Interconnections between the religious and medical sectors are multifaceted and have existed for centuries, including partnerships that have evolved in recent decades, and integrating religion into health programs can provide some important outcomes for population health. \u0000Material and methods. A quantitative study was conducted among family doctors and representatives of the Orthodox church, between January and March 2022. A questionnaire was applied to 347 family doctors and 337 Orthodox priests. \u0000Results. Both doctors (60.1%) and priests (79.8%) consider the existence of barriers to cooperation between the two entities. Both doctors and priests see doctors as important actors in solving public health problems (98% and 96% respectively), the local public authority (82% and 53% respectively), while doctors consider the value of the church more important than priests do (45% compared to 31%). Measures that could improve the degree of collaboration between institutions, regular communication between actors is a priority in their view (78.1% doctors and 78% priests), while priests attest that collaboration initiatives from the central authority could increase the degree of collaboration (81.6%), collaboration initiatives from religious institutions could influence this process to a much lesser extent (29.7%). \u0000Conclusions. The aim of the research was to evaluate the accessibility of family planning services and safe abortion care during the COVID-19 pandemic and develop necessary recommendations for maintaining and improving the provision of these services in pandemic situations. \u0000Material and methods. To achieve the aim, a descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted from 01.11.2021 to 01.02.2022 on a sample of 213 obstetrician-gynecologists and 320 women of reproductive age. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS software. \u0000Results. FPS and SAC were reported to be incompletely provided during the COVID-19 pandemic by 42.7% of obstetrician-gynecologists. Limited access was also reported by 46.9% of beneficiaries of these services. Common obstacles/challenges regarding access to FPS and SAC include: insufficient information about COVID-19, fear of infection, doctors with COVID-19, imposed quarantine, overloaded work schedules of doctors, cessation of public transport with limited mobility, etc. \u0000Conclusions. The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in a limitation of access to FPS and SAC, experienced by both beneficiaries and service providers at the country level. Analysis of obstacles and opportunities in the provision and access to services can serve to identify measures for broader accessibility to FPS and SAC in public health emergencies. There is an urgent need for policies and procedures whose implementation would ensure equitable and timely access to FPS and SAC in PHE, including the application of telemedicine as a modern tool.

Injury is a significant public health concern that is a leading cause of mortality and disability worldwide. Injuries have a significant financial and quality-of-life impact on persons and communities. The absence of fundamental epidemiological data on the prevalence of injuries prevents developing countries from creating effective prevention programs. The goal of this study was to characterise the epidemiological features of injury in the Adjara region. Material and methods. The database and source of the data that we used in this article were provided from the Georgian National Center for Disease Control and Public Health’s 2019 database, which contains all hospitalizations in the Adjara area and was utilized to find trauma cases that were treated at medical facilities. Based on the ICD-10 diagnosis codes S and T, as well as V-Y, cases were chosen. Version 23.0 of SPSS was used to analyze the data. Results. Between the ages of 0 and 103, there were a total number of 2,239 patients, inclusive 1,321 (59%) – males, and 918 (41%) – women, who were hospitalized for treatment of an injury. The incidence was highest among those aged 65 and over (n=510; 23%), followed by those aged 20-34 (n= 488; 20%). The most prevalent cause of injury was falling (n=1,324; 59%), followed by exposure to inanimate mechanical forces (n=244; 11%). The range of hospital stays was from 1 to 3,652 days, with a median and mode of 3 and 2 days. Conclusions. This study provides information for public health decision-making. In order to enhance the standard of treatment and focus efforts on avoiding more injuries, intervention strategies may be devised using our data to understand better the extent of the injuries and outcomes linked to traumatic injury hospitalizations.

The primary goal of this article is to raise attentiveness about the critical need for vector-borne disease control in Nigeria in relation to One Health, as well as to examine existing understanding on this subject matter, which is quickly befitting as a valuable resource for public health policymakers and specialists across the country. Globally, there has been an increase in the number of vectors, which has resulted in an increase in vector-borne diseases. Thousands of individuals die every year as a consequence of vector-borne diseases, and there is an urgent need to manage these vectors. \u0000Material and methods. The present research used PubMed, ResearchGate, WHO and other online databases with the following keywords “Climate change in Nigeria”, “Public health in Nigeria”, “Vector-borne Diseases”, “Nigeria population” and “One Health in Nigeria”. \u0000Results. We observed that there has not been an implementation of the One Health approach against Vector-borne diseases in Nigeria. \u0000Conclusions. The One Health strategy has the potential to address this issue. One Health is the concept that the health of human is intertwined with that of animals and our collective environment. Malaria is a vector-borne disease that is one of Nigeria's biggest health issues. However, land use changes such as deforestation, mining, and other activities have increased in Nigeria, while climate changes have increased internationally.

