The study results show that: the Lyapunov exponent and general dimension of the time series for rotor system under different working conditions are different. Therefore, \"Lyapunov exponent - general dimension\" is proposed to act as the quantitative characterization of the fault diagnosis for rotor system, which can diagnose and monitor the mechanical faults of rotor system. Study on Fault Analysis of Rotor Machinery Using Lyapunov Exponent-Fractal Dimension
