly, we discuss software architecture and safety tactics of embedded systems, and then construct a software diversity model of embedded safety-critical system based on fail-safe principle, lastly, we use Markov model to analyze safety of the diversity model quantitatively. The result has interesting implications for software implementation in embedded safety-critical applications.","PeriodicalId":280001,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Wireless Networks and Information Systems","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114751824","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An elevation function is obtained by inducing the parametric function into implicit function. Using our new proposed isoline extraction algorithm which based on tracing the `tangent vector' of the isoline starting at the initial point, we obtain the zero isolines of elevation function in parameter domain. The intersection of parametric surface and implicit surface is achieved by projecting the zero isolines onto the parametric surface.","PeriodicalId":280001,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Wireless Networks and Information Systems","volume":"90 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121895588","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The fusion technique is based on immune clonal selection (ICS) in natural immune selection and nonsubsampled contourlet transform (NSCT). NSCT can give the asymptotic optimal representation of the edges and contours in image by virtue of the characteristics of good multiresolution, shift-invariance and multi-directionality. And then ICS is introduced into NSCT domain to optimize the fusing weights adaptively. Numerical tests show that this algorithm provides improvements both in visual effects and quantitative analysis. And the fusion images hold edge and texture information well and have ideal contrast and definition.","PeriodicalId":280001,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Wireless Networks and Information Systems","volume":"197 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122830064","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

UWB signal have many beneficial characteristics such as good confidentiality, strong penetrating ability, high positioning accuracy and low power consumption. However, for the application of the node localization, UWB direct signal is difficult to detect accurately. In this paper, the first signal arrival time and the strongest amplitude signal arrival time are weighted to get the time of direct signal, and we calculate weighting coefficient by the use of fuzzy logic technology. This structure can effectively improve the received signal strength of cell-edge users benefiting from cooperative diversity. Based on the proposed structure, a cooperative handoff strategy (CHOS) is designed. The CHOS extends the handoff algorithms based on absolute threshold value and hysteresis level by using the signal strength with cooperative diversity gain as handoff decision. The improved handoff decision in CHOS reduces the number of handoff in the system. If the target cell is crowed, CHOS can decrease the system handoff block rate by a simple channel borrowing mechanism. The simulation outcomes are provided for the creditability verification of the theoretical results.","PeriodicalId":280001,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Wireless Networks and Information Systems","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125083149","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