In the prenatal period, fathers have a significant influence on the well-being of their children. Perinatal behavior and involvement of fathers during pregnancy are known to affect maternal health, fetal outcomes, and the emotions and behavior of the infant after birth. The aim of this study is to reveal the effects of pregnancy on the anxiety level of expectant fathers (EF) and the factors affecting the anxiety level. \u0000Material and methods. This present paper is a case-control study conducted with the spouses of pregnant women who were followed up in healthcare institutions in Turkey between March and June 2016. This study was performed on 232 men with pregnant wives (expectant fathers) with no known chronic or psychiatric illnesses and 316 with non-pregnant wives. This study included men whose informed consent was obtained before being enrolled in the study. Two questionnaires (STAI forms (State-Trait Anxiety Inventory 1-2) and a questionnaire developed by the researcher) were applied to the participants. \u0000Results. The mean age of EF was 33.7±6.0 (min=23, max=51). The mean age of men with non-pregnant wives (control group) was 36.5±7.1 (min=23, max=57). The frequency of anxiety in the EF was 9.9% for the STAI-1 and 10.7% for STAI-2. The frequency of anxiety in the control groups was 5.3% for the STAI-1 form and 2.5% for the STAI-2 form. In our study, the mean STAI-1 score of the EFs was 41.2±7.5, the mean STAI-1 score of the controls was 38.0±7.3, and there was a statistically significant difference between each other (p<0.001). The mean STAI-2 score of the EFs was 41.2±7.5, the mean STAI-2 score of the controls was 38.2±6.8, and there was a statistically significant difference between the two groups (p<0.001). The mean STAI-2 score of the EF group was 43.8±7.3 in the first trimester, 41.6±7.7 in the second trimester, and 39.6±7.0 in the third trimester. It was determined that spouses in the 1st trimester had higher anxiety levels than those in the second and third trimesters, according to the STAI-2 form (p=0.008). EF who had a postnatal babysitter, good sleep quality, did not experience a bad event, and were compatible with wives had a significantly lower level of anxiety (respectively p=0.008, p=0.019, p<0.001, p=0.01). \u0000Conclusions. Particularly in first pregnancies and the first trimester of pregnancy, father candidates may experience anxiety disorders more frequently and intensely. EF may need psychological support during pregnancy. Physicians should evaluate the mother and the father-to-be from a psychological perspective.

Wilson's disease represents one of the genetic diseases that has lifelong treatment, which significantly improved the quality of life for patients and reduced the disabling complications associated with the lack of an early diagnosis. \u0000Material and methods. A structured search was performed in PubMed and HINARI, using English search terms: "Wilson's disease", "acute liver failure", "cirrhosis", "acute Wilsonian hepatitis", "hepatic manifestation", "chronic liver disease", "asymptomatic Wilson's disease", and "active chronic hepatitis". \u0000Results. Wilson's disease can occur at any age and can mimic the presence of other chronic liver diseases. The hepatic expression is highly variable, ranging from asymptomatic presentation to severe liver diseases, such as decompensated cirrhosis and acute liver failure. Any patient with transaminitis and abnormal parameters of cooper metabolism should be comprehensively and carefully evaluated to identify Wilson's disease early and to prevent misdiagnosis or unnecessary therapies. Confirmation of the diagnosis should not exclude the co-existence of other liver diseases. \u0000Conclusions. The use of validated and adapted scores for Wilson's disease may facilitate diagnosis, but they cannot be used in acute liver failure. Adenocarcinomas are the most common lung tumors and are often diagnosed in advanced stages when the tumor has a polyclonal form with a wide variety of genetic alterations and activated mutational processes. Comprehensive analysis of mutational status from FFPE tissue samples in such patients can provide a therapeutic perspective and contribute considerably to clinical decisions thereby increasing the overall survival rate. \u0000Material and methods. 22 genes were analyzed for mutations and 4 genes for fusion transcripts using two Ion AmpliSeq panels. DNA was isolated from paraffin-embedded tissue sections while RNA analysis was performed using two types of samples: paraffin blocks and fresh tumor tissue. Key variant detection and data analysis was performed using next platforms: Ion Reporter, ONCOMINE, R language. \u0000Results. The study of 30 tumor samples allowed the detection of 147 mutations and 4 fusions in 19 genes, and the therapeutically actionable variants were associated with different drugs clinically approved or in the phase of clinical trials. The most genetic variants were identified in the TP53, EGFR and NOTCH1 genes with a prevalence of over 50% in the TP53 gene, while all 4 detected fusions (one fusion per sample) represent the association of the ALK gene with other partners: EML4(13)-ALK(20) – present in 2 samples; EML4(6)-ALK(20); and an ALK fusion with an unknown partner gene. \u0000Conclusions. Analyzing the mutational status of tumor samples from patients with lung adenocarcinoma it has been ascertained the therapeutic utility of gene panel sequencing covering point mutations, INDELs and SNVs, as well as gene fusions, using FFPE tissue as primary material.
