And it was observed about the relevance with the resistivity distribution and image defect by the measurement such as three-dimensional space charge distribution and electrical conductivity. Therefore, it became possible that an image defect was predicted by measuring the space charge distribution in a intermediate transfer belt. In the future, we intend to investigate about the electrical conductivity mechanism of a intermediate transfer belt.","PeriodicalId":274147,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings: Electrical Insulation Conference and Electrical Manufacturing and Coil Winding Technology Conference (Cat. This versatile polymer offers many attractive features such as high mechanical strength, outstanding dielectric characteristics, excellent adhesive properties, very good chemical resistance and excellent thermal endurance. Such features make them materials of choice for high and medium voltage electrical apparatus that operate in below zero Celsius environments. At lower operating temperatures, many factors come into play affecting overall performance. Among these factors are: speed and effectiveness of cure, fracture toughness characteristics, and thermal expansion properties.","PeriodicalId":274147,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings: Electrical Insulation Conference and Electrical Manufacturing and Coil Winding Technology Conference (Cat. Both materials come together by means of the enameling process and form a composite with a wide range of applications in bobbins, motors, transformers and so forth. The copper and enamel characterization by traditional techniques based on their physical properties seems not to be enough to forecast the behavior of both materials in the process of magnet wire manufacturing. This paper addresses the use of the Atomic Force Microscope (AM) and the Scanning Electron Microscope (SEEM) in the analysis of copper and enamel respectively.","PeriodicalId":274147,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings: Electrical Insulation Conference and Electrical Manufacturing and Coil Winding Technology Conference (Cat. In this presentation, we shall discuss the guidelines as to the time to failure following changes in the trending of motor circuit analysis readings. In many cases, early detection of faults and the application of this method will allow for the reconditioning versus rewinding of electrical machinery. The scope of the paper will be low voltage, random wound induction motors in a clean electrical environment. The paper will also include a definition of the three stages of winding failure.","PeriodicalId":274147,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings: Electrical Insulation Conference and Electrical Manufacturing and Coil Winding Technology Conference (Cat. While the electrical properties of these materials are under study by motor and wire manufacturers, a better understanding of the mechanical properties of these wires will help reduce defects and product loss due to poor manufacturability. A number of commercially available corona resistant magnet wire coatings were compared using nanoindentation techniques; hardness and modulus of elasticity were measured. The wire enamels were examined in cross-section and differences in the topcoat and basecoat observed.","PeriodicalId":274147,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings: Electrical Insulation Conference and Electrical Manufacturing and Coil Winding Technology Conference (Cat. Recently, with the rapid development of computer based signal processing, it is possible to identify the source of partial discharge (PD) signals originating from complex insulation structures under varied operating conditions. The research on PD pattern classification is mostly performed in the time-domain but there is also an increasing trend to undertake frequency-domain analysis. In this research work, an experiment has been carried out on an 11KV, single-core 240 mm/sup 2/ XLPE cable. The operating conditions are varied using two parameters which are the soil condition in terms of soil thermal resistivity and cable loading in terms of core temperature. The time-domain electrical PD signals obtained from a PD measurement system are transformed into frequency spectrum by short-time fast Fourier transform (STFFT) using Matlab toolbox. In order to carry out the PD pattern classification, nine frequency-domain statistical descriptors are identified for the present work. A database for the range of values of the nine descriptors have been developed using PD signals obtained from one of the soil thermal resistivity at normal full load working temperature that is identified as standard. The values of the descriptors obtained from signals corresponding to other operating conditions stated earlier are then compared against the standard database and the number of successes is measured in terms of the commonly used recognition rate. The analysis of the results has clearly indicated that the proposed methodology has the ability to classify PD patterns originating from the cable under varied operating conditions.","PeriodicalId":274147,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings: Electrical Insulation Conference and Electrical Manufacturing and Coil Winding Technology Conference (Cat. Many companies have sought to offset total cost of manufacture by introducing foreign labor into the cost equation, Material+Labor+Overhead=Manufacturing Cost. Since US motor manufacturing is a mature industry, it has resulting high labor and overhead costs compared to less developed or under-developed countries. In addition, American motor manufacturers have to factor in high regulatory tax burdens and meet regulating bodies' requirements. Thus, the total cost of manufacture in US is substantially higher. In order to sustain electric motor manufacture in the US requires new methods of processing motors to make them more cost effective. One such method is automation of assembly combined with innovations such as self-bonding magnet wire.","PeriodicalId":274147,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings: Electrical Insulation Conference and Electrical Manufacturing and Coil Winding Technology Conference (Cat.
