The transducers are made from a special electromechanical film (EMFIT). Previous works based on EMFIT have considered aluminum active surfaces, on one or both sides of the transducer. The present work considers active surfaces made from gold. The obtained ultrasonic transducers are measured and analyzed from frequency response and directivity points of view. The novelty of the work is on the gold surfaces of the transducers, which provides a more flexible and reliable technology of the manufacturing process comparing with aluminum based surfaces.","PeriodicalId":273985,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 18th International Symposium for Design and Technology in Electronic Packaging (SIITME)","volume":"72 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126257563","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The platform was developed in the last months, being based on contact temperature measurement (with K thermocouples). The radio communication [5] offers a reliable data transfer to a computer, plotting the thermal profile, representing the relationship between temperature and time during the heating of PCB for the components' soldering process. The platform consists in two main blocks: the acquisition system, which travels inside the oven together with the PCB, and the receiver system, which receives the radio signals from the reflow oven and transfers towards a computer the technical data for graphical displaying and further investigation. This contribution is focused only to the first system/block, which works in much harsher conditions than the second one.","PeriodicalId":273985,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 18th International Symposium for Design and Technology in Electronic Packaging (SIITME)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121806161","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The load of converters represents an oscillating resonant circuits and the major problem consist in obtaining the maximum power at resonant switching frequency, imposed by load. This paper outlines a methodology for robustness optimization based on the Design of Experiments and metamodelling concepts. The main idea is to derive metamodels of the mean response and its dispersion depending only on control factors; thus, the optimization can tackle more effectively the tasks of bringing the mean response to within a set range and minimize the response statistical dispersion. The proposed method was used to optimize the sizing of the external circuitry of a low dropout voltage regulator used in automotive applications; several parameters were improved, especially w.r.t. reducing their dispersion with temperature by up to 28.5%. The method makes no assumptions on the uncontrollable factors and can work with a large variety of metamodels employed; also, it can be easily extended to multiple-response optimization.","PeriodicalId":273985,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 18th International Symposium for Design and Technology in Electronic Packaging (SIITME)","volume":"94 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134212075","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This effect causes short-circuit failures of the electronic circuits, which might lead to catastrophic failure. The ECM behavior of lead-free micro-alloyed low Ag content solder alloys (SAC0307 and SAC0807) were compared with common used SAC305, SAC405 and with the traditionally lead-bearing solder alloys: Sn63Pb37 and Sn62Pb36Ag2 as references. In order to carry out the ECM investigations, water drop (WD) tests were made on standard comb patterns in 1 mMol NaCl and 1 mMol Na2SO4 solutions as well. The results have shown that the SAC0807 low Ag content micro-alloyed solder alloy could have a relative weak resistance against ECM.","PeriodicalId":273985,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 18th International Symposium for Design and Technology in Electronic Packaging (SIITME)","volume":"200 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114379999","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The circuit is suitable for integration within the conditioning modules that are used for processing of signals from sensors that are connected to remote data acquisition systems. Regarding his structure, the proposed circuit is composed by two modules: the transmitter and the receiver. The transmission part operates with FSK (Frequency Shift Keying) modulation technique having two discrete transmission frequencies of 400kHz and 800kHz respectively. The receiver part of the circuit is implemented as an asynchronous FSK demodulator. The maximum data transmission rate obtained with the proposed circuit is around 100kbits/s but this value can be improved by using more rapid circuits and increasing the carrier frequency. By using the robust FSK modulation for sensor's signal transmission, the circuit achieves an improved immunity to electrical noises and spurious signals. This is an important advantage because interference problems are very frequently meet in the industrial environments where operates remote data acquisition systems. Another advantage of the proposed circuits is the possibility to multiplex signals from multiple sensors in order to be transmitted on the same physical channel.","PeriodicalId":273985,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 18th International Symposium for Design and Technology in Electronic Packaging (SIITME)","volume":"88 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132460205","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
