Using self-bonding magnet wire in stator manufacturing is an innovative solution to create an efficient cost effective manufacturing process. The process can be set to supply a product off the line in less than 10 seconds. To use the bondable magnet wire some new equipment is necessary. Selecting a proper power supply and control system is key to making the bondable magnet wire in stator manufacturing a cost-effective method.","PeriodicalId":274147,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings: Electrical Insulation Conference and Electrical Manufacturing and Coil Winding Technology Conference (Cat. By preventing their accumulation, the life of the paper/oil insulation will be extended. A system was designed and built using a combination of adsorbents and semi permeable membranes and equipped with simple self-controlled fail-safe features for unattended operation. Several prototype conditioning units were built and tested in the laboratory and in the field with in-service transformers. Results showed these units substantially improved the quality of the oil. Some units may also be operated in a degassing mode to remove dissolved gases and moisture.","PeriodicalId":274147,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings: Electrical Insulation Conference and Electrical Manufacturing and Coil Winding Technology Conference (Cat. It was shown that the investigated mechanism of the anomalous discharge determines reliability of work of insulation under lightning and switching impulse overvoltages. New criteria and ways of insulation optimization are offered. Questions of application of this model for improvement of a design of insulators on Overhead Lines and Substations were considered. However for number of cases there is significant flashover probability for special insulation (with clean and dry surface!) under rate voltage. All kinds of insulators without sheds being used in EHV Power Energetic concern to these cases. For example, different special internal insulators without sheds as well as operational sticks intended for work on Overhead Lines and Substations without removal voltage. In the present work the developed model proves existence of a real flashover probability for such insulation, considers stage by stage the mechanism of anomalous flashover and the ways of preventing anomalous discharges.","PeriodicalId":274147,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings: Electrical Insulation Conference and Electrical Manufacturing and Coil Winding Technology Conference (Cat. An approach to cross-talk recognition, based on PD-pulse shape and phase analysis, is presented in this paper. It is shown that, the signal distortion, due to the different propagation path, can help in separation of PD signals relevant to the main and cross-talk PD patterns. The cross-talk recognition can be achieved applying appropriate phase shift analysis to the separated PD patterns. The rejection of cross-talk patterns can make easier PD source identification and the relevant diagnostic decision can be more reliable.","PeriodicalId":274147,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings: Electrical Insulation Conference and Electrical Manufacturing and Coil Winding Technology Conference (Cat. Wire coatings, especially those based on polyester imides, are traditionally produced with cresol as the solvent. In literature, it was established that propylene carbonate can also be used as an alternative solvent. The echo-efficiency analysis shows that the environmental impacts between the two solvents are more striking than the differences in the life-cycle costs. Propylene carbonate is the most echo-efficient copper wire enamel solvent.","PeriodicalId":274147,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings: Electrical Insulation Conference and Electrical Manufacturing and Coil Winding Technology Conference (Cat. The experiment was carried out by 30 kV DC pulse voltage with the frequencies in the range of 50 Hz to 150 Hz. Printed circuit boards of epoxy resin laminate have been employed to investigate the effects of the low pressures, surface temperatures, electric stress and the frequencies of applied voltage on the discharge quantity. The study revealed that the times to breakdown decrease with increasing temperatures, frequencies and the magnitude of electrical field. The characteristics of discharge currents with increased temperature and the electric stress were discussed by power spectral density. The results show that the power spectral density of discharge currents increases with increasing the temperature, and increases with increasing the electric stress.","PeriodicalId":274147,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings: Electrical Insulation Conference and Electrical Manufacturing and Coil Winding Technology Conference (Cat.
