Firstly, three E's of sustainability are decomposed into eight quantitative indicators and their weights of importance are determined through AHP for the construction of the overall metric. Secondly, this paper uses fuzzy comprehensive evaluation to grade specific data into three levels and eventually obtain a specific score of the overall metric. By establishing AHP-fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model which combines Analytic Hierarchy Process and Fuzzy Evaluation Method, we can easily measure the success of smart growth of a city.","PeriodicalId":275033,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Management Science and Engineering (ICMSE)","volume":"73 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127277990","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As an important component of corporate social responsibility, corporate donation has attracted more and more academic attention. In this study, we shed light on the relationship between female executives' characteristics and corporate donation. With a sample of all A-share listed companies spanning from 2010 to 2016, we investigate the impact of three key characteristics of female executives on corporate donation: education, age and pay. The empirical results show that the education of female executives is significantly correlated with the corporate donation, but female executives' age and the executive pay for female contribute little to the donation. Specifically, highly educated female executives are significantly associated with relatively low corporate donation levels. This paper enriches the branch of research of gender effects on corporate social responsibility, and our results carry practical implications for corporate governance, behavioral corporate finance, and human resources.","PeriodicalId":275033,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Management Science and Engineering (ICMSE)","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125022547","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We provide an agent-based model of R&D partner selection and investigate the formation of industrial R&D networks. Different from previous literature, we generate the model based on the objective existing cooperative attractiveness and strategic motivations for partner selection and focus on the role of R&D capabilities of organizations and the logic distance between potential bilateral collaboration. We find that the new model can replicates the network structure well, and two features are central to the R&D network formation: importance of R&D capabilities of agents and the importance of logic distance between agents. The networks forcing by the partner selection model are performing an approximate power-law distribution.","PeriodicalId":275033,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Management Science and Engineering (ICMSE)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125271240","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Specifically, we investigate the mode involving multi-level cooperation, seeking potential cooperative projects and continuously providing post-supports to cooperators. The findings show that the continuous cooperation mode is proactively seeking project resources based on the expected performance with the aim to expand market demands, and this mode is also a deep exploration for innovating corporate operation and maintaining market stability. However, this mode requires companies to competently subdivide projects and re-integrate the divided projects. Finally, we discuss the feasibility of this mode applied in corporate operations and implications for Chinese companies on establishing virtual organizations.","PeriodicalId":275033,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Management Science and Engineering (ICMSE)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122314716","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It provides a visual platform to simulation the matching transaction progress in the Swarm software. The visual simulation platform is based on the LDP (Large Direct Purchasing) mode in electricity market. The visual transaction is between the electricity generators and large direct users, who participate in a game determined by declaring the quantity and the price in the transaction of the electricity quantity and price under the action of the market rules. The order list, which was established by the transaction, can form a reasonable network connection under the physical constraints to fulfill the distribution of benefits. In the simulation procedures, any actions of the power generator will affect itself as well as the industry's marginal revenue and total profit, and will make the generator to determine its own production quantity or price in predicting other generators' action and the impact of such action on themselves, as well as the impact of this reaction.","PeriodicalId":275033,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Management Science and Engineering (ICMSE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129578704","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to fully understand the competitive status of China's Internet industry, the improved radar charts are used in this paper to evaluate the competitiveness of 49 Internet companies listed on NASDAQ. Improved radar charts can not only examine the weight of each index directly, but also can measure the balance of development by comprehensive algorithm effectively. It is found by this new method that about 27% of enterprises are in the upstream of this highly competitive industry, 67% in the middle and only 6% in the downstream. By K-means clustering analysis, about 75% of companies at the phase of growth are classified as “conservative” oriented, and 83% of mature ones are “growth” oriented. Moreover, the “aggressive” oriented company in the industry could go far than expectation.","PeriodicalId":275033,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Management Science and Engineering (ICMSE)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124542805","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
