Based on data as of May 2021, the results showed a positive and significant relationship between the number of population and number of COVID-19 cases, with a correlation value of r=0.505 (p≤0.00) and one outlier, which is China which has the highest population in the world (1,439,323,776 people) but with the number of cases in the 96th place (90,799 cases). Meanwhile, Indonesia has a fourth population (276,003,941 people) and has the number of COVID-19 cases in 18th place (1,728,204 cases). Empowerment is to give people dreams and hopes, encourage them, and bring out the wonderful power of life that they originally have. Everyone is born with great power. And you can continue to exert great power throughout your life. Empowerment is to bring out that wonderful power. Just as gushing out from the spring, it is critical to bring out the vitality and potential of each person. In practices such as psychology, health, medical care, welfare, education, administration, management, and community development, the wonderful potential that each person originally has is brought up and manifested, and through activities, can create positive change for the development of people's lives and society. We will make use of it. In addition, in groups such as organizations and communities, the vitality and abilities hidden in each person are effectively drawn out, and this power is used as energy to support the growth of people and the development of the community. This is the empowerment required of organizations, communities, and people.","PeriodicalId":274850,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings Series on Social Sciences & Humanities","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130334633","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, mental health first aid training for health care workers is needed. This research aims to examine the effectiveness of mental health first aid training to improve mental health literacy of the health care workers in the primary health care center. This was a simple randomized design with one group. The intervention was mental health first aid training which includes six sessions, namely mental health, mental health first aid, depression, anxiety, psychotics, and action plan. The training was attended by 58 health care workers and 1 staff from the Health Office of Surabaya. The instruments used were Mental Illness: Clinicians' Attitude Scale (MICA-4) to measure attitudes towards people with mental disorders and true-false questions to measure knowledge about mental health. The result of data analysis with paired-samples t-test showed that the mental health first aid training was effective in increasing the mental health literacy of health workers. Participants showed a significant increase in understanding of mental health (t = 3.575; p = 0.000). However, the limited opportunities for practice and direct interaction with mental patients affects the insignificant impact of training on changing attitudes towards people with mental disorders (t = -0.371; p = 0.753). Finally, this study recommends training methods that involve more practice in the future.","PeriodicalId":274850,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings Series on Social Sciences & Humanities","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117146895","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study aims to determine the description of psychological distress in converts. This type of research is qualitative research with a phenomenological model and data collection methods carried out by in-depth interviews and documentation. The informants of this study were three people, one man was 59 years old and had converted to Islam for 36 years and two women, the first was 40 years old and had converted to Islam for 18 years, the second was 66 years old and had converted to Islam for 41 years. The results of this study indicate that the religious conversion experienced by the informant has a relationship with psychological distress, where the process follows the interpersonal and situational factors shared by the informant. The informant decides to convert to Islam. The interpersonal factors experienced by the informants occurred in the second stage of religious conversion, namely, the phase of unease. In this phase, religious teachings are believed to bring peace no longer or cause psychological distress to him. Informants make comparisons from the previous instructions to the teachings of Islam. The peak was the situational factor he experienced, namely the stage of religious conversion (mualaf) because the teachings in Islam are considered the right way and are more capable of bringing life satisfaction.","PeriodicalId":274850,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings Series on Social Sciences & Humanities","volume":"75 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114562784","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
