Applying Schur-complement and some matrix manipulation techniques, the controlled uncertain unified chaotic system is then transformed into the linear matrix inequality (LMI) form. Finally, a robust controller is designed to enforce the pre-specified exponential decay dynamics of the uncertain unified chaotic system. Numerical results validate the effectiveness of the proposed robust control scheme.","PeriodicalId":279256,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Workshop on Chaos-Fractals Theories and Applications","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-11-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130953405","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Under certain conditions, marine planktonic ecosystem can have different nonlinear dynamic properties, such as point attractor, periodic attractor as well as chaotic attractor. In this paper, a phytoplankton-fish (herbivorous) model was constructed. With the fishing intensity changed, we studied the nonlinear dynamic properties such as the stability and bifurcation of this model. Futhermore, a model consisting of 6 phytoplankton species and 4 zooplankton species extended with fishing factor was used to analyze the different attractors of the system under different fishing intensity. Results showed that fishing can promote the occurrence of alternative attractors. Futhermore, fishing will decrease the relative frequency of chaos. Under median fishing intensity, there will be more cyclic attractors which mean that population abundance varies mostly.","PeriodicalId":279256,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Workshop on Chaos-Fractals Theories and Applications","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-11-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128927101","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

According to the fact of biological resource management, it is assumed that the immature individuals and the mature individuals of the predator population are divided by fixed age and that immature predator population does not have the ability to attack prey. Sufficient conditions, which guarantee the global attractivity of predator-extinction periodic solution and the permanence of the system, are obtained. Furthermore, numerical simulations shows there is a characteristic sequence of bifurcations, leading to a chaotic dynamics, which implies that the impulsive control model we considered has more complex dynamics including periodic doubling bifurcation, symmetry breaking bifurcation, period halving bifurcation, quasi-periodic oscillation and choas.","PeriodicalId":279256,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Workshop on Chaos-Fractals Theories and Applications","volume":"145 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-11-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115713121","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

All of the distribution of fault and fold tectonics in coalfields of each category mining area follow the fractal law, and the influence of distribution of geological tectonic in coalfield to hazard extent of coal and gas outburst can be described using fractal dimension. There is a positive correlation between fault fractal dimension and hazard extent of outburst, and between fold fractal dimension and hazard extent of outburst.
